Downtown 2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Apartment With Free Off Street Parking For 1 Car
About Sarah, reservationist
The owner, Jeremy Goldstein has made 32 North Ann Street a project since he purchased the property in 2002, slowly making improvements, while running his business in the building directly next door. Over the past 20 years, Jeremy has built a successful multi-disciplinary real estate practice. Jeremy graduated cum laude from Duke University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies. He held salesperson licenses in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and currently maintains broker licenses in North Carolina and South Carolina. Mr. Goldstein advises private and institutional investors nationwide in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of commercial property. He married an Asheville native, and together they moved to Asheville to raise their four sons. He spends his “free” time traveling with his family to their sons’ sporting events. Eventually, he hopes to get back to hiking and biking in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. But for now he manages to get to Crossfit — unfortunately well before the sun comes up, in addition to serving as Chairman of Asheville Planning & Zoning Commission and board member to Irene Wortham Center.

Close but not on main drag
Cute apt. Comfy beds. All was great, if I could make any suggestions it be to change the ck out time to 11:00 from 10:00 like hotels. Especially if spending one night as a quick get away and enjoy downtown it is tough to be up showered and out by 10:00. Other than that the place was great!
Cozy stay in Asheville
Downtown Annie 4 was so well equipped and clean! It was also a really fun place to hang out when my friends and I weren’t enjoying Asheville. The beds were super comfortable, too.
So glad to hear you enjoyed yourself staying at Downton Annie. Thank you for being a great guest.
Nice location to downtown
This unit is a close walk to downtown. There is a slight hill to go to downtown if you are walking or you can easily uber for around $7. The beds are very comfortable. As other guests have reviewed, there is a homeless shelter across the street. We never felt uncomfortable by this and clients only seemed to be there during daytime hours. There are a lot of stairs that lead up to the unit and the parking is a bit tight. The dryer was not working well during our stay and we apologize that we did not report this. Otherwise, it has great artwork and all of the amenities that one would need to enjoy downtown Asheville.
Thanks, Linda for sharing your detailed review. Our neighbor across the street is an essential social services non-profit day shelter, Homeward Bound that works hard to place our most at need community in permanent housing. There are on average 175 individuals a day that find themselves without a permanent home in Asheville for an average of two weeks. Homeward Bound only operates during the day, with supportive services for those in need of counseling, a place to receive mail, get a cup of coffee, use the telephone while they await housing. If this was the cause for the less than 5 stars, despite not having any issue, that's unfortunate, because Asheville is made up of many social services around downtown and like many popular small municipalities we have a housing shortage. We welcome all to visit Asheville and embrace all that call it home. Asheville is more than just a tourist town and we are not ashamed nor bothered by our neighbors, as we have not had an issue in 15 years. Our other neighbors not only include Homeward Bound across the street, but also a former City Councilman Jan Davis' Tire company on the corner, a church, Echo Mountain recording studio, the Hyatt Hotel with the salvation army across the street from them and a female owned music publicist's office next door to our Downton Annie Apartments. We discovered a guest clogged the dryer vent with a shirt which prevented it from drying. Problem is fixed, however we wished you had informed us immediately so we could have addressed it. Thanks again for choosing Downton Annie for your recent Asheville visit.
We really enjoyed our stay in Asheville at this adorable apartment! Very clean and well thought out in terms of amenities and things people might need in the kitchen. The only cons were the very compact parking spaces and the edge of city location. I wouldn’t consider it unsafe or anything but some people might feel uneasy about the homeless shelter across the street. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you for the hospitality!
Thank you for emphasizing the guest amenities which we know adds value potential visitors. Visitors are welcome to park in additional spaces next door to Downton Annie, if spaces are too small to accommodate certain vehicles. We are happy to make arrangements to meet guests' parking needs for larger vehicles. We encourage guests to notify us at anytime for further parking accommodations. Downton Annie’s particular location is considered “downtown” on the west end of the city’s center. One of our favorite things about Downton Annie is how easy it is to get in and out to Asheville's scene. Downton Annie has easy access to multiple main roads if you plan on taking a drive, or if you feel like walking, restaurants, bars, and shops are just minutes away! Organizations like Homeward Bound across the street work hard everyday to end homelessness. They are a day shelter. Homeward Bound has a strikingly strong 90% success rate of placing people in permanent housing. On average, those receiving services at Homeward Bound are homeless for two weeks, but this is still a very vulnerable and scary time for many. The presence of organizations like these is something that is unavoidable in a central location such as Downton Annie. We are so grateful you enjoyed yourself enough to return. Thank you for being a great guest!
This property was conveniently located, clean and well equipped.
Thank you for highlighting what makes this property special all around. We appreciate the 5 stars!
Vintage home completely modernized!
We found the room to be very clean! Everything is brand new except the stairs leading to the second floor apartmemt. Parking was adequate and nice. It’s a little tight getting off the street but just need to go slow. The furniture in the living room was modern. I did not find the couch very comfortable but we did not spend much time there. The door latch on the dryer was broke but you could still use the dryer. The latch is being replaced. The shower water hot cold is reversed. It’s not a big issue once you figure it out. I just went through this myself installing new water valves so I understood. This is close to downtown but the location isn’t great. The walls are very thin but wasn’t an issue for us.
John, thank you for providing your detailed remarks which we know help potential guests when choosing Downton Annie. We apologize for your less than satisfactory review regarding the couch. We value your input and take all guest's opinions into consideration for where we can improve. The Apartment is in a multi-tenanted building of four units, each of which we host visitors 365 days/year , was originally built in the 1930's so guests should expect some transfer of noise between units, like any apartment or hotel building. We do ask that all guests respect the comfort of others and keep the volume of their voices low in the common areas and late at night. We are happy to assist guests if any issues arise. We thank you for being our guests and look forward to welcoming you back to Asheville any time.
