About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, (sleeps a maximum of four persons)

Nestled in the beachside residential community of Lanikai in Kailua, this home is beautifully appointed and has all the creature comforts that you would expect from an upscale, beachside home. It is a separate and distinct 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath cottage. Upstairs is a full kitchen and a living/dining area with a convenient half bath. Downstairs are two bedrooms: the master with a queen-sized bed and the second with two twins. They share a jack and jill full bathroom. The home is fully furnished, including a TV, books, games, toys as well as beach towels, linens, and an initial supply of paper products.

We have a very large monkey pod tree, spanning two properties that is home to large number of songbirds (manu mele) - our morning serenade!!

It is a five to seven minute walk to the world famous Lanikai beach which is the best swimming beach in all of Hawai’i. The town of Kailua is a seven minute drive, making us close to shopping, some great restaurants and the Kailua Beach Center which has kayaks and other ocean toys. The property is managed by life-long residents of Hawaii.

For security reasons, tax numbers are available upon request.

Absolutely lovely cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This immaculately clean and comfy cottage was the perfect place to just sit back and relax. Beds were comfy, water nice and hot and the cottage itself is beautiful. In the morning, grab a cup of coffee then go sit on the front porch and listen to the birdsong. It's amazing. Just a short walk to the beach and you'll see turquoise blue ocean that just begs you to jump in. Kailua has wonderful shops (I highly recommend Lanikaui Bath and Body if you love scented lotions) and it's easy to navigate in the area. Nancy was a wonderful host from booking to checkout! In fact, I can't think of one negative thing to say!

Wedding memories

  • 5 of 5

Immaculately clean, and nicely decorated, I highly recommend this property. We rented for 10 days while attending our son's wedding. This cute yellow cottage is tucked in a beautifully landscaped yard with a variety of plants that my toddler grandson and I walked every morning. The city of Kailua and it's beaches are wonderful. Nancy was a great host, we had everything we needed, and have a lifetime of memories.

Most Amazing Trip

  • 5 of 5

My family & I traveled to Hawaii for the first time this past February. It was my first time traveling with my 1 year old son & I couldn't have got a better accommodation then this. It was VERY clean & VERY relaxing. Home owner was awesome!! She gave us our privacy but also made our experience superb by asking if we needed anything if we crossed paths, informing us of fun things to do & she even bought my son the most adorable t shirt that is one of a kind from in town. Her "cottage" was very much like a home away from home feel & it was a very comfortable place to be. It is in a very nice community & close to everything which included Lanikai's private gorgeous beach access or just a walk or car ride down the street to Kailua's beautiful beach! It was a short 5 minute drive to Kailua as well. I haven't stopped thinking about what an amazing first experience we had & we are already planning the next trip!!

"Paradise" in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage accommodating 4 adults nicely. LOVED the community ... it's always nice to come back to peace & quiet after playing among the crowds of the many Oahu beaches. Since we stayed across the street from Waikiki during the 1st part of our vacation, we were looking forward to our stay on the windward side of Oahu ... away from the hustle & bustle. Upon arrival, Nancy left a very nice note apologizing that she wouldn't be able to greet us, but that her housekeeper would be available to assist us in anyway if we needed. The cottage is away from the street and set back on the property away from the road (BUT there is no roadside noise anyways!). There was lots of space for us to spread out and plenty of storage space. The kitchen was very clean and had every appliance we needed during our stay. Since we played at Lanikai Beach EVV-ERR-EE-DAY, it was nice to have an outside hose to rinse off before going into the cottage. Being that it was unseasonably HOT when we were there, the 2nd bedroom was a bit stuffy ... but running the dryer which is in the 2nd bedroom before going to bed probably didn't help either. Luckily there were a couple portable fans that we used for the bedroom. The bedrooms were very nice and had storage space for our "messy children". We are regular VRBO travelers and this property was by far the "best place we've stayed" (quote from my son) and we hope to return.

Lovely little spot in Lanikai

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four loved our stay at the cottage this past June. We’ve stayed in many properties in Lanikai and this is now on the top of our list. It’s a well-stocked, very tidy, newer cottage with all you need to feel comfortable in your ‘home away from home’. Nancy was an excellent hostess, providing the initial tour of the home and giving helpful hints and ideas about plans for around the island whenever we ran into each other. She was never intrusive and was always friendly. (A quick note about privacy, the view to/from the cottage and the owners residence is blocked by a tall grove of palms. So although you are on property with the owner you really do feel like you’re in your very own retreat). The entire cottage is very, very clean. We were so happy that such detail was put into the maintenance of this house. The kitchen has more than ample space to cook, however we made use of the outdoor grill rather than cook indoors. The outdoor table and chairs could be moved around the property to find the ‘just right spot’ for dining in or out of the sun. There are two comfortable sitting chairs on the porch for having your morning coffee. We were so thankful for the full sized washer and dryer (so helpful when you have kids in tow). Bedrooms were quiet and comfortable and the linen fresh and crisp upon arrival. There’s even a selection of beach chairs and various sand toys along with some snorkeling gear available to borrow. There’s also an outdoor shower to clean off the sand and toys available. We timed it to be an 8 minute walk (we had a plodding 9 year old with us so you couldn’t go too quickly) down to the nearest sandy beach entrance. We love the location, the property and the setting. It was a perfect home base to explore the beauty that the island holds. We hope to be back to this cottage and enjoy it again soon!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your kind words. I’m so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the little yellow cottage. What a pleasure having such a fun-loving family. Please come back soon! Bella, my golden retriever, is eagerly waiting by the gate in the white picket fence.
