About Melicia Johnson
My husband and I live in San Antonio with our two children. I am a native Texan growing up in Victoria and my husband is from Mount Joy, Penn.
Melicia Johnson purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Melicia Johnson chose Johnson City
We bought this B & B from my Aunt and Uncle. They were using it as a bed and breakfast and they bought it when it was called Caroline's B & B.
What makes this Cottage unique
What we love about this home is that it makes you want to kick back and relax. The town has all that you need but it offers you the luxury of traveling to other towns and cities in one day and back.

This bungalow provided everything we needed for a girl's weekend. Added extras were a variety of breakfast items, coffee, tea, fresh flowers and a very comfortable bed. We'd recommend this place without reservation!!
The Picket House is a very comfortable place to stay for 2 people!
My husband and I like to come to the Hill country for Thanksgiving and the weekend. We cooked a Thanksgiving meal and spent this weekend wine tasting, hiking at Pedernales Falls State Park and kayaking at Canyon Lake. It is a great "base camp" and the owner provided everything we needed. It is easy walking to little shops and there are a couple of good restaurants nearby. Its central location helped us to plan some great adventures from Canyon Lake to Fredericksburg to Driftwood to Boerne! The house is very clean, nicely decorated, quite comfortable. The bathroom sink area was a little cramped but every supply we needed in the kitchen and bathroom were provided. There is no dishwasher as we knew and no wifi, but plenty of room to wash and dry dishes ourselves in the nice sized kitchen. We really only spent late evenings and mornings there. Its a great little stone house and everything worked! The front door is a little tricky but you'll figure it out! We had a great visit and would stay here again. I recommend it for anyone.
Loved the location!!
Very nice and cozy house! Beautifully decorated! Perfect for a weekend get away!!
If I could pick up this property and take it with me...I would!!!
This is the cutest little abode I've seen in some time. Melicia has decorated is so wonderfully and added small touches in the kitchen, not expected: k-cups and distilled water for coffee, small boxes of cereal and oatmeal packets with small container of milk in frig for breakfasts, small snacks. The bed was super comfy and the shower was roomy with good water flow.
Melicia was very attentive to our text inquiries and so kind. I so enjoyed staying in Johnson City...some small shopping spots and you MUST eat at Bryan's on 290. Fantastic meal!!!
Cozy, comfortable and conveniently located!
We really loved staying at the Pickett House again! The house is so tidy and comfortable. We can't wait until our next visit!
A Little Gem
My husband and I spent the weekend end in Johnson City attending the annual Texas Lavender Association meeting. We decided to look for a VRBO instead of staying in one of the local motels. We are so glad that we did!! The Pickett House was absolutely wonderful! The location was great, just off the main road to downtown. Everything was ready for us when we arrived. We would definitely recommend the Pickett House as a great place to stay!
Thank you! I enjoyed having you guys as guests.
