About Melicia Johnson

My husband and I live in San Antonio with our two children. I am a native Texan growing up in Victoria and my husband is from Mount Joy, Penn.

Melicia Johnson purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Melicia Johnson chose Johnson City

We bought this B & B from my Aunt and Uncle. They were using it as a bed and breakfast and they bought it when it was called Caroline's B & B.

What makes this cottage unique

What we love about this home is that it makes you want to kick back and relax. The town has all that you need but it offers you the luxury of traveling to other towns and cities in one day and back.

Super adorable house

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this house and we enjoyed it as much this time as the last time. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the sheets and blankets are crazy soft. We didn't want to get up in the morning!

I highly recommend this house to stay at for wine tasting in the hill country, it's conveniently located and the neighbors are quiet.

Enjoyed staying in every am for all the breakfast foods provided. Coffee was the bonus.

The cottage was warm, cozy and so relaxing. The location was perfect. No internet was great, a way to disconnect and read more. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we needed it.

Thanks, Joy and Bill

The worst of both worlds and terrible customer service

  • 1 of 5

It’s ok to have an old cottage with no WiFi when you are in a scenic and secluded area but this is one block from the busiest two roads with views of trailers and corrugated shacks.

The doorknobs all fell off and it is quite cramped in kitchen (no dishwasher) and bathroom but all of this could be forgiven...

However within 24 hours of a 3 day 2 night stay the shower head just rusted off. We were on our anniversary trip with hiking plans and weren’t able to shower. I left several messages to address that and Never got even a call back. There are way to many options to deal with that level of customer service and maintenance issues.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you had such an awful time. Never did you try to call me, because I had my phone with me at all times. If you had, I could and would have addressed the problem. You were not very good guests. You left the sink full of dirty dishes ( including glasses with milk in them) The house is over 100 years old, it is not going to have a gourmet kitchen. You parked your car on the front lawn, inches from the front door. You left over 20 cigarette butts in the bird bath. I am assuming it was coffee, but it looked like you had thrown it across the kitchen walls. I had to clean up **** under the toilet seat There was nothing wrong with the shower head before you got there. Hiding the "do not smoke" sign was immature. Yes the door handle on the door was wobbly, but it was an easy fix. I suggest the next time you book on VRBO, that you look at the amenities more closely, because it says that I do not have wifi . And, if you looked at the pictures, you would have noticed, there is no dishwasher.

Absolutely charming and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for! It is rightvoff of the main road, super clean and beautifully decorated. We wanted somewhere between Austin and Fredericksburg and this was spot on! The only note of caution is that when it says that it sleeps 4, I would only consider it for couples traveling with small children. For any other group, the cottage might be too small and/or uncomfortable. Other than this, we give it an extremely high recommendation!!! Thank you Melicia!
