Sunny and lush. 2-BR, 1-BA duplex Close to BART, restaurants, Cal campus

Welcome to Berkeley's Westbrae neighborhood! This comfortable duplex was built in the 20s, was recently renovated and is lushly landscaped with an enclosed back garden. BART is a 12-minute walk. UC is 10 minutes by bike (you can borrow mine), 5 minutes by car or take the direct bus that stops a block away. Coffee, bakery, wine store are 2 blocks away. Sushi, beer garden, Italian, BBQ and Whole Foods are 6 blocks away. Ample street parking in the immediate neighborhood is available with no permits required. (Currently 50% off $120 cleaning fee!)

To ensure your safety with regard to COVID-19, the duplex is thoroughly cleaned between guests by cleaners using Nitrile gloves and face masks. Afterwards, I personally go through with Clorox wipes and wipe down every door knob, other handles, light switches, plumbing fixtures and other surfaces commonly touched. Linens and towels are washed in hot water. Extra Clorox wipes are supplied.

Perfect stay in Berkeley

My mom and visited the Bay Area for a short trip to visit family and we were so pleased with our stay in this sweet VRBO. Bob lives next door and greeted us when we arrived and on our departure. We knew that if anything came up during our stay that we needed assistance with he would be right there to help. The VRBO was spotless and I am very particular about cleanliness. We both felt right at home. Also, it is well-stocked with cooking supplies and most importantly, coffee :) We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Feels like home in Berkeley

We thoroughly enjoyed this house. It's lovely--the kitchen, especially, is great. Pristine appliances and lots of light. The house is on a quiet street, but seems close to everything. We could walk to the North Berkeley BART station (15 mins) and the 4th Street Shopping District (20 mins). There was always a parking space available right in front of the house. I really appreciated the neighborhood map with dining and shopping recommendations that the owner provided. We took many of his suggestions!

Lovely...

This was just what we needed for our stay in the Bay Area. Walking distance to BART (0.7 miles), restaurants, bakery, coffee shops close by, safe and lovely neighborhood. It was very quiet, spotless, had comfortable beds, a great shower and owner was accommodating with a small group get together in the home. It had everything we needed and left very relaxed.

Celebration of Life

We could not have chosen a better space to ready for all of the events of a weekend to honor my dearest friend as we celebrated her Mom’s life. Robert’s place was welcoming and fully stocked for our needs. Best location in Berkeley. Walking distance to so many restaurants and stores while feeling completely immersed in the neighborhood vibe of this bedroom community. Highly recommend and will return.

Perfect place in a great location

My family was visiting friends in the area, and this was the perfect home base for a few days. The place was clean, and it had everything we needed--it was even stocked with coffee, cooking oil and spices, something we appreciate since one of the perks of most VRBOs is having a kitchen. Excellent restaurants and some fun parks within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent place and great host

This spot was perfect for our stay. Great location with a good variety of vendors in walking distance. We liked being able to have our granddaughters and family there for few evening meals during our ten-day stay.

Very nice stay

Pleasant and convenient location. The duplex includes comfortable bed, nice towels, good basics in the kitchen. Great to have a dishwasher (insure clean dishes to new guests) and in apartment washer and dryer. Heating system runs efficiently (slightly noisy), train horn heard time to time Robert is a welcoming and discreet host. Top list to stay in this area.

Charming, spacious, clean, well-equipped.

Robert’s vrbo was perfect for us. The two bedrooms are completely separate; the kitchen is spacious & comfortable and comes with everything you need (coffee maker, pots& pans, etc.); the living room is comfortable & cozy; and there’s a wonderful little outside garden table. House was well cleaned and Robert was welcoming and easy to reach. Oh, and lots of great food options nearby. Highly recommend.

Fabulous home in Berkeley

We absolutely loved our stay at Bob’s home in Berkeley. It was spotless, tastefully decorated, perfectly located and fully equipped. Special touches like a fresh bag of Peet’s coffee and 2 different kinds of sea salt made for a perfect welcome. The bed and bedding were super comfortable, and the shower pressure was great. Bob was a thoughtful host, communicating well throughout our stay. We will gladly (and hopefully) return!

We loved our stay in North Berkeley! The house met our needs in every way--great location, comfortable, well-equipped kitchen (with Covid, we cooked a lot of meals there). But what really stands out is our host, Bob. Through many, many home stays we've never had a host as friendly and thoughtful as Bob! We look forward to staying with you again.

Visit to UC Berkeley

We loved staying here! We came to Check out the campus since our daughter will be Starting online and had never been to see it. The location was perfect, quiet and friendly. it is a 10 minute- ish drive to campus, with close access to everything we needed: Whole Foods is nearby, good restaurants for take out, Acme bakery a 5 minute walk.. Bob was extremely helpful and ready to answer any questions we had, the place was very clean and super comfortable. I could happily stay for several weeks to explore the area and look forward to staying there again in future visits.

Bay Area Visit

A well appointed comfortable apt. in a central Berkely location, and only a couple of blocks from the Acme bakery ! The apt also has a quiet back garden and plenty of on-street parking. Bedrooms are a good size and the kitchen was especially well equipped. All in all a very pleasant place to stay.

Family Vacation (two adults, two teens)

Bob's duplex was PERFECT for our family vacation. It was spacious, clean, and quiet with super convenient access to the entire bay area. We rented a car and every night, we parked right in front of our place. The kitchen was fully equipped, so preparing food at home was a cinch. Having a washer and dryer in the unit helped our family lightly pack for the week. Bob's place had everything we needed for our vacation. I highly recommend this VRBO, and would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place

We really enjoyed the property. It is a solid little quite place and was perfect for a place to stay while we toured the Bay Area. We felt very safe. There was parking and it was quite while we slept. Easy to check in, had extra fans and blankets and plenty of hot water. Check out was just as easy and we had no issues or complaints.

Clean and close to BART

Had a nice stay at the apartment which was clean and well appointed. Walkable to BART and Whole Foods. Bob was kind and communicated clearly about a noise problem next door due to temporary construction. Noise did not phase us since we were up every morning anyway. We had a great time using the apartment as a base to explore the city.

Sparkling clean Berkeley apartment in peaceful walkable neighborhood

We arrived at the property a little before check in time ragged and tired after two days of hikes and long drives around and from Mono lake area. While scoping out the nearby coffee/wine store/bakery, we checked in with owner to see if an early check-in was possible. Bob was very gracious and accommodating and the good energy just kept flowing with the easy keyless check-in and entry to a clean, bright, welcoming flat. The kitchen is a very attractive and functional recent remodel, well-stocked with everything you need. The flat has pretty Berkeley-style front and back gardens if you care about that sort of things, is an easy walk to great dining district and a longer but for us very manageable walk to the university and gourmet ghetto. Bob was the perfect host. I highly recommend this property.

Family Vacation

Perfect spot to use as a base for our San Fran travels. Nice, quiet neighborhood with easy access to all the sites we wanted to see. (has street parking, which was never an issue as every time we returned there was an empty spot in front of the house) Owner stopped by the evening we arrived to make sure all was good. He is an author (amongst other things) and I have now started to read his series of books! Within walking distance to a great Bakery and Coffee shop for early morning cravings. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. and would deifnately stay again.

Perfect little place

Everything about this unit was perfect for our few days in the Bay Area. The neighborhood is super safe and extremely well located. The place was very clean, neighborhood was quiet yet close to a plethora of restaurants and other activities. We always had an available parking spot on the street in front of our unit...We will definitely stay here again!

I feel fortunate to live here!

Aside from providing great value if you need two bedrooms for kids or you're more than a couple, people seem to enjoy the duplex as a place to relax when day's activities are finished. It's comfortable, airy with lots of sunlight, and is a great place to entertain - either just yourselves or with a couple of friends. Folks visiting nearby friends or relatives enjoy having a place like this to host as well.
