Why Marcy or Norm Willis chose Kirkland

This property is spectacular because the guest cottage on our grounds is one of a kind. We designed the interior after we took a trip to Nantucket Island! People that have stayed here say it is uniquely peaceful! Will be featured on, "TINY HOUSE NATION!" at the end of 2016!

What makes this cottage unique

The benefits are that it's close to everything, the beach, the mountains, downtown Seattle, Microsoft, Boeing, Google, and if you love islands - the San Juan's are only 2 hrs. away!

Kirkland is like a beach town in the summer with arts festivals, alfresco dining everywhere and a beautiful waterfront to stroll and enjoy the view of downtown Seattle and the Olympic mountains. Come stay a week or stay a lifetime! You'll be glad you came!

Beautiful setting, Great location!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 41st anniversary at "Nantucket" and enjoyed every minute. The location is perfect for getting to the cute downtown Kirkland, Carillon Point water front, shopping and restaurants. Easy drive to Bellvue, Redmond, Woodinville Winery's and Edmonds, one of our favorite towns. The estate in over 100 years old, peaceful settings and so darn cute! 550sq. ft. is roomy enough for two with queen bed and single window step sleeper for two additional guest, children would be the best. Complete kitchen and bathroom. Hardwood floors, lots of windows for bright, cheery light. A fireplace for ambiance too! The reason for the 4 star is that I would put a foam topper on the bed to make it a bit more comfortable, we couldn't get the surround sound to work, and a small dresser would have been nice for our clothes to unpack and "move in". Otherwise, we will visit again and would highly recommend this little hidden nugget to anyone! Norm and Marcy are delightful hosts and are available for any questions and concerns. We can't wait for our return visit to Kirkland! Thank you Norm and Marcy!

Owner's Response: Just FYI, had a topper on the bed and a different guest thought it was too much! You never know, and the surround sound is disconnected when we replaced the system! Thanks, Marcy

Absolutely ADORABLE!

  • 4 of 5

THE CUTEST COTTAGE! Very comfortable -- and convenient -- accommodation with well thought design elements. We loved having our (owner provided) coffee on the porch in the morning overlooking a lovely garden -- and cooking our own breakfast and lunch. There's lots of natural light from many windows giving this cottage a true homey feel. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, it's a hidden gem. (Literally HIDDEN! -- You have to drive down a tree lined lane to get to it). The pictures are a true representation of the property.

As with most properties in the PacNW, there is no AC -- which typically isn't an issue because it usually isn't warm in WA. We, however, managed to visit during a heat wave (!). The very responsive owners provided 2 fans that, when properly maneuvered, cooled the cottage down at night.

Additionally, the main house -- which is a respectable distance away from the cottage -- was under renovation. The construction crew was very respectful of our space, but there was inevitable faint construction noise and busy-ness as the crew toted materials in and out. We are early risers and didn't spend days at the cottage, so this was not a real issue for us. There were two very large refuse containers that prohibited us from turning our car around so we had to back down the long lane. (Reverse is not a strong suit of mine).

All in all, we would highly recommend this charming cottage.

Charming and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

My sister, father and I stayed here for 2 nights. The accommodations are fabulous and we all slept comfortably. We sat out on the front porch and drank coffee in the morning and wine at night! Absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend it!

Relaxing cottage close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for my daughter's soccer tournament, and it was perfect! We had a beautiful yard to relax in between games and the kitchen was great for preparing our own meals. The cottage was perfectly clean and decorated tastefully. It's also close to a beach park on Lake Washington and to lots of restaurants and coffe shops. We will definitely be back if the team does this tournament next year.
