About Steve Baker
Hi, I'm Steve Baker, the owner of Cedarbrook. I was born in New Jersey, but have discovered there's no place like East Tennessee. I am on the road quite often, but can always count on great R&R every time I can visit this chalet in the Smoky Mountains.
Steve Baker purchased this Chalet in 1993
Why Steve Baker chose Gatlinburg
I have discovered that Gatlinburg is one of the most unique places I have ever been. It borders the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And it exhibits a mountain character that is preserved in time. My chalet is located on a mountainside in the city limits called Chalet Village. This village contains hundreds of unique chalets and log homes. Every home is unique in its design. This has been the perfect area to own a home
What makes this Chalet unique
The biggest benefit is the incredible peace and serenity of sitting on the deck and listening to the stream next to the chalet and looking out over the beautiful mountainside scenery. Perhaps the biggest thrill is watching bears that often stroll along the road and along the creek beds.

Our first family vacation
The great room was fabulous. Kitchen was very well equipped. 3 bathrooms was so convenient. Loved the porch and rockers. We were visited by a mama bear and 3 cubs our last morning there. An unforgettable experience.
Beautiful home on the side of a mountain!
Our stay was great at this chalet. We were able to watch the Ober Gatlinburg lift go by in the morning while drinking coffee in the rocking chairs. The gas grill makes it nice to save money and eat at the chalet which has all the needed utensils and dishes needed for our crew of 6. I personally loved the proximity to SMNP which is only about a 10 minute drive. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were very clean with all new faucets and hardware. I didn't feel the house was dated as others said but more of that cosy mountain feel to it. Loved having the pool table and we rarely even used the TV between it and the big table to play cards on. Steep incline to drive to the house and not a very big yard if you have kids but neither bothered us at all. This is a great place for the cost and we will definitely be back to rent this chalet again.
Home away from home in the mountains!
Our family loved our time at Cedarbrook! This chalet was the perfect mountain home. Cedarbrook had lots of character and was very clean and comfortable. Perfect location, as we were able to easily get downtown and to Ober. No need for us to look for a place to stay on our next visit to Gatlinburg, we have found our place!!!
Nice and Clean
This chalet was nice and clean. It had everything we needed.
The property is clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The owner is very responsive to emails on the needs of the property. Our family had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.
We loved it
We had a great time. The chalet was great for 3 couples. We had a peaceful, wonderful time. The porch view was wonderful. The living spaces were comfortable, the galley kitchen was usable and the gas grill was an added bonus. We liked that the grill had a timer (although we did not need it, but loved that there was a backup). The owner was very responsive and great. We would definitely come back
