About Curt and Eva Amason

We are 45-year residents of Old Town in Ft. Collins and live just two blocks from this apartment. In addition, we have a combined 25 years of experience in the resort business, understand the importance of prompt and courteous customer service, and welcome questions and constructive feedback.

Curt and Eva Amason purchased this studio in 1999

Why Curt and Eva Amason chose Old Town West

We came to Ft. Collins to attend the university and stayed because the town offered wonderful opportunities for recreation, natural beauty, friendships, and lifelong learning. It continues to provide these amenities decades later. We purchased this house from the first owners who built it in 1948.

That bed!

  • 5 of 5

Great location, clean, and has all the basics. A few things of note: The memory foam mattress was a dream, the waterfall shower was elegant, and having a bike available made getting to CSU and downtown really convenient.

Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

Great property and location. My only complaint is that the bikes were not in working condition. Could have used a few more bath towels, but overall it was clean and a good, well laid out property. Really liked the use of a laundry room.

Owner's Response: This is helpful feedback. After a year of absolutely no interest in the bikes, several guests have now wanted to use them, so I’m happy to report they are up and running. I’m reorganizing the shed. And an extra stack of towels in the studio will be standard supply from now on. For future reference, give us a call at the number listed on the info sheet in the studio when you have a request during your stay. We are usually in town, live just 3 blocks away, and we’re at your service.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

When traveling to Fort Collins with 2 guests this will be our preferred stay! Great location to CSU and old town, owners are very responsive, very clean unit, updated, ALL the amenities you would need, we felt safe, good ceiling fan circulation, great working air conditioner (that was key during the 100 degree weather!!) quiet unit, comfortable bed. For being a studio it felt roomy with table and chairs too and full kitchen appliances to use, good closet space. The owners go to great care with the details in the unit. While we don’t own a dog, the yard is big.

One minor suggestion would be better bike access for those who would use it: they were difficult to get out of shed (probably hadn’t been utilized in a while), the tires weren’t filling after a few attempts and decided to walk to my destinations and exploring. No doubt the owners would have come to help during our stay had I asked them. The bikes were only ‘icing on a great cake’ so it wasn’t a huge deal just a side note. Thanks for a great stay!

Owner's Response: Monica, thanks for the feedback on the bikes. Interestingly, almost no guests eve use them in this bike-friendly city and they had fallen into disrepair. They are now up and running. The couple that came in right after you wanted them also, so I got my best bike mechanic (Curt) right on it.
