About Property Manager/Owner
My family bought our summer cabin on the property in 1958 and spent all our summers there. I couldn't bear to tear down the family cabin so I built Lake Tahoe Chalet in front of it. I'm a skier myself so I don't do longer than 3 week rentals in the winter. Now we enjoy views of the lake from the Chalet windows and still have the original cabin on site.
Property Manager/Owner purchased this Chalet in 1958
Why Property Manager/Owner chose Tahoe City
Lake Tahoe Chalet is only two blocks from the Tahoe City commons beach, restaurants and the Marina. It is two blocks from the Tahoe rim trail and one block from the Tahoe City golf course where you can cross country ski and sled in the winter and it is close to Homewood, Alpine and Squaw Valley and Northstar.
What makes this Chalet unique
The beautiful rounded windows bring in light and warmth in summer and winter. It has two fireplaces, a wonderful deep bathtub with a fireplace in the master bedroom and bathroom. The lovely view alcove on the top floor has views of the golf course and mountains. Artistic stained glass work, quilt wall hangings and original art add to the decor. Front and back decks provide tables for morning sun and afternoon shade or sun.. It has a gas barbecue, a two car garage with a ping pong table and is filled with games, puzzles and books for all ages..

Beautiful, comfortable, warm, convenient home
We stayed here for our first vacation as a new family. It was so easy, cozy, and convenient to stay here with our four-month old baby. We were in heaven. The house is on a quiet street with almost no traffic in a family neighborhood, but you can walk to everything in Tahoe City. We put our baby in a carrier and walked to the beach, out to dinner, to a brewery, and to shops. When we arrived (late at night) everything was easy to figure out and the heating system warmed up the whole house right away. We had all that we needed to cook and eat together; we made some awesome breakfasts there. The great room has beautiful light and view of the trees changing colors. We put a Pack n Play in the middle and were able to cook, eat, hang out on the couches, or go on the deck all within sight of the baby. I also liked that the master bedroom is on the same floor, so we didn't have to navigate stairs at night or first thing in the morning while holding the baby. The bathtub in the master bathroom is amazing, I felt so spoiled getting to take a couple baths. The house was spotless so I felt very comfortable taking a bath, doing a load of laundry, letting the baby touch things, etc. I loved that the chalet feels like home but is fully equipped for guests. We didn't use the top bedrooms or the game room very much, but it made me excited to come again with kids! Carrol gave us great recommendations for places to eat, short hikes, and things to do. She sent us all of the information we needed and made us feel very welcome. We had no questions or problems throughout our stay. It's definitely the best place I've stayed in Tahoe. Highly recommended!
Well kept and very comfortable
Carrol paid very good attention to detail with this beautiful Chalet. The home is decorated very nicely with beautiful art work through out. It is immaculate and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The Wifi and Direct TV worked perfectly. Carrol was very easy to get in touch and accommodating for any questions.
The house is located an easy walk into town, and away enough to enjoy a peaceful night sleep. Perfect for my husband, my daughter and myself. 5 stars to Carrol. Thank you for the use of your home.
Great house, great location, super clean and nice.
This house has been optimized for guests, with ample sleeping space, fresh towels, great instructions, and even a ping pong table and sleds in the garage.
We had a great time - skied Squaw all weekend which was just a 20 or so minute drive from the house (traffic pending..).
Would love to come back!
We had a great time in Tahoe. The house was well furnished and had everything we needed. We were 2 couples who each brought our dog. This place was perfect for our needs. 2 blocks from the main street with shops and restaurants. We even found a dog park nearby for the dogs to run off leash. I would definitely come back again!
It is stunning!!
The cabin is stunning and gorgeous! The location is excellent and convenience to everywhere - the neighborhood of the cabin is very quiet and if you go a few blocks down, you can go to the main street North Lake Blvd and you can find many restaurants, banks, supermarket, Tahoe Dave’s for ski rental, Any Mountain Store, etc. It just takes 14 minutes drive to Squaw Valley Ski Resort.
The owner is very nice, follow up, details oriented and responsive. The cabin is very clean like spotless. When I just walked in to the house, the heat was already on and made us felt like you just came home and so welcoming. The heat is excellent and so even in the house. You just feel so comfortable and enjoyable staying there. Both bathrooms are huge and modern. All utensils, dishes, cups, bowls are so clean. It’s just a five stars hotel suite. Excellent!!! We will come back! Thank you Carrol!!
It looked nice, until you walked in.
The fireplace in the Great Room never worked, it's broken. The direct tv didn't work, thank goodness we brought our roku. The furniture needs to be replaced you couldn't sit on it! The location was great easy to walk to the main drag and the beautiful lake and dog park. The house just needs some attention, it will be nice then.
I'm so sorry the renter didn't call for me to trouble shoot.I had responded to an email with a couple of ideas for trouble shooting and asked her to call me on my cell phone if she needed more help. I got no call. I arrived the day this renter left and found someone had changed a simple setting on the fireplace remote which turned off the igniter. All I had to do was click on it and it came on. The Direct TV was working fine when I got there, so I'm guessing this was another technical issue that I could have resolved on the phone.
I have been shopping for new couches.. It's really too bad she had the technical problem because her first note she to me said, "We just arrived, it's lovely".
This is an excellent location in historic Tahoe City. Two blocks in any direction gets you to the beach, hiking, stores, restaurants. The property is two blocks from the Tahoe Commons beach and also from the Tahoe City boat marina. It is two blocks from shopping and restaurants. One half block to the farmer's market and golf course. It is 2 blocks from the Tahoe rim hiking trail entrance and four blocks from the Truckee River dam and fanny bridge and museum.
