A small family will love this recently upgraded Kailua-Kona condominium. This condo is a unit within Casa De Emdeko. The complex resides in a gorgeous location amongst the bluffs of the ocean. The beach, hiking trails, and the Keolonahihi State Historical Park are all a short drive or Uber away. Whether you wish to relax by the pool or go on a daytrip adventure, this vacation rental has it all. With 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, up to 3 guests can be accommodated.

The vacation home unveils into an open floor plan showcasing tropical decor and details throughout. Seating options are arranged in front of a mounted flat screen TV. WiFi and air conditioning are equipped to ensure your comfort. The couch also functions as a sofa sleeper. Guests will love unwinding in the room and watching TV or a movie at night.

Across from the living room is a gourmet kitchen. A chef will truly appreciate the remodeled area with granite counter tops and updated appliances. Whip up a tasty acai bowl or cook a delicious meal for the whole family. A built-in breakfast bar for 2 allows guests to keep the chef company. If you prefer dining alfresco, step out onto the private lanai. Patio seating is arranged so you can eat a meal or sip on a pina colada while you overlook the partial ocean views and gardens.

When you are ready to catch some Z's, down the hall is a master bedroom. The master bedroom has a luxurious King-sized bed and TV. There is an attached master bathroom for privacy. Getting ready in here is a breeze with his-and-her sinks.

Gated grounds,2 pools and waterfall garden in center, of all rooms

Was put off by the big deal made of do your own trash and wash all laundry before you leave!! Had to pay like at a laundry mat..not a common thing to expect. Had to buy toilet paper.. The laundry room wasn't open until 10am, so had to spend a lot of time on our last day to get access.

The two pools were in good condition, but was caught off guard finding there was no accessible beach. but you could look over a wall at the lava rocks.

Lots of insects, the crew came a sprayed all the units once a week. there are no sidewalks to walk the area. Hazardous to try to negotiate the edge of the road. Around noon the traffic piles up every day. So had to add extra time to go places from location. No handy restaurants,coffee shops. Rooms were clean, Blinds going out to the lanai were broken and some missing, thus so privacy for meals and hanging out. Did love all the birds, they are accustomed to being feed and swoop in for crumbs and treats continually. Lots of lizards,around the lava rocks eels live an squirm about. have to go off site to snorkel or swim in the ocean. For us the salt water pool is awesome. great to teach toddlers how to snorkel ect. Of course weather was awesome and interesting take on the island with all the lava rocks coast line. bring tennis shoes, the 'sand' on the beaches is coarse and hurts your feet. the oine saving grace was the other vacationers at the units were easy to get along with.

Great location! Issues with the AC and Construction Noise

Location is great. Unit has been updated and is well-stocked. Oceanfront saltwater pool is a real gem.

My husband and I have used VRBO for many years, mostly very satisfied with our vacation rentals. This time was different. I booked about a month in advance for a 14 night stay, and paid in full. We've been to Kona before (a few times) and wanted to stay not in town, but close to town. We would also have to do some work while there, so AC was a must as we'd be in the unit working. Upon arrival, there was a notification on the counter that the AC was not working properly and not to use it. I immediately emailed the office of the management company; however, since check-in is not until 4pm and I emailed them shortly thereafter, they were already gone for the day. A repairman was scheduled for Day 3 of our stay, with a window of 10-12pm, and we elected to be present. It appeared the repair was more in-depth than originally thought as the repairman enlisted the aid of a second repairman to complete the job. Both were in our unit for a total of 2 hours and 20 minutes, and failed to sweep up the sheetrock dust from cutting a hole in the hallway ceiling. AC seemed to be working after that until our last day when the unit started dripping water again.

On Day 2 of our stay, we noticed a construction crew in the parking lot. One of the workers told us that they were installing two gates on the property to separate Casa de Emdeko from the retail space in front. Our unit was very close to the south side where construction was happening - lots of very loud jack hammering to install support posts for the gate. This construction continued daily for the duration of our stay. The management company, claimed they had no prior knowledge of this scheduled construction. While I have to take them at their word, this was no small project, something that had to be planned far in advance. As a customer, I would have appreciated it if this would have been disclosed on the VRBO listing, then I would have had a CHOICE whether to book there or elsewhere.

After MANY emails to many different people affiliated with the management company, for compensation for the inconveniences experienced, I was allowed a late check-out with no additional charge, and refunded back to my CC approx 2 nights rental fee. We departed on Oct 2, refund was processed on Oct 13.

Compensation is not adequate. I am not satisfied.

VRBO was better when it was only owners.
