  • Cozy and Comfortable Cottage!!

"We really enjoyed staying at the Sea Turtle this vacation! We had more than enough space for our family of 4 and really appreciated being able to bring our dog along as well. It was clean and the decor made you feel right at home as soon as you stepped through the door. We loved all of the antique furniture, the decorative 'beach' touches throughout, and the piano which we had fun playing every day. It was stocked with everything we needed for our week. The area was great. We spent many days on the beach in Gulfport and Long Beach. We drove to the beach every day, though it would not have been a bad walk at all. It was hot and we had a lot of stuff to take and with plenty of parking it didn't make sense to lug it all when we could just drive and park where we wanted. The best beach was Ship Island. The ferry ride was fun, the beach was beautiful, and the water was clearer than the other beaches we were on. We searched for shells and it was fun to watch the blue crabs scurry away as you walked up to them as we had never seen anything like that before. Would recommend just renting the umbrellas and chairs they have there as it's a little walk to the beach from the pier where you're let off. Tony's Brick Oven Pizzeria was excellent downtown and we appreciated the gift certificate Beth left for us when we got there. That was very thoughtful and was a nice treat after a long drive to get there! We also ate at Steve's Marina Restaurant one night (really good and sat outside on the balcony) and Shaggy's (sat on the balcony-fun, but we weren't as crazy about the food here..) We visited the Gulfport outlet mall one day and Beauvoir (Jefferson Davis' home) and the Katrina Memorial; both in Biloxi. New Orleans was a little over an hour away so that made for a fun and enjoyable day trip. I have always wanted to go there and it did not disappoint; food, music, shopping, and people. All in all, this trip was fantastic and there were so many different things to do and see. And lastly, if you go, get up early and do not miss the sunrises' at Gulfport Harbor. They are beautiful and what a way to start the day........ No regrets! We would stay here again if we ever get back to the area. Thanks for creating such a relaxing and comfy space, Beth!"

  • Romantic weekend

"My husband and I were lucky enough to find this gem. It is perfectly appointed, completely private and is everything I could have asked for and more. The property has an amazing view of the mighty Mississippi from the porch where you will likely have your morning coffee. If you venture out at sunset rest assured Ms. Carol has insect spray in the kitchen so you won't be bothered by the mosquitoes. The owners have literally thought of everything. There were binoculars for bird watching, suggestions for restaurants, a variety of breakfast and snack items and so much more. The sun porch is perfect for a good book or a nap. I took advantage of the claw foot tub after sight seeing and hubby enjoyed not missing the football game on the TV. Thank you so much Ms. Carol for sharing your slice of heaven with us for our anniversary!!"

  • Perfect Beach Cottage for 2

"The cottage was lovely and just the right size for a couple with two little dogs. Totally private and cozy. The beach was right across the street and it was the perfect location between Biloxi and Bay St. Louis. Can't wait to visit again!"

  • Weekend getaway

"We chose Carroll House Cottage because it was off the beaten path but still close to restaurants and shops. The cottage was in back of the main house with a cute front porch and beautiful garden. The house was in a very nice neighborhood, so we were able to safely walk to places. The cottage was well equipped for all our needs including cookies upon our arrival. The cottage was very clean and pictures were accurate including a very comfortable bed. Check in and check out was super easy also. Breakfast was included in our stay, and it was worth getting up and dressed for 8:30; don't miss it! We were told that the owner had a store on Main Street, so we decided to stop by to say hello. Be sure to visit her shop too; very nice women's clothes and t- shirts. The Carroll House Cottage in Bay St. Louis is a great place for 2 people for either a short or long visit."
