Overview

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 8)

Come to the water... a delightful getaway at Gladwin Beach. Just the place to make memories with family and friends; laugh and love; connect with and enjoy each other.

Gladwin Beach House is located on the North Shore of Hood Canal; the sunny side of the Canal. You may see flocks of ducks and water birds, a heron fishing for dinner, or still blue waters under blue skies.

Come experience this charming log cabin. Gladwin House was built over 100 years ago as part of a logging camp on the shore of Hood Canal. The house has been expanded and upgraded, but it still has that cozy log house feel. The living room is very relaxing, with a river rock fireplace and a beautiful view of Hood Canal. With four cheerful bedrooms, a daybed by the fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen, you will feel right at home.

Gladwin Beach House is at the end of the Hood Canal. In the summer, the waters are warm enough to swim and play in when the tide comes in over the tide flats. The warm water is a rarity in Puget Sound. Put the kayak in the water and explore the Theler Wetlands and Union River Estuary. Take a nature hike, or mountain bike nearby trails. Relish and enjoy the quiet and peaceful picturesque water views here. At night, sit by the fire pit; sing songs, tell jokes and roast marshmallows.

In the winter, relax in the hot tub and watch the water birds flock. Maybe drink hot chocolate, enjoy a good book by the cozy river rock fireplace, watch your favorite movie or play board games.

We invite you to come and enjoy the serenity at Gladwin Beach House!

About Ai Ling and Lance Wyllie

We love to meet the folks from around the area and around the world who have stayed at Gladwin House. It especially gratifying when Gladwin House can be host to family getaways, girls nights out, reunions, and life celebrations. We want Gladwin House to be a getaway and place to rejuvenate relationships and make lifetime memories.

Why Ai Ling and Lance Wyllie chose Belfair

We have been coming to Hood Canal for years, spending time with friends down here. When the kids were small we would spend all day on the beach with them. When Gladwin House went up for sale, we jumped at the chance to own this special piece of Hood Canal right at the edge of the wildlife conservation area.

Enjoyed the Gladwin House

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful location -- not far from a small town, within walking distance of a state park, next door to a private playground/park, and the house itself is right on the water. It was pretty cold and wet when we were there, so couldn't take full advantage of the boats, but had several cozy fires in the huge stone fireplace and enjoyed the scenery. House is well-furnished and has a good layout for larger groups. Lance met us on arrival, was very nice, and gave us the grand tour and a little history of the house & area. Overall, highly recommended.

Lovely home and hosts

  • 5 of 5

We spent a weekend here and it was great! The house was more than big enough for the 4 of us, with 2 huge bedrooms upstairs and another 2 downstairs. We were met on arrival by Lance, who had a roaring fire going in the lovely stone fireplace. It made the house so warm and toasty on a rainy day. The kitchen was big and we were able to easily make dinner with several people in the kitchen at the same time. The hot tub was wonderful - what is better than sitting in a hot tub under a light sprinkle of rain? They even gave us a late checkout since there was no one else checking in. We would definitely recommend this house and hope to stay here again!

A wonderful and relaxing weekend

  • 5 of 5

This is the third year in a row that my husband and I have been to Gladwin House. Every year we enjoy it so much! Lance and Ai Ling are such gracious hosts. Everything you need is in their vacation home. Their bedrooms are clean and fresh. They have things for adults, for kids, and even for babies. Their home is well stocked with kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and everything else you need for cooking. They always have a nice fire going in the fireplace when you arrive. My husband went oyster digging this morning and caught a big bucket of them. My dogs love walking by the water and in the sand. My son and girlfriend came yesterday and they enjoyed their stay as well. It is a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Everyone is very nice. It was a wonderful experience! Thanks again Lance and Ai Ling!

Perfect weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Everything about our stay at Gladwin House was perfect, beginning with gracious and very responsive communications to book our stay through our checkout. Lance met us at check in and showed us around the house and property, and we were delighted to see how beautiful the space is. The cabin is cozy but spacious, very well equipped, and in an ideal location. The fireplace and hot tub were very much appreciated, and the view from the living room is gorgeous. Our group of six stayed for two nights and had plenty of space to cook, entertain, hang out and play games and music--it was pretty much paradise. We all wanted to stay longer and we will definitely look to return.

Had a wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time at Lance and Ai Ling's vacation home and it was as fun and relaxing as the first time we went there. Lance was there to greet us when we arrived and had a nice warm fire going already and kept the house warm for us. Our grown kids and their significant others came down there for the day on Saturday and we had a fun time clamming and walking along the water. We brought our two small dogs with us and they enjoyed walking in the water as well. The kids stayed for lunch and dinner and they liked the coziness of the house like we did. Even though the cable service was out, we brought a few DVDs along with us, so it worked out fine. Their house is very clean and very welcoming. I am looking forward to next year already when we can come back and stay at their house. Thank you Lance for being such a generous and gracious host to us! Karen and Dan Pinga

Very good.

  • 4 of 5

The Gladwin Cabin was a great place for our family's long weekend getaway. The log cabin, though an old structure with a single bathroom, is charming, essentially well cared for & equipped. The owners, Ali and Lance, were gracious hosts & responsive to the needs of our party, which included two toddlers & our family dog. The property, which is located directly on the canal, has a three foot concrete wall separating beach area from the backyard that was a bonus with our group. We enjoyed the access to nearby playground, the ability to walk to the state park & exploring the wonders of the shore.
