Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

It was the most comfortable place I have stayed in a very long time. Peaceful setting open view to the river. Wonderful place. We are planning our next visit there again this year sometime soon.

Owner's Response: Hello Donna, We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We strive to make Happy Hollow the perfect retreat for our families, with much thought given to details and the needs of our guests. That spot on the river is one of my favorite in Tillamook County. Its a little slice of Heaven :-) We welcome you back soon! Heather Oceanside Beach Rentals

River Delight!

  • 5 of 5

We just stayed at the property with the entire family and love it! Lots of room. Right on the river, so if you love to fish during stealhead or salmon runs you can't be in a better place. Pete the owner lives next door and is a great old salt! Showed us around, took my boys out crabbing and showed them where the fishing holes were at. Extreme wind and rain the first night and leak developed in the kitchen. Within minutes people were on scene to find where it was coming from and fix it. For the inconvenience, we got several fresh crab to eat during our stay! Not necessary, but it was a welcome gesture and no fresher crab as it was caught that same day. There are a few projects in process on the property as Pete intends to fix it up and offer not just a place to stay, but activities like horseback riding, and drifting the river, etc. Definitely a place we will return to soon. Thanks Pete for everything. I'm still thinking about the bird hunting you mentioned. I'll see if I can get some blockers to join in the fun and be in touch.

Good with some reservations

  • 3 of 5

Great view of river and great house inside. However, the house is located very close to the highway and other homes. One note: if it is warm enough to be outside and you have little kids, it's probably too close to the river for them.

Excellent river retreat

  • 5 of 5

This exclusive property was an excellent fit for six guys on a fishing trip. The home provides wonderful access to the Wilson river and is surrounded by forested hills. The views are expansive. The inside of the home is very clean with an open layout. The kitchen is well appointed with a significant amount of dishes, cooking pans and utensils. The owner and manager were often working around the property and provided us with information of the area and activities to pursue. They were generous with their time and assistance and worked hard to make sure our vacation was perfect. We look forward to our return. This place is dialed in!

The inside of the house is awesome. Almost anything you needed was available.

  • 4 of 5

When we drove in the driveway everyone was a little skeptical that this was the same property advertised. More updated pictures needed for the outside. The other houses are so close. Construction going on all around.

A very hot busy weekend so river was packed with cars and people. With that said and as the saying goes "you can't judge a book by its cover", we enjoyed our stay and the river was great for everyone to cool off in. Inside was very comfortable and accommodating. Plenty of room to play and relax and also be by yourself. Plenty of towels but a pain to have to wash a load of towels and sheets when you have to be out by 11. It's an early get up and go. No relaxing the morning you leave. Would be nice to have an extra hour. Also a few things to bring that were not available were a pitcher, cheese slicer, icecream scoop, and a griddle.

All in all the kids said they'd go back!

A Gem at Hidden Hallow

  • 5 of 5

This property is in an absolutely beautiful spot, sitting on the Wilson River in the Tillamook Forest. You don't feel like you are near town at all. It is wonderful for a large group or multiple families. It is CLEAN. (Not the it looks clean, but doesn't feel clean, clean, but the you can run around in your bare fee and feel very comfortable and at ease clean). It is tastefully decorated with every comfort you should every want. (and interesting photographs on the walls) There are enough chairs and beautiful dishes, cups, and glasses to serve 11, just like the review says. There are multiple pans available for cooking for eleven and smaller ones for a smaller group. Every utensil you might want cooking is there from spatulas to tongs to strainers to Tupperware to shape knives to anything you can think of. One of the very best stocked kitchens I have ever rented. It was impressive. Plus there are all sorts of extras--well lite rooms, heat lamps, large screen TVs, comfortable beds and pillows, lots of towels, clean, comfortable patio furniture, clean hot tub, and many more. The owner lives down the street and owns several houses on the street. If you are missing something, Annie brings it over immediately or can and does answer any question you might have about how something works. When the power went out on the entire street, the owner was on it immediately and got in touch with the electric company to get it back on. You didn't have to sit there wondering what to do.

We loved having more than one house on the block as we could all visit and make plans without driving all around. Great for larger family reunions or in our case a wedding at the Tillamook Forest Center. It is five minutes from town and twenty minutes from the center so it made a great staging area for out of town relatives and friends to drop by. The day my daughter got married, Annie had decorated the "honeymoon cottage ( across the street, Fisherman Bend)" with lights, rose petals, flowers and candles--such wonderful, special ending to a great day for the kids. Totally over the top for any rental I have ever stayed in

Definitely a Gem on the Wilson River
