Celebrating our 10th year offering this special property for your Downeast Maine vacation! Seaside cabin on the Schoodic Peninsula located within 60 feet of the ocean. Completely updated throughout. Hear the waves lap along the granite shore, feel the ocean breeze, see the Sally Islands off in the distance, as well as the bold open ocean. At night you can see the flashing light of Petit Manan Lighthouse, Maine's second tallest light, built before the Civil War on a rock ledge two miles out to to sea.
The ocean view faces east across the water so the sunrises and moon rises are spectacular. See shore birds, marine life, and hear the loons call. Lobster boats work the area so you can watch them work from the front deck or along the shore.
The property is nicely wooded and you will have a private setting. Neighboring homes are shielded from view by a beautiful arbor of spruce, balsam, pine, etc. The shoreline is a combination of granite boulders and ledge rock. The water is deep, keeping a beautiful water view which is not affected by the twice daily Maine tide.
The cabin is a classic example of Maine craftsmanship. The interior is pine tongue and groove on the walls and the ceilings on both levels. The first floor living area has a pine plank floor. The second level structure has exposed wood beams and floor planking. The cabin has wifi internet.
Level One includes a dining area and living area with a local granite wood-burning fireplace. There is a new, comfortable sofa and chair/ottoman. Also on this level is a full bath and a generous sized newly updated Kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and all the dishes and utensils you need. Level Two has a front master bedroom with full bed and a balcony that looks out over the ocean and out to the distant flashing lighthouse. The back bedroom has a pine bunk bed with a full size mattress on bottom and a single on top. There is also another single daybed in an adjacent sitting room. A new half bath separates the front and back bedrooms. All these rooms have pine plank ceilings and pine plank walls, new carpeting, and tile.
Walk or bike a couple miles to Corea Harbor, one of Maine's most picturesque working harbors. There you will find the Lobster Co-op where you can buy fresh lobsters directly from the fishermen. Corea Harbor also has a lobster roll cafe and grille located right on an authentic lobster wharf on the harbor, with great harbor views.
Down the road are the pretty communities of Prospect Harbor and Winter Harbor with many services, restaurants, and shopping. Winter Harbor is the gateway to the Beautiful Acadia National Park - Schoodic Peninsula Section, where you can enjoy strolling the spectacular craggy coast, hike Schoodic's hills, or bike beautiful trails. You can also take the mail boat across Frenchman's Bay from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor, or take the easy drive from Schoodic Peninsula to Mount Desert Island.
The quintessential Schoodic Area is one peninsula 'Downeast' from the more crowded Bar Harbor area and Mount Desert Island.

Our favorite vacation spot!!
This lovely cabin is just as it is described: clean, wonderful waterfront location, fully furnished, great suggestions on things to do and see in the area. This is our second visit and will not be our last. We especially look forward to the quiet, peaceful setting, fires by the beach. Watching the loons, seals, ducks and lobster boats in the bay; a little slice of paradise. Bob is easy to contact and work with, we've never had any problems.
A real Maine Expereince
A secluded cottage with amazing views yet close to everything is the best way to describe it. Waking up to lobster boats, outdoor fires in the evening, fresh lobsters from Corea co-op, farmers Markets supplying all the necessary fixins, what more can one ask to forget the stresses of today? The cabin is secluded, yet has all the amenities. Also, Bob the owner is very proud of his cottage and it shows. He is very responsive, kind( had to previously cancel due to family emergency) and overall it is a must for someone who wants to experience coastal Maine to spend at least a week here.
We will definitely return to our home away from home!!!!
Great cottage in a fantastic setting
We spent a fantastic mid-August week in this cottage and we were not disappointed. The ability to vacation with our Great Dane was a huge plus and she enjoyed this slice of Maine heaven as much as we did. Although neighbors are close by, the waterfront setting and landscaping is such so that all you feel is relaxation and solitude – you’ll feel like you’re the only folks on the bay, except for the lobstermen and lobsterwomen that you can wave to every morning from one of two decks as you watch the spectacular sunrise.
This was our first visit to this part of Maine and Bob, the owner, provides so much great information, you just can’t go wrong if you follow his tips. Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island are close by and the Schoodic Peninsula and friendly fishing villages are right down the street. Also, having a washer, dryer, and dishwasher is a huge convenience. And having cable TV and WiFi is great, if you want it (and great to forget about, if you don’t -- it’s your choice!) The entire rental process was a breeze and Bob was very responsive to all of our inquiries. The cottage was clean, comfortable, cozy, and well-stocked – they thought of everything – and the setting can’t be beat! My wife and I highly recommend this rental and would love to return to it soon!
What a view!
we have been to Maine many many times over the years and this trip and house did not disappoint. The view was outstanding, the location was superb and the owner of the cabin was awesome to work with. He gave us suggestions on local stuff to see and do, we were close to everything but far enough away to avoid the crowds. The Corea Coop was awesome for fresh lobster, cooked every day and sometimes for breakfast. Schoodic is the ideal getaway if you are looking to truly getaway. If and when we head back out east this spot will definitely be on our radar
The pictures don't lie!
My husband and I had a lovely stay at this peaceful home. The pictures are not in the least deceptive. It really is that close to the ocean! We heard maybe two cars a day. Otherwise, the only manmade sound we heard were the lobster boats out on the bay. We could even hear the lobstermen talking on the boats! The neighbors homes are close, but you don't see them because the trees hide them and we really didn't hear the neighbors at all while we were there. The full kitchen is awesome and so easy to prepare meals in! There is plenty of outdoor seating and it's very easy to spend the day just watching the ocean. Chaise lounges would be a welcome addition to the outdoor seating because it's an ideal setting to nap and relax the day away. The house was clean and welcoming and had everything we needed. Check your cell coverage before you arrive because there is no landline or internet, so if you have no cell reception(like us) you may want to buy an inexpensive Tracfone just for emergencies. We have rented a lot of homes in a lot of places but have never, ever stayed in one that we would consider returning to, until now. We are hopeful that we will return to this clean, quiet, peaceful location again.
Cabin owner has Verizon cell coverage and can get emails, texts and phone calls easily at the cabin on smartphone. Verizon recently installed an upgraded cell tower on Schoodic Peninsula that has improved coverage.

This was our second visit to this beautiful Downeast cottage and the quiet and mesmerizing area of Schoodic Peninsula. We were here in June 2013 during the same week. The cottage is spectacular, very welcoming, very warm and comfortable, and it has everything you could possibly need; if it is not there, you don't need it! The owner, Bob, provides so much information about the area, you do not have to spend any time researching for yourself. His restaurant suggestions, activities available, etc. are right on. We have not been disappointed yet! The weather was perfect the whole week. We saw the most amazing sunrises and the moon was incredible each night. It is totally etched on our mind! Schoodic Point is relaxing and takes away all the stress you may have come with. Sitting on the deck at the cottage does the same thing! My husband and I totally recommend this cottage and definitely salute it with five stars. We would give it double that if available! We celebrated the perfect vacation, both stress-free and peaceful in Downeast Acadia. We cannot wait to return to our little piece of paradise!
This property is quiet, updated, and very well maintained and serviced, and has a rock ledge frontage with deep water so the rise and fall of the tide will not affect the beautiful water view. Lobster boats work the waters directly in front of the cabin. There is a distant view of Petit Manan Lighthouse, Maine's second tallest, which flashes beautifully across the ocean at night. The Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park is about 8 miles away with unique and beautiful oceanfront, biking and hiking. The Schoodic Peninsula also includes three of Maine's most picturesque working harbors: Winter Harbor, Prospect Harbor, and Corea Harbor. Corea Harbor also has a lobster fisherman's cooperative only a couple miles from the cabin that sells to the public fresh lobsters daily at wholesale prices. Corea Harbor also has a harbor front grille located on a actual lobster wharf hat serves excellent lobster rolls, as well as grilles foods and deserts, etc. There is a beautiful view of the working harbor at this wharf. Bike/kayak rentals and restaurants are close by.
