About Owner/Property Manager

I bought this condo in 2013 as a family condo. I retired from nursing in 2015 and I wanted to have a place my family could get together and enjoy all that the Crested Butte area offers... skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, cruiser biking, hiking, fishing, walks through the wildflowers and just relaxing -- my favorite! My family has enjoyed the small-town feel of Crested Butte, the great people, and the many adventures within minutes of the condo. I want to make sure your experience is the best, so feel free to email with questions and suggestions. Enjoy Colorado - it is a special place!

Cozy and comfortable

  • 3 of 5

A nice affordable little condo. No elevator was a bit rough being on the third floor and carrying luggage and gear up. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but everything else was great. I would go back.

It worked well enough. Clean and well- appointed kitchen. Strange entrance through bedrooms, and no views. This is not the owners problem, but the complex has so much wasted space - it should put in ski lockers?? It would be a long walk to the ski base but there is a bus that comes by regularly.

Another comment that has to do with all VRBO's we've stayed with. I wish that the owners would just put the cleaning fee in with the daily charge. Like a hotel. It also drives me crazy that in most places I've stayed they ask you to do some of the cleaning when we're paying for someone else to do it like: take out trash, clean dishes, strip sheets. Why are we paying a cleaning fee. This isn't directed at just this owner - but all of them.

Cozy place, great location!

  • 4 of 5

The condo was perfect for our needs. It was clean, and everything was in working order. The beds were comfy. It is not a fancy place, but it was nice and cozy and you really can't beat the price. The location is really great, its about a 10 minute walk to the lifts, and the shuttle stops right outside, which only takes 5 minutes to get to the lifts. You can also catch a bus into town which was very convenient and easy. I would have given it 5 stars except for the parking at the Three Seasons was kind of a pain. Just an FYI if you are staying here they only allow 2 vehicles per unit, so plan accordingly or be prepared to have to park in town. It is probably okay in the summer, but in the winter if you park down in town you have to move your vehicle daily because of plowing ordinances. Which is reasonable, but we expected to be able to park onsite. My only recommendation to improve the condo would be to equip the kitchen with a slow cooker.

We had a great time, thank you very much!

Ultimately convenient, but rustic/dated and odd layout

  • 3 of 5

The Good: Very nice owner, good communication from her son in law who maintains the property. If you just want to ski and spend little time at the condo, this property is good. Very convenient. In Mt. Crested Butte, with a bus shuttle to the slopes right outside the door of the complex (RIGHT outside the door). On the bus, and you are at the mountain base in less than 5 minutes. We parked our car once, skied for three days, and never moved the car. Easy walk to mountain base for the limited dining options there, but not with your ski gear . . . . take the bus per the above. The Not So Good: the arrangement is essentially two small hotels rooms (2 entrances to the unit side by side from a large central corridor inside the building) connected by a small kitchen and living room in the back. Not much space for wife and two teenage children. It is a bit weird walking through one of the two bedrooms to enter the unit. Decor is 1970's/1980's and in need of updating. Let me be clear: everything worked and it was perfectly clean.. Our largest complaint was that the condo was not well stocked. This property is located in Mt. Crested Butte, at the ski area, and there is one very (VERY) small general store. So make sure you stock up in Gunnison or the town of Crested Butte on food and essentials before you arrive because there is virtually nothing available at the ski area. With regard to stocking the condo: I'm not asking for much, but having to go find toilet paper on New Years Eve in the ski area was not my idea of fun. And I am not a fan of mason jars for drinking glasses. Bottom line: Nice people, ultimately convenient for skiing CB. However it is small, oddly arranged, in need of updating, and more attention needs to be paid to bare essentials for your guests particularly in light of the lack of stores near the condo.
