Nice, wished we could stay longer

  • 5 of 5

The area is nice and secluded but still very close to grocery stores and cabin has fast wifi. You can disconnect as much as you want or not. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and around the house. Furniture is somewhat dated but for us that was not a big deal at all. Area is beautiful and so many places to go hiking without hitting any traffic.

Weekend Trip an Train Ride

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. They provided everything we needed for a relaxing mountain getaway. During our stay we took a train excursion in Bryson City. The entire trip was relaxing and everyone had a great time!

Very nice, clean, quiet place.

  • 5 of 5

If you put the physical address of the house in the GAPS you can go anywhere and get right back to the house with out a problem.

Quaint & Cozy

  • 4 of 5

A quiet getaway, located off the beaten path where most city folk like myself rarely get to go. Entirely unlike other cabin rentals I've experienced. Cozy, with enough space to satisfy my needs. Wish I owned one like this.

Cozy and secluded get-away

  • 5 of 5

This is a nice property tucked away in the woods. It's at the end of the lane, so no traffic goes by. I wouldn't say that it was easy access, though. The dirt road leading to it is very twisty and can be hard to get around cars coming the other way. A 4-wheel drive is not necessary to reach it though. Also, be aware that being secluded usually means a 20-30 minute drive to go just about anywhere. Bryson City was a 30-minute drive.

It was clean and had all the essentials provided. It's nicely decorated and has a very cozy feel to it. I was impressed by the hot, forceful water during my showers. The washer/dryer was also nice to do our laundry before going home.

For the price, it's a great deal.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My original comment from November 2007 read: We loved your chalet and plan to return again next year. It was very comfortable, private and had everything we needed. We spent most of our evenings outside by the fire. What more can you ask for...It was great!

We have been back every year since then. We had reserved the chalet April, 2011 and a week before we were to arrive I received an phone call from the Dane informing us there was some unexpected damage to the chalet and we could not stay there. In the case like this, I thought we would have to make other arrangements ourselves. To my surprise, Dane offered to find another place nearby. He found a place, contacted me the next day, and our vacation was back on schedule. We plan to go back to Dane's chalet in October. It is comfortable, private, easy to find...the perfect place to vacation.
