Eric is an amazing host with an awesome cabin! The location is exactly where we needed to be and the cabin is exactly what we needed to disconnect, even if only for a couple of nights. Highly recommend and will book again!

The property is very nice. It's updated and gorgeous inside and out. There is a nice view from the deck and plenty of area to park. Unfortunately, there was a burn ban while we were there, so we could not have any fires at all. We had been looking forward to sitting around the fire pit at night. With that said there is plenty to do otherwise. We went hiking 2 days in RMNP and spent another day shopping in Estes Park. Be aware though, this house is secluded. You're about 15-20 minutes from Lyons and 30-40 from Estes Park. If seclusion is what you're looking for, than this is the place.

Pinecone Palace....you will see why it has this name. Checking in and out was a breeze! We had two adults and two kids (7&13)We only used the upstairs for sleeping. Beds are comfortable and the upstairs stays nice and cool with the windows open. This kitcken is equipped with all you need to make about any meal! Just need to get your groceries before heading out to the cabin. The shower downstairs, we couldn't figure out. So we used the bathtub for the youngest. I never found a drain plug so I used a washed cloth to stop it from draining.We were suppose to have two more adults with us. Had that been the case with one shower, I think it would have made things a little time challenging. We never found the short walking trail to water. There is water down the road, but I wouldn't want to walk down the hill and back up. We just stopped with the car and checked it out. The road getting in the drive way are a little rough. Only because it's steep and gravel. We have a Malibu and it done just fine with the second drive way. No way it would make it up the first one. Being pet friendly, there are leashes for your pups. The drive on 7, from either way is gorgeous. All in all we had plenty of space for four and would have had plenty of space with six people. I liked layout of the cabin. We could be cooking, visiting and watching tv and still be together. We would stay again if ever in the same area.

The Pinecone Palace was the perfect getaway for our family. It was close enough to town to be convenient but far enough to feel like we really had space to relax. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed to cook a few meals as well. We had fun exploring the property a bit and enjoyed the proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park as well. We would absolutely stay here agin if we ever return to the area.

A Slice of Heaven

Everything of amazing! Communication was great! If you are going to enjoy all the mountains have to offer, this is perfect. The peace, the quiet, the sound of a river flowing in the background. The hummingbirds buzzing all around you. It was amazing. The only thing I would say if you were staying for awhile would be, get your groceries at Safeway in Estes Park, or Walmart in Longmontdepening what direction you're coming from. The little market in Lyons doesn’t have much and is super expensive. The market is very cute and friendly but we needed more for cheaper for the length of stay we stayed. The only other suggestion i would have for the owner would be to leave a map of sorts to show guests where they can hike around the property. It says it's 6 acres, but it's difficult to tell which is theirs and the neighbors. But we did enjoy driving to the nearby river and walking around. It was perfect for us, and our teenagers. They took the upstairs and had a great place to unwind after the long days. Playing family games was fun in our downtime after going to the beautiful and amazing Estes Park.

Cabin in the mountains! Erik’s pinecone palace is a wonderful place to getaway. Three very large bed rooms, with very comfortable beds, large showers and a claw foot tub. A wraparound porch with a wonderful view of the mountains. You can hear the stream running in the distance, it’s that quiet. The kitchen is very large and spacious. Games available if that’s your thing. Ceiling fans move the summer air. We were ther when the high for the day in Lyons was 93 and had to close the windows at night because it got too cool. Perfect size for three couples plus kids.

Beautiful Cabin!

My family of 4 throughly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is close to Rocky Mountain National park. There was plenty of room for us to spread out after a day of exploring. It was nice to sit on the front porch and watch the hummingbirds.

Rainy and chilly, so did not soend time outside at night. Loves having humming birds around. Appreciate the work on dirt roads was not mucky. Kitchen and bedrooms were nice.

Amazing location.

The location was wonderful. The property was beautiful and functional. Our family came from out of town to attend a wedding and stayed for almost a week.The owner/manager was very responsive before and during our stay. We would definitely consider booking again in the future.

The Pinecone Palace Performed Perfectly!

We loved staying here! The home was very cozy, well appointed, and had everything we needed. The owner/manager was very responsive before and during our stay. We had a huge snowstorm that turned the place into a winter wonderland. We were in town for a wedding but didn’t want to leave the house! I would definitely recommend this home.

Very clean, beds comfortable

Fell off the steps -no railing twice. Black and blue all over my face. Solar lights old and don’t work. Closets locked only one closet up stairs to use with vacuum and mop and bucket..stored. Not enough towels Lights in refrigerator works then doesn’t. Left one day early.

Family Tie

Our family of 6 - all adults- had a wonderful stay at Pinecone Palace. The cabin was as photographed. Beds slept great. Everything worked. Plenty of space for us to be together and to spread out. We hiked in RMNP and Roosevelt. Spent time in Lyons - do your main grocery shopping in Longmont. The road up was very rutted, but our minivan did fine. We had a wonderful time!

Mountain Life

We absolutely loved stay at this location! The house was very spacious, comfortable and clean. We also saw plenty of wildlife, deer, turkey, squirrels and rams ( maybe it was called something else, but it had horns like a ram). We would definitely stay here again when in the Lyons area!

Nearby Holiday retreat to the mountains.

My family was thrilled with our Thanksgiving retreat at the Pinecone Palace. The cabin was spotless and very homey. The kitchen was perfect for preparing and serving our feast. We especially loved the all the live plants, to us that makes like it a home, not a rental. Eric was a wonderful host. He communicated everything we needed to know. The first snow of the season was expected and he left us what we needed to keep the beautiful porch clear of snow/ice. It was so nice that we only had a short drive yet felt like we were miles away from everything. It was apparent this was is their families 2nd home. We felt so lucky they shared it with us. We would highly recommend this property and plan to rent again if still available in the future.

Great Place!

Loved the cabin. Clean and very well stocked. Glad we have all wheel drive though as the road is bad. Need hand towels in the bathrooms.
