When we were all walking to the tree house. We were all amazed & really excited to be staying here.
The tree house was great very clean & organized my family loved it. This was a surprise Birthday gift for my mother and when she first saw it she was so excited and tearing up she was happy she was going to be staying there for the week to relax and do nothing. My whole family loved it definitely great memories there as a family. We for sure want to do it again.
Wonderful place to stay!
My family thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the Burma treehouse. The house is awesome and the property is fantastic! We spent a lot of time just relaxing on the deck(s) and taking in the beautiful scenery. The sunsets are wonderful. We enjoyed sitting around a fire each night and the kids spent much of the day exploring the beach and playing in the water. The house itself is very unique; it feels very comfortable and private.
Brenna was super helpful and responsive to any questions. Thank you Brenna for making our stay so nice!
Highly recommended, especially if you are looking to unplug and just relax. We will definitely be back.
Wonderful spot on Vashon. Quiet, peaceful, whimsical, well-equipped. We didn’t want to leave. In fact, our four year old son asked me at school pick up if we could get on the ferry boat and go to the treehouse instead of going home! And my husband promptly ordered two of the treehouse books that he started reading during our stay. Perfect for all kids big and small!
Beautiful house among the trees with decks to sit outside and take in the fresh air.
Excellent location. Very peaceful and comfortable home. All the amenities are included with fresh coffee and flowers from Vashon locals. Loved ocean access and canoe ride along the shoreline. An amazing spot!
Wonderful Place to Stay
Although it is called the Burma Treehouse, I was under the impression that it was a house amongst the trees. This is actually a real treehouse, the main living/sleeping area is suspended by wires and braced by trees. There appears to be a couple of stilts under the structure, but the trees support the house. It has amazing views of the water, and the sound of a running brook nearby. The bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows(6) on the queen. My husband and I sleep with six at home, so that was perfect. My 3 yo and I made tea every morning and sat outside on the deck, he insisted on doing this every day. We watched for seals, fish and orcas. We spent hours on the rocky beach searching for sea creatures and dinosaur bones(rocks and wood shaped like bones). If you continue down the beach to the left there is soft sand to build castles, and
If you continue further there is the Fern Cove trail. We hiked it twice, our kid was able to do this hike. We also just played at the mouth of the trail with all the fresh water streams coming out of it. We also walked along the beach to the right when the tide was low to allow us access. Brenna told us of a crooked house that a builder had made for his kids, from their favorite book, “The Crooked House”(with the crooked old man, and the crooked cat, and the crooked mouse...). He is still talking about this.
The property has a full kitchen and bathroom with washer and dryer. The compostable toilet took a little getting used to it, but we would definitely stay here again.
The perfect little getaway
We had a great time visiting Vashon. The treehouse is magical, peaceful and inspiring. We were able to explore, lounge and cook to our heart’s content! Thank you Brenna for providing such a beautiful space for friends to gather. Hope to visit again in the future!
Nestled in the "Heart of the Sound" with views of water or mountains at every corner, Vashon Island is truly one-of-a-kind. It can only be reached by a breathtakingly beautiful ferry ride. There is something magical about being on an island. The pace is slower, the people are friendlier, the attitudes are relaxed and our patchwork of pastoral and natural settings make it a refreshing Pacific Northwest getaway.
