My wife and I have been fortunate enough to come across this beautiful property back in 2002. The main house has since been offered as a vacation rental destination for many to enjoy and our wish is to continue sharing the Aloha spirit with you, which will be felt no doubt through the style and warmth of the accommodation we are offering.
Knowing how much you will truly love this unique 'peace' of paradise, we look forward to providing an unforgettable vacation experience to you and your family!

Peter, Helen and Katy purchased this house in 2009
Because of its natural beauty and laid-back approach. For the rare privacy you can find now-a-days along with its steady cooling breeze year round. The area is tropical, with many trees and beautiful flowers.
Rainbows, waterfalls, Bamboo forests and beautiful beaches are just a short distance from this location. If you are looking for a place to relax or to enjoy good family reunion moments, this is the perfect choice.
To awaken to bird songs and be closer to nature is a joy that is still possible here. The view of the gorge and the ocean from the large lanai where you sit will take your breath away. And if you are lucky, you will even see whales breaching in the distance when in season.
Jumping into the pool at the end of the day and then into the hot tub to enjoy a glass of wine or Mai Tai is simply terrific. We are proud of what we are offering and love to read the comments that our guests leave after they too have felt the magic.
The true meaning of the word, Paradise. With a
contented sigh, we let all our worries go and
enjoyed everything about this amazing property. It
feels like someone's well-loved and perfectly
maintained home except all the dresser drawers
and closets are empty and ready for the new
arrivals. Comfortable beds, a beautiful koa kitchen,
big living room were perfect for our family--and
that was just the inside. Outside is one gorgeous
vista after another. The caretakers are just a quick
call away but all was so perfectly prepared that we
never needed their help. Please save space for us
Stayed here in November with 5 adults. It was the perfect base for exploring the island and surrounding waters. The house itself was very comfortable, private, and well-appointed. All kitchen basics and spices were provided, as well as coolers, beach towels, and beach/pool toys. The privacy and lush landscaping really made us feel like we had our own private resort, but still within a couple minutes drive to Paia town for beaches, food, and shopping. The location is especially good for getting a head start on the Road to Hana ahead of the main traffic.
Absolutely recommend and wish we could come back soon!
We recently returned from our first trip to Maui and while the overall experience was amazing, my favorite part was this home. First of all Alain and Katy were wonderful to work with - very responsive to questions and emails leading up to the trip and provided all the information necessary to make the arrival and stay as pleasant as possible. We were two couples and house provided more than enough room and privacy. It literally felt like we were in our own private reserve complete with banana, coconut and lillikoi trees. The pool and hot tub provided the perfect way to end each day. The house was fully stocked, probably better than my own home - we went to the store daily and prepared most of our own meals and had almost everything we needed without having to run to the store for things like utensils, cookware, spices, etc. This was very much appreciated. The location was perfect for us - while the west side of the island is beautiful (we visited), our group enjoyed the more laid-back nature of the up-country. The town of Pa'ia and Haiku provided us with the majority of our needs but yet the central location made the island's abundance of activities within a 30 minute drive. It is literally on the Road to Hana (not for everyone) and we also made day trips to Wailuku, Wailea, Kihea and Maalaea, golfing in Pukalani, and a number of beaches. The house is within minutes of a few great spots including the Ho'okipa Lookout which is a great spot to watch the local windsurfers and traditional surfers - amazing - and Mama's Seafood (which was just average in my opinion). Another wonderful find close to the house is Haliimaile which was one of our favorite spots. Go to the General Store (hopefully Tristan will be working the bar) for a great selection of cocktails and fine whiskeys/scotches - we only ate appetizers but wished we had done dinner there instead of Mama's. Across the street is a distillery with some great Vodkas - missed the tour but it will be on our schedule next time if we get back. I have already recommended the Maui Pole House to my friends and encourage anyone to put it on their consideration list if you are looking at staying in Maui. The only constructive feedback (and this is grasping at straws) is lack of air-conditioning which is not all that common anyway but it rained frequently while we were there which forced us to close the windows. This could be a drawback for some but the house cooled down quickly when the windows were open.
We were enthralled on our arrival at this beautifully maintained, private house with it's gorgeous flowers and huge lawns. All 9 members of our family, ages 2 through 72 loved our stay in this home and were able to find privacy when wanted or congregate together in its open spaces. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed by all, and the 4 children could be found there whenever we had a spare moment at the house. The smallest children increased their dexterity in the water immensely over the week we were able to stay. We couldn't have found more generous and accommodating hosts than Elisabeth and Alain. They kindly allowed us early drop-off of refrigerated food when we transferred from another house partway through our Maui stay and let us know they were available if we wanted advice or needed help. The kitchen was well stocked with staples and the house was immaculate with lots of open space. Books on flowers and birds helped us identify new species seen on the property. From the lanai, we even saw a few whale spouts and enjoyed many dinners. The location was perfect for travel along the Hana Rd. and up Haleakala and yet was surprisingly close to Ma'alea and other points on West Maui . Shopping was easy and fairly close by car in Ha'iku, Pa'ia and Kahului. Group games were played in and by the pool and the hammock and table with chairs provided comfort for those watching the children play. There was plentiful parking for our two cars under protection. We had a wonderful time here and definitely recommend this home for a family or group stay.
Our multi-generational group of 7 adults had an amazing time at this beautiful property. We referred to it as our 'estate' as it truly felt so private. The house is great for a large group and really allows everyone to have their own space. The pool was fabulous, we felt so spoiled to have our own mini-resort and serve up margaritas on the lanai. The home is in a great location in that it's in 'true' Maui, the nearby towns were filled with great local restaurants and the beaches were very quiet, but not too far (an hr) from the very built up 'West' Maui. We did a few day trips to Lahaina and Kihei but enjoyed spending time around the house the most. We appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was as we cooked practically every meal in house - everything is there (oil, utensils....did I mention the margarita blender?). Picking up groceries was a breeze with the nearby Haiku Market (5mins), Mana Foods (15mins), and Whole Foods/Costco in Kahuili (30mins). Much of this great review is owed to Alain & Elisabeth, they were great hosts that provided the right amount of privacy while letting us know they were there for anything we needed. They are incredibly talented landscapers and keep the grounds in absolutely immaculate condition. The variety of trees, plants, and flowers on-site really added to our stay and made the whole thing seem like our own tropical paradise. We even made use of the expansive grounds with a game of croquet one afternoon! Much Mahalo and we hope to return soon.
Our group of 6 adults (3 couples) have been on vacation together for years and have rented quite a few homes. We all decided The Maui Pole House hit the top of our list. Perfect for the quiet getaway and relaxation we are all looking for for a few weeks. Alain & Elisabeth are the perfect hosts!!! Well kept home, beautiful grounds. Maui is our favourite island, and for sure would recommend this home. We loved to have our own space, and quiet, but like to get out and enjoy some golf and sightseeing at our own pace. This home was perfect!!
This house was absolutely perfect for our party of 9, two families with five children ages 5-11. It was a vacation all in itself with the two floors, all kids on the bottom floor, and two master suites on the upper floor. The large lanai was perfect for meals overlooking the gorgeous grounds and ocean in the distance. The enormous pool was a hit with the kids which allowed the grown ups time to relax. I'm certain per hour in the day, our kids got maximum usage! It's true what the reviews said, it was hard to leave the house. The house had lovely Hawaiian music that greeted us and Elisabeth and Alain were extremely helpful. The grill was well-used, the kitchen fully stocked, the laundry also well-used.
This was my wedding week (got married on the beach of Kuau Cove right outside the famous and fabulous Mama's Fish House right down the street) and it couldn't have been more perfect and dreamy.
Experience the non-tourist side of Maui. You cannot walk out the door to the beach but what you can do is feel like you woke up in that spot that you pictured in your dreams when you thought of what Hawaii would be like. You can definitely hike from the house to you own private pebble beach, a 30 minute walk through old pineapple field roads (an exclusivity just for you due to our unique location). There is also Twin Falls only 5 minutes away by car where you can swim in natural forming pools at the base of hidden waterfalls within the tropical forest. And if you are lucky, JAWS might be up for you. It is just two bays away and you could walk to it. We are the tropics with elegance thrown in!
