This is a clean, well maintained cabin, it rests in a quiet, secluded community. It was just what we needed after a busy holiday. Some of the roads are steep getting to the cabin, but most cars should be able to make it. Make sure you check out the dining table, it is a work of art.
Superb and private location. Clean and cozy and has everything one would need for a vacation.
Wow, what a great 5 day vacation experinence for our family. We truly enjoyed everthing about the Dragonfly Cottage. To the owners it was a pleasure dealing with you during our stay, reservation process and quick response to question during our stay. The lake and area is a great kept secret and honestly I hope it stays that way. Our family loves the privacy and peacefulness the cottage and lake has to offer. Also, thanks to Santeelah marina where we rented a pontoon for those peaceful evening rides to view beautiful sunsets. We do plan to make this a annual family event.
We could not have imagined a more perfect way to spend our spring break. My husband and I came to Dragonfly with our kids (aged 9 and 10) and my sister-in-law met us there (traveling out from the west coast). The cabin could not have been better appointed and we did not "want" for anything. Both en suite bedrooms upstairs were spacious and the beds were big and comfortable. Our girls LOVED claiming the downstairs area with the generous bunk beds, cozy couch, and their own TV and bathroom.
We spent our mornings on the deck, sipping coffee, reading, and overlooking the stunning scenery--feeling like we were in the treetops. Afternoons were filled with exploration, day hikes at nearby Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, and time spent on Lake Santeetlah (an easy walk from Dragonfly). We took the short drive one afternoon to the Nantahala Outdoor Center and went white water rafting --a thrilling and memorable excursion that we can't wait to do again. In the evening we would have a soak in the hot tub, open the wine (which we brought from home!), make a full dinner in the well-equipped kitchen, then settle in for board games, movies, and laughs.
We have a portable wifi and at&t. All three adults could easily access email, text, and make calls; however, none of us felt compelled to do so. Nature, family, and relaxing were our priorities. Dragonfly checked all the boxes and we hope to come back again very soon!
We spent five wonderful days there. It is far enough off of the highway where you don't hear any traffic but just a short drive to town. We spent the day riding motorcycles on the Cherohala Skyway and the Tail of the Dragon. In the evening time we would relax in the hot tub with a glass of wine. Great place to get out of the city, relax, and get some fresh air. The owner, Melissa called while we were driving up to give us some pointers on where to shop and where to purchase adult beverages :-). It is a dry county. Make sure you stock up before you get there. Enjoy
Spent a wonderful weekend at Dragonfly. The cabin accommodated every need with modern appliances and decor. Just a short walk to the lake dock, were we used canoes, the lake is beautiful and clean and quiet!! There is no wifi as the location is remote but this is a blessing, the kids did more, played games, went hiking, hung out on the dock and just chilled. Evenings were spent, grilling out, soaking in the hot tub and hanging around the fire pit making s'mores. If we head wanted to do more, Robinsville was not too far a drive to hit the restaurants. Wish we could have stayed longer but as it is only a few hours drive from the metro Atlanta it makes a weekend get away easy. we will defiantly be back
