About Melicia Johnson

My husband and I live in San Antonio with our two children. I am a native Texan growing up in Victoria and my husband is from Mount Joy, Penn.

Melicia Johnson purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Melicia Johnson chose Hill Country

We bought this B & B from my Aunt and Uncle. They were using it as a bed and breakfast and they bought it when it was called Caroline's B & B.

What makes this cottage unique

What we love about this home is that it makes you want to kick back and relax. The town has all that you need but it offers you the luxury of traveling to other towns and cities in one day and back.

Great location, Very Clean, Great A/C in August!

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay, from the inquiry to book, our arrival (with just

baked cookies to greet us!) and throughout the two days we spent there.

Cozy and beautifully decorated!

  • 5 of 5

Hubby & I stayed 3 nights the Picket House. Melicia had warm cookies ready for us when we arrived. The location was perfect for our day trips to Wimberly, Bandera and Blanco. The only thing that was missing was wifi and that ended up being a blessing because I couldn't work! I was a little concerned about the location being so close to the highway but we slept great all 3 nights! The only thing we heard was the cooing of a flock of dove that must live in the oak trees above the house. I highly recommend the Picket House for a cozy get away for a couple.

Adorable Cottage!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 17th anniversary at the Pickett House. It is so adorable! It is an older cottage that is very comfortable. The owner has decorated it so beautifully with colorful paintings, throw pillows and old and new knick knacks. The owner provides everything to make your stay comfortable. There is a cute fully stocked kitchen with an old school stove. There is breakfast foods- cereals, yogurts, bars, juice, milk and coffee. Living room with flat screen with cable, air conditioning that works great, a wonderfully comfortable bed, a nice sitting/reading area and full bath. The outdoor space is also nice. There is a porch with a nice table and chairs, a swing, and bbq pit in the yard. The only thing I would suggest is scented candles or deodorizer in the front room. The living room has a musty odor that hits you when you enter the cottage.

The Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This early 1900's house was perfect in every way for two. It's decorated super cute, has all the updates and great sitting areas outside. The kitchen is stocked and even has wonderful snacks. Just off Hwy 290, it's 25 minutes to Fredricksburg. If you start wine tasting far out, you can end up just 15 minutes away. Thank You Melicia! You were always available and made our day with the fresh cookies at checkin!
