We are located in the Yachting Community of Cape Coral which has 400 miles over Canals, that's more than Venice Italy! We sit directly on the canal so you can enjoy watching the Dolphins, Manatees and Stingrays swimming along.
Our reviews speak for themselves. As proud vacation home owners, because we always dreamed of having one, we want to make our guests feel the same magic we felt when we spend time there in South West Florida.
If boating is your passion, then you will truly enjoying watching the Yachts on their way to the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico as you lounge by your private Heated Pool complete with a mini hot tub for two or just sit on the dock and the sunsets.
The home is conveniently located near Cape Coral Beach and is about 10 mins drive to Downtown Fort Myers. Visit the Ford and Edison Estates if you like taking in some history or take in some local seafood at Joe Crabshack.
The location is ideal for the ladies in the group because it is only 25 minutes drive to Fort Myers Beach or 30 minutes to Estero for shopping at outlet malls like Coconut Point Mall or Miromar Outlets or Tanger Outlet on your way to Sanibel Island on Summerlin Road.
For the guys, there are plenty of public Golf Courses around Cape Coral and Fort Myers to choose from like Eastwood (3.7 / 5.0) , Riverbend Golf Course (4.0 / 5.0), or Golf at Magnolia Landing (4.2 / 5.0), Eagle Ridge (3.6 / 5.0).
For those rich in taste, visit Downtown Naples and walk along 5th Avenue for some high end shops. Our advice is to go there for the view, or perhaps a coffee / glass of wine, but get your bargains at Tanger or Miromar Outlets.

About Michael Geraats
Catherine and Michael are first generation Canadians with parents from Germany, The Netherlands and Scotland. We love Florida, especially SW (South West) and particularly Cape Coral. The people are friendly, the beaches are clean and the weather is almost always sunny. We enjoy being hosts to our North American and European guests seeking a break from cold winters and in search of sun and fun.
Michael Geraats purchased this Villa in 2011
Why Michael Geraats chose Cape Coral
This property is located on a quiet street yet close enough to the main area of shopping on Del Prado Boulevard. You are only minutes away by car to take one of 2 bridges over to Fort Myers to explore Fort Myers Beach or Sanibel Island. Shopping outlets are nearby at Tanger Outlets or Miramar Outlets in Estero. Local Golf courses are very inexpensive with golf carts included.
What makes this Villa unique
The Southern facing backyard takes full advantage of the Florida sun which averages 266 days per year. It has a bright pool deck with pocket sliding glass doors that disappear behind the walls that really opens up the home to the outside. Also a huge Kitchen made us fall in love with this home as we normally like Eat-in kitchens where family discussions brings everyone together, as a break from their iPhones and iPads (well maybe not always ;-).

Nice place! Clean and very comfortable
This place was very nice and well equipped with everything you need, I would say be careful of power usage not to go over on power usage could cost you.
Thanks Eric for your review.
As vacation home owners, we provide a daily allowance of electricity (more generous than other owners) to cover running costs and even the pool heater in winter months to keep the pool warm for incoming guests.
In the spirit of full transparency, your party of 6 over a 9 day stay used 382 KW which was $57.30 electricity. As owners we paid $48.00 of that amount and you paid $9.30 to our property manager, Heidi. So you paid about $1.00/day for your electric usage. This is typical for most of our guests.
Fantastic Home for Families (or Two)
Everything from the check in process to the check out process was smooth. The home is immaculate as maintained by the owners, property manager Heidi and cleaning staff, Sabine. They were all helpful with reservations, recommendations and questions regarding any issues we had. The home has everything a family needs to be comfortable in regards to the kitchen being fully stocked, the linens and towels as well as the beach/pool towels, chairs and cooler. I would have liked to have at least one other bath towel per person as they get a little musty after having to use them for 5 days but we were able to grab a couple from the other bathroom (there are 3 bathrooms). We felt that the neighborhood was very safe and easily accessible by car to several restaurants. We are beach people and found the beaches to be within a 30 minute drive so that would be the only negative but we had no issue with exploring a different beach every day. Hope to visit them again next year!
Thank you Kelly for your review. It was a pleasure being your hosts along with our team Heidi and Sabine to make your stay comfortable. We will try to get more bath towels stocked.

Well maintained and as presented in pictures
Very nice location in Cape Coral, close to restaurants and area beaches. Would stay here again on a future visit.
Thank you Mike.
Large place. Photos were a good reflection of how the place looked. Pool and hot tub were nice. Very quiet residential street. Point 57 is a very good restaurant walking distance down the streeet. Would stay here again.
Thank you for your review Alastair.
warm regards, Michael & Catherine
Family really enjoyed Villa with Heated Salt Water Pool
Family members present ranged from 30 years old up to 88 years old. The villa was spacious enough that we did not feel on top of each other. All thoroughly enjoyed the Heated Salt Water Pool daily. If I ever install a pool it will be a Salt Water Pool. The view of the canal was a bonus. My brother-in-law spent much time by the canal fishing and caught several catfish with the supplied pole. The linens, and bath, beach, and kitchen towels were all supplied and in good condition. All of the cooking and cleaning appliances looked relatively new and functioned well quietly. There was a good selection of dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils. There were several good restaurants close, but if you like margaritas then try one of the nearby Mexico Lindo's grande margaritas :) The initial few problems with some lighting fixtures were immediately fixed. We were there only a month, but I would definitely consider renting this villa again for longer.
Thank you Russell for your review. We enjoyed being your hosts and helping you with suggestions on where to go and what to see with elders in the group. Also appreciate the comments about Salt Water pool. As owners, we installed the Salt Water system knowing that children usually want to stay for long periods in the pool on vacation. The benefit is no skin irritation that occurs otherwise with Chlorine. Hope to see you back again.
warm regards, Michael & Catherine
Lovely, Relaxing Get Away
My husband and I stayed at the house for a week long "escape from the cold weather" at home. It was exactly what we were looking for and more. This is a huge house, but the price was reasonable and so the two of us enjoyed one "wing" of the house and did not need the other three beautiful bedrooms. We definitely would consider coming back with our whole family and there would be plenty of room! There was so much to love about the house. It is fully furnished with everything you need to cook for a large group. The kitchen is very spacious and organized. Our king size bed was very comfortable and the quality of linens was wonderful. The house is beautifully decorated. We enjoyed sitting by the pool or down at the dock on the river to have our breakfast and morning coffee. The neighborhood was always quiet and we walked or rode bikes that were there each day. Mike was super easy to communicate with and very responsive when we were booking. Heidi, the house manager, met us after we checked in to give us instructions about the pool and hot tub. Having beach bags, beach towels and coolers in the garage was very handy. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again in the future with our children.
Thank you Kay for your review and your stay ! We enjoyed being your host with Heidi as our concierge lady. We wish we were down there also with you enjoying the warm 85F weather Florida is getting this winter. But we are remote and love to live through your experience as we read your reviews. Thanks so much for your stay, take care and do come on back !
Cape Coral was founded in 1957. Real estate developers Leonard and Jack Rosen purchased a 103-square-mile (270 km2) tract known as Redfish Point for $678,000 in that year and, in 1958, began development of the city as a master-planned, pre-planned community.
The Gulf American Corporation (GAC) was formed to develop the area. Canals were dug, streets paved, houses and businesses built. Cape Coral was promoted like no other Florida development. Celebrities were brought in to tout the benefits of 'the Cape', as it is known locally. The first building was the Rosens' company headquarters, at the corner of Coronado and Cape Coral Parkway. Cape Coral's first permanent resident was Kenny Schwartz, the Rosens' general manager. Cape Coral's first four homes were completed in May 1958, on Riverside and Flamingo Drives. Gulf American operated a fleet of five Cessna 172 aircraft to show prospective buyers the development, flying 108,000 passengers in a single year.
Development continued through the early 1960s, mostly on Redfish Point, south of Cape Coral Parkway. By 1963, the population was 2,850; 1,300 buildings had been finished or were under construction; 80 mi (130 km) of road had been built, and 160 mi (260 km) of canals had been dug. The public yacht club, a golf course, medical clinic and shopping center were up and running. A major addition for Cape Coral was the construction of the 3,400 feet (1,000 m) long Cape Coral Bridge across the Caloosahatchee River, which opened in early 1964. Before the bridge, a trip to Fort Myers was more than 20 mi (32 km) via Del Prado Boulevard and over the Edison Bridge to cross the river.
There was a lot of hype, promotion and advertising. Celebrities like Bob Hope, Anita Bryant, and Hugh Downs were brought in. A movie with Phyllis Diller, The Fat Spy (1966), was filmed in Cape Coral and so were episodes of the TV show Route 66.
The city incorporated in August 1970, and its population continued to grow rapidly until the real estate slowdown that gripped the region beginning in 2008.
In its early years, Cape Coral was known as a community with many retired residents. This changed with a population and construction boom in the 1990s, which brought in younger families and professionals. Twenty percent of the population is seasonal residents. Nowadays, the city has a wide variety of businesses, retail shops and restaurants on its major arteries: Cape Coral Parkway, Del Prado Boulevard, Santa Barbara Boulevard and Pine Island Road.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 120 square miles, 110 square miles of it is land and 10 square miles of it (9%) is water. Cape Coral is a large peninsula and is bordered in the south and east by the Caloosahatchee River and in the west by Matlacha Pass. The city of Fort Myers lies across the Caloosahatchee River to the east, and Matlacha and Pine Island lie across Matlacha Pass to the west. Matlacha Pass is home to Matlacha Pass National Wildlife Refuge and the state's Matlacha Pass Aquatic Preserve.
Cape Coral Florida has over 400 miles of canals, more than any other city in the world. Most of the canals are navigable and some have access to the Gulf of Mexico. Cape Coral's canal system is so extensive that local ecology and tides have been affected.
