About this property
Charming 2 bedroom cottage In a wooded Wells neighborhood very near the beach
Air-Conditioned, pet-friendly, quiet cottage with vintage charm sleeps six with two bedrooms and a trundle bed on the spacious sun porch, which is also a great breakfast area and excellent for relaxing enjoying those summer nights with all the windows open.
The great kitchen space, which includes a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and 4 burner stove, also has a side door for easy access to vehicles and a large, beautiful backyard for those summer cookouts. Gas grill/BBQ and utensils available for your use.
Being on the ocean side of Rte 1 (and far away enough to enjoy this quiet neighborhood) you are less than a mile from great ocean views and 1.8 miles from Wells beach, accessible along a pleasant, scenic coastal road. The house provides a great central location for access to coastal drives, restaurants, sites, and great Wells antique and specialty shops as well as shopping for all your general needs. You are minutes away from Ogunquit and Kennebunkport in this central location, and the best ice cream shop in the entire area is located on Eldridge road, right off of Batchelder lane.
My home is very pet friendly and there is an entertainment center with a flat screen TV, DVD/CD, Cable apps, and digital music capability. Movies, books, and games are also available.
Prime summer weeks are now available!

Cute little cottage on quiet street, loved sitting out on the porch. Very close to beaches, restaurants and of course the famous Ice Cream, the Scoop Deck. Was allowed to bring my dog and she loved going to the beach at night because dogs are allowed on Wells beaches after 6pm.

It was a pleasure to rent to you. Please come again. Thanks.
This cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood and was perfect for our needs. The kitchen is very small, but I didn't want to spend time there anyway. They could use a couple of more towel hooks in the bathroom, but overall we could not have asked for anything better. We will be back!

Thanks so much for the review. While I appreciate the review, I just want to be clear to all who read this that the pictures of the kitchen are representative of the size. And there is an expandable wooden towel rack in the master bedroom closet for guests' convenience. Upgrades to amenities are always taken into consideration, so thank you.
My husband and I and our two dogs spent a week here in July. The cottage was in the perfect location; a great backyard, so close to the beaches, and probably too close to the famous Scoop Deck, seeing as we were there nightly! : ). We had a little issue with one of my dogs who decided chewing on furniture would be a good habit to pick up while on vacation. Shaun was great to work with, and to my surprise said we were welcome back! We hope to make our way back soon.
This was a great place to stay having our dog. We never bring our dogs on vacation to Maine. This year we had some things going on and wanted to bring him.
It was a great area to take him for walks. The owner of the house was out of the country and still got back to questions I had about the air conditioner. He was quick and helpful.
If you’re looking for a house that is dog friendly and in a great location this is the place.

Thank you so much, Johanna. You and your family were great guests and are welcome back any time.
Family of five and two dogs enjoyed our stay in Wells. House served us well for the week to explore the towns around us. Scoop Deck around the corner for ice cream was amazing, make it a stop there’s a reason they have lines every night. Enjoyed pizza from La Pizzeria in Ogunquit. Pans available to cook fresh lobster at the house. Several close beach access spots. It was rainy lately and with the marsh proximity mosquitoes were a battle at times at the house and out on some of our walks on the trails locally so pack spray. If your looking for fancy kept looking but if a cute little house to lay your head down at and occasionally cook at us all you need this is perfect! Only wish there was a fire pit out back to unwind with in the evenings otherwise no complaints and would stay again!

Great location but…
Great location, walking distance to beach. Sean very helpful with Wi-Fi problems to get us on. Just wish more info about sign in and password was there. Also problem getting cable working but Sean helped with that also. Kitchen and bedrooms were fine but overall cleanliness left a little to be desired. We needed to vacuum cottage.
Bathroom had a urine smell the whole time. Sean installed an air purifier but smell was there our whole stay. Needed to run purifier all day.
Washer worked but dryer didn’t.
Air conditioners worked fine but house had a musty smell.
Sean was a lot of help but this place needs some upgrades.

Al's review is really unfortunate and disheartening. I bent over backwards for him and his wife. First, he booked two weeks, then canceled due to an "emergency" that he never elaborated on, and after the window of refund was possible. Even though that was the case, clearly spelled out ahead of time, and he never elaborated on his "emergency", I told him if I rented the two weeks I would return the money. I rented one of the weeks and was waiting on the other, but he couldn't wait and somehow now he could come for the remaining week, so he rebooked; or I should say I had to walk him through the rebooking. By the time he was arriving I was experiencing an odor issue that is now resolved. Unfortunately, I could not resolve it before he went in, so I called him to alert him to the problem and offered to refund him if he wanted to pull out of the rental. He said he was fine with it and would still come. He shows up with his wife and I am on the phone with him throughout the weekend about operating the WiFi and the TV, but he never mentions the odor. Directions for both the WiFi and TV are clearly spelled out in the document that I send concerning house information. When I finally walked him through the WiFi step by step I found that they were trying to access a completely different network and that's why they couldn't connect. The name of my network and the wireless key/password are clearly spelled out with labels on the side of the WiFi/router tower. You don't even have to move the box to see them. I don't know what to say about the TV. I vividly detail how to operate the TV in the info document that I sent, but ended up having to walk him through that as well. And additionally, he has to mention an odor that I alerted him to and mitigated as much as I could for his stay by purchasing a very expensive air purifier. He knew about it going in, so why mention it in a review. He was aware of what he was getting into. I basically had to hold his hand at every step of the way and this is how he repays me. I was respectful and kind during the process, but not after such a review. As for the cleaning issue, he never mentioned it during his stay. If he had let me know that the cleaning was not up to his standards, I would have sent the maid back to the house. Hosts, beware this renter.

I agree with the reviewer who wrote "Buyer Beware"
The owner is pleasant but the cottage was different than advertised. It says that it sleeps 6 - not. It says that there is a queen size bed - actually it's not a queen, it's a full. You think you'll have TV, no. But there is a TV that you can use if you rent DVD's, but you won't have access to television. The place was boiling hot, no A/C and we couldn't open windows because there were holes in screens and mosquitoes were coming in. Heat was coming through heater during the heat wave - it was cooler outside! Pretty little cottage but I wouldn't recommend it.

My cottage does sleep 6. There is a full bed advertised as a full bed that sleeps 2. There are two twin beds that sleep one person each, and there is a trundle bed that sleeps two stepped or pulls out to full that sleeps two people side by side. That equals 6.
There is no air conditioning and I do not advertise that I have air conditioning, so you do get what is advertised. As for TV, there is TV, but no cable, and I do not advertise that I have cable. I do provide free WiFi and a connection cord for USB to the TV; you can stream movies or watch Netflix or whatever you want through your laptop or other device. I often watch TV through the flat screen TV using my smartphone, but I try to limit my TV watching when I'm there vacationing near the beach in beautiful Maine. I can usually watch TV at my regular home. There is a Redbox close by where you can rent movies to use in the provided DVD player.
I do provide fans and with the open windows there can be quite a nice breeze, but yes, it is hot in the summer. That is true. It is hot during the summer. As for holes in the screens, there are holes to let the air into the house as screens do. Other than that, I'm not sure what to say. The windows are not new, but they are in good condition. So, obviously, there is wear. I do provide three fans (two standing and one floor).
That should cover it as far as a short response. I won't go on with the problems I experienced with this renter, but the list is quite long. I bent over backwards and I'm dismayed to see that my good nature and attention to customer service ended with this review.
Beautiful neighborhood. House is adorable. Shawn was very much a great host. What little inconveniences were addressed right away. All in all a great place to come too. Will come again.
The house was as expected. The home is in a nice quit neighborhood with a private backyard that we and our dog enjoyed very much. We had a couple questions and found the owner to be very responsive.
We had a wonderful stay here! Close walk to the beach, quiet neighborhood, and lots of ice cream right around the corner! Shaun was very informative and communicative, which I appreciated very much. Being able to bring our dog with us on this trip was also a big treat, so big thanks to Shaun for allowing this property to be pet friendly. Would book again!
My mom, dog, and I had a great stay here. Everything was as expected, and Shaun was very communicative and helpful. I also appreciated the prompt return of the deposit (very rare!). Would definitely stay again.
The cottage had everything we needed. It was comfortable, clean & plenty of room. Nice, quiet neighborhood but close to beaches, restaurants etc. We’re very happy we chose this rental.
We stayed at this property a couple of years ago, and once again had a great time. Shaun is very responsive, and the location is fantastic. Highly recommended!
The cottage was well equipped and loved that we were able to check in so early.
We enjoyed early morning walks on the beach with our dog. Several of our family members were here the same week and we had a little gathering on the beautiful front porch.
Would recommend this place for families who like peace and quiet.
We loved the location of this property. Very quiet neighborhood. Fully stocked kitchen.
Close walk to the beach which I did every morning with the dog. Short drive to Ogunquit, Kennebunk Port and many other points of interest. Perfect for families with dogs. We adored the sunny front porch with lots of windows and space were we had our diners and relaxed to the cool ocean air breeze.
The owner clearly takes great care of the property and its renters. Thanks!
Great memories were made this vacation!
First the pros: easy to get to off Route 1 and beach is a mile away. Was immaculate when we arrived and had all the basics. Air conditioning was definitely welcome as there were one or 2 very hot days.
The cons: in

Enjoyable, pet friendly cottage!
Family and pet friendly cottage on a very nice, quiet street. Cottage is close enough to wonderful beaches, restaurants, places of interest etc, yet far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet too. Having A/C, cable, wifi and a washer/dryer are all a big plus. Lots to do and see in the area!
