Enjoy the convenience of our huge chef kitchen and dining/entertaining areas (Main House) with the privacy of individual apartment-like suites (Guest House). Located minutes away from Warren Dunes State Park and several beaches, the Guest and Main House Inn afford their visitors a choice of 5 outdoor decks overlooking a huge pond in a bucolic, serene setting.

Rabbit Run is on 2 acres on a private dead-end road. Feed the koi and catfish at cocktail time - a Rabbit Run tradition. Or venture out to downtown Sawyer, a five minute drive, with Greenbush Micro Brewery, restaurants and shops.

As owner-managers who have served guests for over 8 years, we are always available to answer any questions on a timely basis and to provide information and local contacts to make your family/group gathering a success. We also provide 24/7 contact information and nearby staff to facilitate your stay at Rabbit Run.

For your lodging, the Main House (occupancy 7-8) has 3 bedrooms, 2 that sleep 2 each, one that sleeps 4, and 2 full bathrooms.

The Guest (occupancy up to 12) has 4 units, each with a private bath and deck, and provides the luxury of each room having a wet bar, fridge, plasma TV/Apple TV.

For a more intimate /group family get-away, the Main House can be rented for 2 nights (minimum) or more, during the months of October through May, 2017, excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. The nightly rate is $795 per night.

The Main House is adjacent to our all-year Inn and is privately set off from the Inn, so your group’s privacy is assured even when Inn guests are staying at Rabbit Run.


Located in the Main House are a kitchen/family room with Wolf stove, 2 dishwashers and a home entertainment system – TV, cable, Apple TV (AirPlay enabled for streaming), and CD Player. French doors open out to a splendid view of Rabbit Run’s koi pond and 2 gazebos. Also adjoining the kitchen is a dining room with seating for 8-10 and which opens onto an outdoor furnished deck with gas grille and fire pit.

For your convenience, Rabbit Run has a clothes washers, clothes drier, 2 dishwashers and large Amana® refrigerator to facilitate your group's stay.

Rabbit Run Inn has operated as an inn since 2008. In 2015 the inn (guest house) as well as the main house were added to accommodate larger group rentals.

Wonderful Family Winter Vacation

Really enjoyed this lovely Inn. We hosted all the young adult cousins for a few days. Rooms were lovely and common space perfect...we were able to have sit down dinner for 12 prepared in gourmet kitchen.

Gorgeous property

We loved every part of Rabbit Run. It was the perfect place to accommodate our closest friends and family for our wedding weekend. It's so charming and every room has a beautiful view of the property. We didn't want to leave!

Wonderful property!

Rabbit Run Inn might be the best vacation rental I ever booked and stayed at! They get all the important things right - great use of space, beautiful rooms, and an amazing large outside space including the coy pond. This was a terrific place for a family reunion we held in June.

The negatives were all very small and easily fixable. The gorgeous kitchen did seem to lack in some very basics. We were surprised to find the dish ware very minimal (pots and pans). And there wasn't a wine key anywhere in the house. We were also surprised that they didn't have very basic cooking supplies: salt / pepper / olive oil / etc. Though I must say the 2 dishwashers and oversized coffeepot were brilliant. And even with our group not being the max capacity, there seemed to be a shortage of bath towels and toilet paper. There were not enough towels for everyone in our group.

All of this did not take away from our great time there. We were just surprised the house wasn't a bit more stocked. Especially given the price point for this rental (it's on the expensive end). Rita the property manager was also great at showing us around when we arrived for check in.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Chris, for your review. We appreciate your feedback. We have had negative comments from previous guests about any food products being left in the house at all so we discontinued doing that. We will check out the bath towels and toilet paper situation with our housekeeper. Though we keep wine pulls in the inn rooms, we have added a wine twist type corkscrew in the main house. We are happy that your group enjoyed your vacation at Rabbit Run.

Perfect for family/friends getaway

My extended family and I spent a Thanksgiving weekend here. It was the perfect place to gather -- seven bedrooms (including the three in the inn) and a big kitchen with plenty of places to gather (nice oven, big fridge, good assortment of dishes and cookware and two dishwashers too). The innkeepers also put us in touch with a local business from which we rented extra dining tables and chairs so everyone could sit together for our big meal (reasonably priced). A very well-kept and cozy place. Would definitely recommend. Location in Harbor Country -- very near Warren Dunes State Park -- also a major plus. Easy rental and check-in/check-out process with friendly, helpful staff and owners.

Why Linda Jo and Rodney Clough chose Sawyer

We wanted to create a protected property accessible to visitors seeking a natural pristine area of Michigan and who enjoy luxurious accommodations.

Originally the Inn and Main House were a 1920's "Michigan cottage" and three car garage. The Main House was renovated and a master bedroom was added in 2003. The 3 car garage was razed and the Inn was built in 2003 on its footprint. Over 30 evergreens have been added to the landscape surrounding the Inn and Main House, as well as a 1/2 acre pond was excavated. "Rabbit Run" is certified as a natural habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.

What makes this estate unique

Located within easy travel time to the Lake and area vineyards, Rabbit Run is uniquely situated for a short getaway or extended week visit. Our guests have shared reviews about the luxurious furnishings, the tranquil setting and convenient location (1 1/2 hours from Chicago). Our amenities and decor have been featured in regional shelter magazines including Midwest Living and Chicago Home and Garden.
