Point Robinson Lighthouse - Quarters B

Bedrooms 2
Space 900 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

Be a Keeper at the Pt. Robinson Light Station on Vashon Island

Vashon Park District offers amazing stays in the two renovated keepers' quarters at Point Robinson Lighthouse. The two residences share the beach with the lighthouse and several out buildings. Both residences are available for vacation rental through the year, offering you a wonderful way to enjoy the beach, the Sound and Vashon Island.

Quarters B is a two-bedroom, one bath, completely furnished unit with a full kitchen and sitting parlor. This house is restored to capture much of its 1919 historical condition. It can accommodate to four- six people.

The sunny kitchen in Quarters B evokes a time of homemade biscuits and slow Sunday breakfasts.

The sitting room boasts period furnishings and contemporary comfort.

This Quarter is perched near the lighthouse on the shore of Puget Sound. It offers a wondrous porch looking out over the Sound and at Mount Rainier.

Quarters B is part of a duplex comprising half of the downstairs and the entire upper floor of the house. It's next door to our caretaker, Mo Anakar. The front porch is shared with separate entrances.

Why Eric Wyatt chose Vashon Island

Vashon Park District's Point Robinson Park is 10.0 acre shoreline park and historical and marine conservancy located on the east shore of Maury Island off Point Robinson Road overlooking East Passage. The site has provided fog and lighthouse service for vessels since 1885. The lighthouse has been fully automated since 1978. *Vashon Park District owns the upland part of the park; the remainder is on long term lease from the Coast Guard.

The property conserves an extensive sandy beach shoreline that wraps around the point, a saltwater marsh, and upland woodlands. Walking trails and a few picnic tables have been developed along the scenic shoreline providing dramatic views of East Passage, Tacoma, and Mount Rainier, and through the upper wooded slopes.

Pt. Robinson Stewards have fully restored the two Keepers' Quarters on the property for use as rentals. All proceeds from these rentals goes back into the park's restoration and maintenance.

What makes this house unique

Point Robinson - what a special gift this property is to the people of Vashon. There are not a lot of places in the world where you can witness whales breaching an arm length away, giant ships steaming by in the night or watch Great Blue Herons fish in front of a lighthouse. So, on behalf of our Island and the Vashon Park District, welcome to Point Robinson Lighthouse. You're going to love it.

Beautiful views and the best location.

I loved the lighthouse tour given by Captain Joe. Eric and Mo the manager and caretaker took good care of us and made great recommendations. We paddle boarded with dolphins and seals that were hanging out in front of our cottage. I would recommend this place to just a couple looking for a getaway or a family that likes to explore. A great place to enjoy nature.

Would Rent Again, "For Sure."

  • 5 of 5

Nice stay. We've been to Pt. Robinson several times to enjoy the day but never stayed and now we're glad we did. Unit clean and very well stocked with anything you'd need to be comfortable. Caretaker in unit next door and you'd have never known since they were so quiet! We rented to celebrate a quick getaway to celebrate our 36th the beach and location. Will rent again I'm sure! Nicely done Vashon Parks.

Comfortable and cozy

  • 5 of 5

The claw foot tub was enough to make me enjoy my stay--a classic bubble bath during a storm was lovely. The house was beautiful with classic touches and a warmth that was present not just from the heater. We plan on returning within the year!

Fabulous view with snow and stayed warm inside!

Excellent place for family to stay, especially the kids. Lost the keys and the staff went “above and beyond” to accommodate us and get us a new set. Neat as a pin. Will stay here again!

Rustic getaway

  • 5 of 5

Very nice and serene to wake up with the point all to yourself.

Rustic interior but that is what we expected. It is indeed like Maine. I had expected drafty windows and cool inside (it was Thanksgiving), but it was airtight and the heat worked well. Usually, I like to do a lot of family cooking when we go away, but I came with the expectation that the stovetop and oven here are more historic than gourmet, so I am glad that I brought ready-made food. Which is fine.
