You have certainly set the standard for our future cabin adventure expectations! We don't believe there's much you could have missed in making the cabin a "home away from home," (if there is, we obviously didn't have a need for it). We wish we could have had more "cabin time," but with all the sights and experiences to be had in Yellowstone, it just didn't happen. We really enjoyed seeing all the animals; from mule deer that greeted us every morning outside the cabin to the coyote, antelope, sheep, bison, eagles, grizzly bear, moose and elk. We got an awesome video of a big bull elk ramming a car , then bugling in Mammoth Hot Springs yesterday. Yellowstone was on our bucket list and your cabin helped make it a "10"!
Note to others: Take a drive up Tom Miner Creek Road - it's awesome & that's where we saw the grizzly bear.
We stayed in the cottage for 4 days because of its close proximity to the North Entrance of Yellowstone. We found by the time we arrived after doing the West and South entrance to Yellowstone we were ready to relax without a planned schedule. We did venture into the park one day but then explored all the paradise valley had to offer. We rafted down the Yellowstone river, my husband fly fished and caught 3 good sized trout, and we went on a hike to the petrified forest. The cottage was very well appointed and extremely clean. We had alot of fun playing games in the grassy yard.
This was a delightful little cabin tucked in around the mountains. We stayed here two nights during our visit to Yellowstone and wish we had another day. The cabin is well decorated and very clean and the owners have thought of everything. Lots of DVDs, board games, outdoor games, and a fire pit. Beds are comfortable. Towels and dishes are all provided. It was a definite plus to have a washer and dryer to get some of our vacation laundry done. The owner must live close by because once I let her know we would be arriving late, she went and turned on the porch light for us. It is a beautiful area and we were treated to an amazing rainbow after a short rain shower. If we ever return to the area, THIS is where we will stay! I loved my morning coffee on the deck! I highly recommend!
We stayed at the cottage for two nights and loved it! It is very clean and well-appointed with everything you need for a weekend or longer! The kids enjoyed the comfy beds, the fire pit, and outdoor games and yard. We enjoyed the quiet and beautiful surroundings and wished we would have had more time to spend here. We will be back for sure and have already told several friends about this wonderful getaway!
We stayed at Susan's cottage for two nights. The cottage is greater than the pictures show, it is very clean, has every amenity we needed, and is very close to the old entrance to Yellowstone. The home has a great fire pit with sticks for roasting marshmallows. A few dozen deer were there to greet us each morning and sit in the yard. The home is very bright in the morning, has cable in case we wanted to catch up on anything, and even board games!!! The house was awesome!
The cottage is on a forrest service road with easy access year around. It is 7 minutes to Hwy. 89 S...which takes you to Gardiner, MT - the North Entrance of Yellowstone, about 20 minute drive.
