About Lee

I am a retired Beach Bum where the biggest decision I make is 'which beach?'

Lee purchased this house in 2001

Why Lee chose Orange County

I grew up here, and I just love Capistrano Beach. It is the birthplace of surfing. This section of California is one of the last true surf communities left in the state, and does not have the urban feel or Los Angeles, San Diego or Newport Beach. Come here to relax, be with family, and nurture relationships.

What makes this house unique

The weather is fantastic and the walks are terrific.

Map

A full court Basketball court on the beach is located less than 500 feet away.

Perfect weather, turquoise water

  • 5 of 5

The owner Lee was great to deal with. The location was fantastic. We had a huge family reunion for a week and everyone raved about the two houses and the view. Having two open concept kitchens with two dining rooms and living rooms plus two decks always gave us lots of space. The house is a tiny bit run down here and there but that's because it's right on the ocean. The water is a gorgeous color and you have 180 degree views. We had plenty of parking for eight cars. Two inside the garage, two in the driveway, three just across the private road and more 100 feet down the road. We rode bikes, walked along the beach to the pier, kayaked in the marina, went deep sea fishing, ran along the beachside bike path, flew drones and had bbq's. We were there in late June and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. The first couple days it got into the low 80's but the rest of the time it was in the low 70's with little wind so it was completely pleasant. The water is a little cold and the surf breaks kind of hard so it's not really a great swimming spot but some people went in. The private road and guard gate make the location feel completely safe and exclusive.

Owner's Response: Thank you! We are constantly working on the home and am fighting the salty air. It's like owning a yacht!

Family Christmas Gathering at Capistrano Beach

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful time we had at this Capistrano Beach location. I spent the time with my extended family of 20 (5 siblings, our spouses, and young adult children). It served as our Christmas get-together. The house was well furnished, spacious, and clean. You certainly can’t beat the location right on the sand and Catalina bright in the distance. Spectacular! The weather was perfect! We all had plenty of space to spread out, enjoyed long walks along the beach, delighted in fabulous sunsets, and lounged on the two decks. Some of us even braved the water in December! It was fun watching the changing tides and even though pebbles came and went, they weren’t the least bit bothersome. The owner’s correspondence was thorough, with no surprises. Dealing with Lee was a pleasure. We all had such a great time that we are going to do it again next year!

Excellent Location for a Big Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the beach house. We rented the whole house to accommodate our extended family of 18. Everyone had plenty of space. The house was very clean and well-stocked. The beach is literally steps away. We were lucky in that during our stay the beach was very sandy -- it was only on the last day that the rocks washed up. It was amazing to see dolphins and sea lions right outside! The kids had a blast playing in the waves, we all walked along the beach, and it was very close proximity to grocery, parks, restaurants etc. Lee was very responsive and a pleasure to work with - we will definitely come back again!

School Trip

  • 5 of 5

I just returned from a fantastic week in Dana Point. The house was clean, comfortable and perfect for our Senior Class Trip. We have only 16 seniors, plus 4 adult chaperones. Lee assured me the beach was in good shape, and boy was he right. It was the best section of beach in the neighborhood! We enjoyed warm weather with whales and dolphins right out in front of us. On two nights we enjoyed a bon fire. The kids told stories and made smores. Not only would I recomend this home to others, I hope I can rent it for myself another day!!

Paradise on Beach Road

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I arrived in Capistrano Beach on January 26, 2016, a graceful curve of southern California coastline between San Clement and Dana Point. As this was our seventh visit, we arrived on a picture perfect winter day with high expectations and were not disappointed. The month long stay was absolute perfection - the Pacific Ocean rich with sea life on one side and the palisades on the other. We so appreciate the quiet beach life and privacy of the community – approximately 160 homes on a mile and a half stretch of beach with constantly changing tides, sand and rock formations. The house, filled with sunshine and warmth, is cozy and offers plenty of space for all of us (ranging in age from 5 years to 98 years). The third floor bedroom has floor to ceiling windows with comfortable seating to enjoy the spectacular ocean views. The second floor has four bedrooms, two baths, a well-equipped kitchen, an open living and dining area, and a balcony. We felt indulged and energized as we savored the pleasures of paradise. Every morning we were greeted with a tasty cup of coffee from Coffee Importers in the Dana Point Marina, and every evening we experienced a culinary delight – all within walking distance. In addition to the comfort and space of the beach house, Lee was very welcoming and responsive to our requests; he did not disappoint. We hated to leave – the mark of a great stay – and dream of our next visit to Capistrano Beach.

Happy Vacationers

  • 5 of 5

In contrast to a recent reviewer, my wife and I have greatly enjoyed our stay at this beach home! We stayed in the lower or sand level , 2 weeks, and then moved to the upper two floors for the remainder of our 45 day stay! We had stayed here previously and after that 10 day visit , knew we would love to stay at the beach house longer when we returned in February 2016! It has been an enjoyable experience with Lee and he couldn't have been more accommodating !

The beach is fabulous and seems to change with the tides and sand rock formations are fascinating, which I never appreciated before as we had never stayed this long before RIGHT ON THE BEACH, litterally. But there still is easy access to the sand and this past week we sunbathed on it without ever having been threatened by water.

My wife and I became friends with a very fine gentleman, who was hired by Lee, the owner, to build a stairway to the beach when some of the sand washed away. Many of the home owners on Capistrano Beach, have had to build sea walls because of the high surf this year , and hence a very short safe steps down to the beach. Really no big deal.

The air flow is great in the house and screens are not necessary as it is where we come from. We thought the home was clean and never experienced any type of annoyance that other reviewer experienced. The danger to young children does not exist if doors are kept locked to certain areas, which they were when we arrived.

I have to say, that this house is magical in its view of the ocean from the 3rd floor, and the extra bedrooms were great on the second floor for our children and young grandchildren that stayed with us for part of our stay! Believe me, this was a Spring break vacation that our two granddaughters and grandson will never forget!! The beach campfire that we had 4 times, built memories for this family that I will always remember !! Thank you Lee!
