About the property

Newly constructed smaller cabin on 13 acres with lake views and a screen porch

Feel free to call and discuss.

This cabin , (Superior views ) was originally built in 2005 and Its very comfortable for small groups features one large bedroom, a 2ND semi-private sleeping area, one big cozy bathroom, a full size kitchen and living area plus an attached garage. There is also a screen porch and a deck, both with big views of Lake Superior. The bedroom, also with lake views, features one Queen size bed and one twin. The 2ND sleeping area has a full size bed. The cabin ideally accommodates a family of up to 5 people.*

This property backs up to the Minnesota State Scientific and Natural area and hundreds of acres of private land. It is very close to the ski area, golf course and many great restaurants.

The screen porch has a pull out sofa sleeper and is a wonderful place to listen to the animal sounds (but not be in a tent). There is also an outdoor fire pit which is great for family gathering. Hiking trails, mountain biking paths, berry picking areas, access to lakes and rivers are all nearby and much more - the owner will be happy to help you figure out what fun things you might want to do. We recently added Sat TV.

*We do have a larger property nearby if you are needing room for a larger group

About John Willard

I grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota and have lived in both Minnesota and Arizona. I have been developing vacation properties in the Lutsen area for 25 years, selling land and building cabins. I live in the Twin Cities now but come up to the North Shore frequently for work and vacation. I have two wonderful daughters and one of them lives nearby in Lutsen and would love to show you the area.

John Willard purchased this cabin in 2005

Why John Willard chose Lutsen

It's an amazing setting, a really private beautiful fun place and close to everything. Boulder Point Road has a great nature feel to it, with lots of good wildlife viewing. Great Lake Superior views !

What makes this cabin unique

The fall colors are fabulous, the views are amazing. The wildlife we see is really special, ask us! Close to snowmobile trails and ski area.

Excellent secluded place away from it all...

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was as expected minus not having internet as listing said. John was very helpful and quick to get back to us with any questions we had. Privacy, views and location could not be beat! You must check out North Shore Winery just next door—fun time for wine/cider drinkers! Will definitely return to Johns Cabin in the future!

Great location, nice accommodations

  • 5 of 5

The property was as described, except there is no fireplace. The full cable tv package was a pleasant surprise. Found the fire pit for the last night. Would definitely rent again.

It's a beautiful cabin on 13 acres of view property

  • 5 of 5

It's a really cute cabin with great history mixed into the decor. It's comfortable and in a great location about a mile from the ski area and it's very private.

A nice quiet spot in the middle of the best of the North Shore!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is great for 2 or a small family, the floorplan could get awkward with the only bathroom through the main bedroom. The location was a great launch pad to all of our favorite and new favorite hiking spots plus, a pretty quick drive to Grand Marais for a nice meal and a beer!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your stay and your comments, we are adding a 2nd bathroom and a nice 2nd bedroom but we do enjoy our smaller groups in our cozy cabin on 13 acres of hillside Lakeview property.
