Different, fun, interesting, superb Hawi location.
Hawi Heaven is a charming, authentic, very cool abode. My wife and I stayed there for five days in March. Hosts (Linda in particular) were super easy to work with, informative, and accommodating.
The place looks small from the pictures but it’s way bigger when you get inside. It would be plenty roomy and comfortable for a family. The layout is a little funky with a long row of bathrooms and bedrooms, but that just adds to the charm. This definitely isn’t a predictable, cookie-cutter, sterile, condo-style home. There’s lots of porch space, and lawn space in front and in back if you just want to lay around and enjoy the sounds and smells of Hawaii and bake in the sun.
Completely private. Easy-breezy parking.
We’ve never stayed anywhere that was better equipped or better appointed with beach gear, towels and bathroom items, and especially kitchen stuff. Extremely high-quality kitchen stuff, I would add. We used the big-ass blender every morning for massive smoothies and every evening for pina coladas.
One of the best features is the large laundry room/bathroom at the rear of the house. Perfect for dealing with towels, swimwear, etc.
The location is superb. You can walk to DT Hawi in under 5 minutes.
Loved staying there.
Thank you so much for your comments and we are glad you had a good stay at our little Haven! We welcome you back whenever your travels again take you to the Big Island! Mahalo!
Hawi Haven is a remarkable plantation style home with all the fine amenities of home, great place
So many good things to say about Hawi Haven, beginning with very clean and comfortable and within walking distance to town.
Well equipped, clean, homey and relaxing
We’ve been here five or six times and will keep on coming! Large and comfortable (but not super-fancy) house with everything you need. Responsive and helpful house manager and owners. Located within a short walk of “downtown” Hawi with several restaurants, cafes and shops. Hawi is a bit out of the way from the more touristy and busy areas of Kona, Hilo, and Waimea, but that’s what adds to its appeal!
Mahalo, Alex! We love the appeal of Hawi being away from the touristy areas, too! Looking forward to your return when your travels take you back to the Big Island!
Excellent property right in town
This property is very well stocked and is adorable. We will be back.
Mahalo, Arlene! Thank you for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed your stay! We hope to have you stay again when your travels bring you back to North Kohala on The Big Island!
Great for a family or group; one of our favorite VRBO's.
The house and location are great. An easy walk to town; plenty of privacy and ideal for a family or group. We were two parents, two adult sons and one girlfriend and were quite comfortable. The house had plenty of room; and was nicely furnished and well-equipped. We travel a lot; have stayed in numerous VRBO's (this was one of the best) and much prefer that experience to resorts and cruises. A car is a must and drives to beaches, restaurants, and various sights can take some time. We ate in a few times but mostly went to restaurants. and consumed lots of fresh fish. In Hawi, we had coffee everyday at Kohala Coffee Mill and excellent sushi at Sushi Rock. In Waimea we went to Big Island Brewhaus twice for good beers and mexican food. Also went to the Seafood Bar in Kawaihae twice; lousy view but excellent food and drinks, esp. at Happy hour. Ventures to resort restaurants resulted in high prices and average food. Kailua-Kona is great if you like crowds of tourists., long waits and watery drinks. Favorite beaches were at Hapuna and Mauna Kea resort. Polulu Valley; mountain roads; Hilo; Kilauea; and snorkeling were high on our list. The weather is mostly sunny but unpredictable and changes from moment to moment and town to town. A memorable vacation made better by Hawi Haven.
Mahalo nui loa, Jake and Lee Ann! We are so glad you could enjoy some great family time together during your stay! And thank you for adding your favorite spots and experiences! We hope you can return to Hawi Haven when your travels bring you back to the Big Island! Aloha!
We loved our stay here. The house was charming and filled with everything you could ever want. Obvious pride of ownership and excellent property manager as well.
Thank you, Nancy! We are glad you could stay and that you enjoyed yourselves! Please keep us in mind for your next trip to the Big Island!
