Enjoy the holidays in a winter wonderland! Located in a pedestrian friendly streamside environment against the backdrop of the Gore Range and Vail Mountain, walk to ski lifts, take a stroll around the town and enjoy great food and fun with the whole family. Convenient Town of Vail bus routes allow you to explore the entire Village in a matter of minutes.

Apollo Park is a condominium property situated along Gore Creek adjacent to Vail Village and Golden Peak. Week 52 is considered the prime ski week of the year and traditionally the snowfall is excellent. Plus, during the holiday season there is abundance of events and activities.

A-301 is a top-floor unit located on the easternmost end of the property, so it boasts more windows to frame the beautiful views and to flood interiors with natural light. It has two bedrooms (1 private with a queen bed and 1 loft with two single beds) plus a pull-out sofa and there is one full bath on the main level. This configuration is ideal for a family of five or two couples.

The unit has an updated full kitchen in which to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner. Interior spaces have an open plan arrangement connecting kitchen and dining areas to the living area. There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy TV or DVD programs by the gas log fireplace. Just off the dining area there’s an east-facing balcony perfect for morning sun and coffee. Also on site is a heated outdoor pool and free parking.

If you need supplies there is a City Market and a Safeway in West Vail about 7 minutes by car. There are options to buy fresh veggies, wines, cheeses and specialty items within walking distance in Vail Village.

Frequently recognized as one of North America’s best ski mountains, Vail offers some of the finest terrain in the world. If you are new to skiing at Vail, you’ll quickly find that perhaps its greatest asset is its vast array of ski runs for all skill levels. These are easily accessible and there are always pockets of good snow to be found. The “back bowls” are legendary and when the snow flies these offer an exhilarating skiing experience. For beginners Vail performs daily grooming—smoothing out snow and leaving it soft as silk and looking like corduroy.

The quiet streamside setting is a short 5 minute walk to Vail Village or Golden Peak lifts or to the area’s unique shops and extraordinary restaurants. Add to the Village a visit to Lion’s Head and you can browse hundreds of shops of all types from boutiques to outdoor gear to art galleries. Find the perfect boots (ski boots to cowboy boots), elegant jewelry, cocktail dresses, apparel and art.

There are restaurants for every taste and price point and numerous bistros and cafes. With pedestrian districts lined with restaurants and pubs there are an abundance of food and entertainment options all within easy walking distance or via Vail’s free bus. For those with a sweet tooth there are ice cream, gelato and candy shops open late into the evening serving savory treats year round.

Once the sun sets, après ski gives way to many vibrant happenings. There is a setting and experience for every taste from quiet cafes to sing-along piano bars to night clubs with DJs or live music. For families there’s even a nighttime gondola ride to a mountaintop restaurant.

Lift tickets may be purchased in advance or at the ticket windows “on the hill” and there are many options for ski rentals in Vail Village, Golden Peak or Lions Heads. Many folks find it convenient to store their skis overnight. One to the local’s favorites for storage is Vista Bahn Ski Rentals at the top of Bridge Street just below Los Amigos Mexican restaurant. They’ll even throw in a ski waxing as part of the storage fee.

Whether you’re an avid skier or prefer the breathtaking natural beauty of the mountain setting, Vail certainly lives up to its billing.
