Oceanfront home with magnificent views

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths1
Space 1,430 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

2 bedrooms, loft, 1 full bathroom, 1 half bathroom, sleeps 6

This lovely home we call Stonehaven is serene, secluded, scenic, sunny, spacious and situated on a one acre wooded lot - only steps away from the shoreline. As you walk in, you will be greeted by the spectacular ocean view. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a king size bed and a petite / private room with a twin bed.

Walk into the living area and there is a cathedral ceiling with windows from top to bottom and a futon that comfortably sleeps one. Go upstairs to the spacious loft with two twin beds, one with a pull out twin bed. There’s plenty of room to sit and watch a movie. During high tide, look out to the ocean and you will feel as if you are on a cruise liner…. without the sway of course.

Discover the beauty of Maine in this quiet community!

Acadia National Park's Schoodic Point offers hiking/biking trails, kayaking, and magnificent scenery; quaint villages, shops, studio galleries, restaurants, yacht club, golf course, and working lobster harbors, whale watching, cruises and lobster & clam bakes; all along quiet byways of the Peninsula. Home to the world-renowned Schoodic Arts Festival, International Sculpture Symposium, and Hammond Hall performing arts center. There’s even a ferry to Bar Harbor (when you are there please say Bah Hahbah otherwise people will think you’re from the South) if you feel you must leave the peace of Schoodic.

Find out about the festivals, farmer's markets and community activities at the Schoodic Chamber of Commerce. Visit their website.

We recommend you go to the Schoodic Acadia Magic website and move the cursor over an area, click and you will be led to a site that explains that area in detail. It’s a great site to learn and discover all there is to do on the peninsula.

Beautiful location, amazing weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Truth be told, I was a little nervous going into the weekend. Stonehaven is on the quiet side of Acadia. With April still the off season and the weather looking decidedly winterish, I wasn't sure how things would go. Stonehaven couldn't have been more perfect. The location was beautiful and the house cozy. With all the windows it was the perfect place to watch the ocean, particular when the storm brought in the rough seas. The house is well-outfitted and had everything we needed; from lobster pots to a fan in every bed room. The sound system was fantastic. As for location, despite it being off season we had plenty to do. We had dinner one night at the Pickled Wrinkle, fun vibe, terrific food and trivia. The next day we spent exploring Schoodic Point and brought lobsters and scallops home for dinner. We slept to the sound of the ocean and had the most relaxing weekend. Can't wait to come back!

Exactly what we hoped for!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at your home, was everything we had hoped for! The view was amazing watching the sun come up over the water, the boats going out of the bay and returning each evening, and the true peacefulness was rejuvenating! The community was "Perfect Maine" Thanks again for letting us enjoy it as a "Mainer"

Amazing views, private location and plenty of room for family of five!

  • 5 of 5

Great location and access to Acadia trails on Schoodic Peninsula. Short drive to neighboring towns on the peninsula with plenty of options for small-town shops, food and fresh seafood. We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy of the location, yet only a 60 minute drive to Bar Harbor and the more well-known trails and sights of Acadia National Park.

The view of the Prospect Harbor and lobster boats can be seen from inside the home making sunrise and sunset an amazing experience. Thoroughly enjoyed the deck and fire pit on the rocky beach.

Plenty of room for our family of 5 with room to spare.

Definitely would rent this again if given the opportunity and extremely easy working with the owners. Overall great experience!!!

Amazing views! Perfect place to unplug and relax!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a relaxing 2 night stay at Stonehaven. We all appreciated the private, coastal beauty that this property offers. Hearing the ocean and viewing the night sky was our favorite part of the stay. All of the amenities were just as advertised. The directions that the owner provided made our arrival easy. We were easily able to explore Schoodic Point, the Schoodic Peninsula, and Corea. We took the 45 minute ferry to Bar Harbor to spend a day visiting the town and the main area of Acadia National Park. We did this simply to avoid the drive/parking but it ended up being a fun experience in itself. We were lucky to see bald eagles, seals, and porpoise from the boat on the way. It was all very beautiful but we enjoyed being able to have our home base away from the crowds of Bar Harbor. Waking up at daybreak and seeing lobster boats offshore checking their pots was a delightful experience. The sun rises and views were simply amazing. If we ever make it back to the area, we would definitely choose to stay at Stonehaven again! Thank you for sharing your coastal cottage with us!

Stonehaven was part of our dream trip to New England. We stayed there for 3 nights, and only wish we would have stayed longer! It was beautiful and immaculate, with fabulous scenery! We absolutely loved watching the sun rise and took so many photos, so that we could take a piece of Stonehaven home with us! Tom was easy to communicate with, very informative and has created a very comfortable get-away for his guests! The house is well equipped with anything you might need! Our stay in this home was the highlight of our trip and we sincerely hope to return for another visit (and we will definitely stay longer)! Thank you again, Tom!

SHHHH - - - -I'm keeping this one a secret.

  • 5 of 5

I'm not telling anyone how beautiful this place is. I'm keeping it to myself. I'm not mentioning how amazing the property is or how stunning the view of the open ocean is or how relaxing our stay was. It's hard to imagine that there would be anyone that could enjoy, as much as me, sitting on the deck, with a nice glass of wine, doing nothing but watching the "Labstah" boats working their traps. There is so much to do and experience in the area that I'm sure if I told anyone how amazing our little get away was they wouldn't hesitate to book their own trip to this little piece of paradise.
