The Kona Makai Condos are located a short trolley ride from the heart of historic Kailua-Kona Village. This condo, located on the second floor of building 5, captures all of the wonderful ocean breezes. Watch the gorgeous sunsets in the evening from either balcony or lounging by the pool area. Kona Makai has a BBQ, swimming pool, hot tub and exercise room.
The trolley stop is right next door to take you to more restaurants, shops and bars than you can count or the local farmer's market. If you have rented a car, Kona Makai offers plenty of visitor parking! While staying on the Big Island don't miss the opportunity to zip line in Kohala, visit the Southernmost Point in the United States, Mauna Kea Summit (the highest mountain), Kilauea (our live volcano), Hilo and the beautiful Waipio Valley. The Huliheʻe Palace is located on Ali'i Drive. This former vacation home of Hawaiian royalty was converted to a museum and is run by the Daughters of Hawaiʻi, showcasing furniture and artifacts. La’aloa Beach also known as Disappearing Sands and Magic Sands is a white sand Kona beach located on Ali’i Drive just south of Historic Kailua Village. This popular pocket of sand is great for splashing in the surf, body-surfing and body-boarding. There are restrooms, showers and a lifeguard, but limited parking. This small beach may disappear overnight due to tidal shifts or strong surf, but always returns.
Our condo has a full kitchen complete with a Keurig coffee maker (so if you have your favorite k-cups, pack them). This one bedroom condo has a queen bed, a full bath, and a two large balconies. One is off the bedroom and one off the living area so you can enjoy your meals at the dining table, enjoy your morning coffee and watch the sunset with a glass of wine.
