Located in a Historic District on the Slope above Downtown San Diego, this highly upgraded 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom private unit is located in a historically designated Queen Ann Victorian building. It is completely private with its own kitchen, bathroom, living area and bedroom. No expense was spared in the design of this highly upgraded unit which accommodates 4 guests. The living area features a high quality leather couch which opens up to a Queen size sofa bed, high ceilings, gorgeous high quality rugs and porcelain tile, ceiling fan, LED smart TV, dining table and chairs framed by oversize Victorian wood windows. The kitchen is beautifully designed with granite counters, accent cabinet lights, built-in microwave, flat top electric stove, refrigerator and everything you will need to cook complete meals during your stay with us. There is a very large attic/storage area accessed via pull-down stairs in which luggage can be stored. The bathroom is new and is equipped with plenty of quality plush towels. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a blow dryer are also provided. The bedroom features a Queen bed, mirrored closet wardrobe doors, LED Smart TV, ceiling fan and air conditioner. Both the Queen bed and sofa bed have memory foam mattresses which are very comfortable. Both smart TV’s have streaming capability and with access to Netflix free of charge. Wifi service is also provided free of charge. Additional items provided to our guests include beach chairs, beach towels, a boogie board, lighted make-up mirror, an iron and ironing board and a high chair as well as plates, bowls and utensils the little ones. A pack and play playpen and umbrella stroller are provided upon request. The unit is beautifully decorated with furniture and drapes of modern classic design. Our property is located 5 minutes driving distance to the Convention Center, Gas Lamp district, Ball Park, Coronado Island, the Airport, Balboa Park and the Zoo. Freeway access is located around the corner and bus stop transits to and from downtown are located within a block of the property and local beaches are within easy driving distance. Some of Golden Hill’s most popular spots such as the Turf Club, Panchitas Bakery, Krakatoa Coffee Shop, Luigi's Pizza and Golden Hill Park are within walking distance. Additional features in the common areas include a Barbecue Grill, Gazebo with table and chairs and a Fire Pit with wood provided. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and city views from the patio table and chairs provided on the front porch. Grill your favorite foods on a gourmet barbecue and relax with dinner under a lighted Gazebo. About John Reardon

I grew up in Northampton Massachusetts, a town with countless beautiful old homes and lots of woods. I spent countless days in my youth building tree forts never knowing that those 2 dynamics would intersect at this point. Upon arriving in San Diego with an interest in building and purchasing real estate, I became immediately interested in the largely neglected Victorian buildings in this area of town. This property became a labor of love for me many years ago and I hope that legacy will be carried forward by my 3 sons. My wife if Japanese, so our family often divides our time between 2 very different worlds, both with much to offer.

Very nice

Although it is an Uber ride (35 minute walk....and a little sketchy) away from the Gas Lamp District it is a fantastic home away from home in a up and coming part of town. As a solo female, I felt very safe and the accommodations were very nice and very clean. John was available for questions and help when necessary. Absolutely would recommend this to friends, family and anyone looking for a great place to stay while in San Diego.

Nice place to stay

The primary bed was very comfortable. . . the pull out couch . . . not so much. The unit was clean and very comfortable. The unit was well maintained and access was easy. Nice location for the convention center and Balboa park. Owner checked in with us to make sure everything was going well, or to see if we needed anything. A very nice touch! There were some fun places to eat in the neighborhood within walking distance.

I would rent this property again. Great Service.

The owner was available to talk with us almost all the time when we called.

We were very much appreciated when we had minor problem only with the TV in the bedroom, the owner on his own he stated that he will be crediting us 1 night stay and will be refunding us the deposit. The locations and cleanliness are:

1- very close to the free way entrance and exit and it was a Quite place, Clean, and Organized.

2- had everything we needed.

3- Free Netflix it was nice to have And free Wifi

4- We were very happy staying in this place.

5- We recommend it to everyone.

A really good apartment in a great old home.

We enjoyed the property and our time in San Diego. We stayed for 7 nights. It was a charming old home with a porch.

My husband and I had a great bedroom. The bathroom and kitchen areas was adequate and we were comfortable. The kitchen had some stipends that were very helpful.

Many beach items including generous beach towels, bogie board and beach chairs were made available.

We felt is was decorated quite nicely and was homey.

John was the manager and was always available for questions.

It would have been a perfect spot for just the too of us, a little small for 3 adults. My son was 18. It may accommodate 2 adults and 1-2 children better.

My sons hide a bed was inadequate sadly, He stated it was at "obtuse angle". The hide a bed as a couch did not do a much better job. We felt a more appropriate dinette set would have been helpful as well. The table that is there is more decorative.

There is a very nice common area with a grill, picnic table and fire pit. This can be used for group meals as well.

Parking was an issue at times. No on sight parking.

Close to downtown was a benefit. We were able to walk to restaurants and some activities.
