About the property

Beautiful Home On Lake Skegemog (Close To Everything)

Need a getaway? Come stay at The Ravens' Nest on Lake Skegemog. Torch and Elk Lakes are only a short boat ride away. Elk Lake can be seen from the back yard and Torch River is directly across Lake Skegemog from the home. These Chain O’ Lakes are famous for their crystal clear, Caribbean blue waters. Want to know why Lake Skegemog is the best choice? The water is warmer due to shallower shores, the lake is calmer and quieter with less boaters and homes, and it is in the center of Torch and Elk providing easy access to both.

Lake Skegemog is an all sports lake and is home to some of the best fishing in Northwest Michigan including an abundance of bass, white fish and perch. The Ravens' Nest is 6 minutes from Turtle Creek Casino, 15 minutes from Traverse City, and 30 minutes from Shanty Creek. The area is known for Michigan’s finest golf courses (The Bear, Elmbrook, Shanty Creek, & Hawk’s Eye), summer water sports, winter snow sports, breweries, wineries, casinos, unique shops, museums, horse shows, and much more!

The Ravens' Nest is a ranch style home with 70’ of waterfront right out the back door. It has a long, paved driveway and is located on a dead-end street. The yard is large and grassy providing plenty of room for relaxation, lawn games, and bonfires. Step down to the water from the small sea wall or jump in from the dock! The water is crystal clear and beautiful. Walk from the shallow, smooth rock shore (bottom becomes sandy a few feet from shore) out to the sand bar. Launch your boat only a mile from the home!

As one of the closest homes to the water, you will have perfect views of the lake from the living room, master suite, or deck when staying at The Ravens' Nest. The home has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a large living space. The living room has a full sleeper sofa and plenty of seating. The kitchen, larger than most on the water, is fully equipped with dishes, small and large appliances, cookware and anything else you may need.

Sleep soundly on a large king bed in the master suite, cozy pillow-top queen mattresses in 2 bedrooms or 2 twin mattresses in the 4th room. Each room has a full size closet and dresser for plenty of storage space. All bathroom and bedroom linens are provided. A washer and dryer are also included. A new grill, outdoor furniture, and a fire pit are available for your enjoyment.

If you grow tired of relaxing by the water, head to downtown Alden, Elk Rapids, or Traverse City for great restaurants, ice cream shops and boutiques. There is so much to do, and everything is so close … you will love staying at The Ravens' Nest!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Raven's Nest! Amanda and Bob, the owners have taken excellent care of the place and it shows. From the cute decor, spacious rooms, cleanliness, closeness to Traverse City, and ease of working with the owners this place is definitely a place that we will rent again!

Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is like being at your own home. It's so cozy. It is very clean and very spacious. I loved that the master bedroom and bathroom connected was on the total opposite side of the other bedrooms. This cottage had everything you can think of. Amanda and Bob the owners are so kind and take such great care of this cottage. I would recommend this cottage for anyone and the worst part about this place is when you have to leave. We truly enjoyed every minute at the Ravens Nest.

Absolutely perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

We loved The Raven's Nest on Lake Skegemog. The cottage is spacious, very clean, cozy, charming and has everything you need! There are restaurants nearby, but the best option is to grill something there and eat out on the beautiful deck that is a few steps from the lake. What an amazing view!!! So peaceful and relaxing. A swan even came to visit. There is nothing not to like! Plus, everything you might need is close by.... Meijers, drugstore, markets, and Traverse City is a 25 minute drive. We loved every minute of time there.

Wonderful visit!

  • 5 of 5

After many years staying at our own cottage on Torch Lake (south end), we sadly sold it. We still love the area and head up every couple years by renting a place.....and we were so blessed to find this charmer! It was perfect in every way.....and actually more convenient than our previous place on Torch. A quick drive to the airport, Meijer, and Charlevoix.....all places we had to get to quick throughout the week. Amanda kept in touch every step of the way and immediately responded to texts (such as the gas just ran out on the grill.....can I go fill it?). Held our family of 10 perfectly. Would absolutely stay here again.....personally I found it better than staying on Torch (warmer water, better fishing, much quieter lake, and only quick boat rides to Torch and Elk). If it is open, snag this place up......you will not be disappointed!!!!!

The Raven's Nest is Incredible!

  • 5 of 5

My family absolutely loved our stay at the Raven's Nest. The cottage comfortably sleeps 8 and is in the perfect location. We were minutes from Traverse and a lot of nearby activities. We loved the views, the fire pit, and the all around good time. Everything was clean and spacious. I'd recommend this to families or the couple looking for a romantic getaway. We will definitely be back!

Spring Getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to stay in the middle of May. Everything was clean and in order when we arrived. They call this a cottage but it is really a home with all of the things that go with it. The addition of the new master bedroom is super with lots of room to move around. The deck is large and open to the beautiful lake front. The location is ideal just a short drive of the main road but far enough from the hustle and bustle to give you that up north feeling. Traverse City is just a short drive away and we went on several wine tours with all the trees in full bloom and the blue lakes and bays it is a turly a beautiful place to stay.
