Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose Belleayre Mountain
I have been skiing the Catskills Mountains for over 40 years and after my daughter graduated from college, we finally purchased a vacation home for our family use, in anticipation of our grandchildren. Weeping Willow is a very large historic Queen Anne Victorian which has been meticulously restored and designed for comfort and modern conveniences. It is well suited for family reunions, large group gatherings and weddings.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Weeping Willow is very large and luxuriously appointed with a Professional Viking Kitchen, high end antiques, comfortable leather sofas and various flat screen HDTVs. We are 2 miles from Belleayre Mountain, fishing holes, hiking trails and a Village Park. There are many golf courses around the area and the fishing is ideal since we are surrounded by NYC watershed.
A restored 1899 Queen Anne Victorian home, with period antiques, comfortable leather sofas, modern Viking kitchen appliances, rocking chair porch, extra large deck across from the Village Park awaits
Owner's Map of Belleayre Mountain

We and another family enjoyed staying here over Christmas vacation and skiing at nearby Bellayre Mountain, which is under five minutes away. The home could not be lovelier or more charmingly decorated. Even with two families, this spacious home allowed plenty of comfort and privacy. Cooking for a crowd was easy and fun in the very equipped kitchen. We would love to come back here again!

We have rented this house for New Year's eve of 2011. From the very beginning the manger was very helpful, and answered all of our questions and responding promptly to our calls, and E-mails. The house looks just like on the photos and was big enough for us, with 12 adults and 7 kids.... The kitchen had plenty of space for all of our food and for us-spent most of our time in there, socializing... The whole house was full of everything a traveler might need, towels, blankets, entertainment, glasses, plates...... We all had a great time and couldn't stop wondering, how lucky we got with the house...We have rented other houses that were in bad shape or lacked basic things.. Thank you so much for letting us have this great vacation!!!

Just returned from a family (10 people) and 1 dog weekend. The kids were learning snowboarding, the adults went skiing and some went shopping. Everything is so close it was easy to find something to do for everyone. The home is very comfortable, cozy & warm. It has all the amenities you need or could want. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen was great -- we cooked some awesome meals. It was the best place to be for super bowl weekend !
Owner response: Weeping Willow is very close to Belleaye Mountain and accessible to Platerkill, Hunter and Windham Mountains. I am pleased that you enjoyed the Professional Viking kitchen for your awesome meals. The two HDTVs must have made the super bowl weekend memorable for your family reunion.

We have celebrated my son's birthday at Weeping Willow for two years in a row and are booking our third stay there. We travel extensively, stay in many high end places and are pretty particular about lodging. We were delighted to find such a nice place to return to after a day of skiing in the Catskills. We have often been disappointed with places that looked great in the pictures on the web but turned out to be entirely different in reality. In contrast, Weeping Willow was even better than the photos and description indicated. We went with two other families consisting of 6 adults and 8 children and the house easily accommodated all of us comfortably with room to spare. The adults stayed on the second floor and the children were all on the third floor. There are two separate rooms on the third floor where the two girls stayed while the six boys stayed in the dorm style large room. We opted to cook at the house as the kitchen is extremely well equipped and the large dining room allowed us to all eat together. There were plenty of games to play and a music system to listen to music. The house was warm, cozy and comfortable. The owner was a delight to deal with, flexible, accessible, helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property to a friend or relative (or anyone else!).

I can't begin to express express my gratitude to you for allowing my now husband and I to use this home for our wedding this past summer. My mother arranged for a large family reunion there almost two years ago (?) and I knew it was the place. At the time, I wasn't sure if you would even consider it, but since the family reunion had gone so well, you offered us a price that COULD NOT be beat-- and all of this for the familiarity of a place that feels like home! We set up a 40'x80' pole tent in the side yard and used nearby caterers Full Moon Resort. They coordinated all of our rentals and spoke with the owners of Weeping Willow directly to be sure that the tents and tables would arrive and be kept safe. I am so grateful for this extra care for my special day! The owner and the caretaker of the home were both available to answer questions and receive deliveries for the occasion. We also had a 20'x20' tent in back of the house and rented portable toilets (fancy ones) to increase the number of bathrooms. The owners also went out of their way to help us ensure that our band would have the electrical they needed-- which involved lots of work on their part! As an added touch, the owner also bought permanent outdoor string lights to light up the deck and the beautiful spiral staircase on that leads up to the top floor of the house. The wedding had 165 people; We had no trouble at all renting rooms in the motels in Fleischmanns. It was perfect-- everyone was within walking distance so that at the end of the night, everyone walked home in big happy groups. It's a safe and quiet town, and we felt like we had it all to ourselves! Conveniently, my in-laws rented two homes up the street on Wagner Ave, making their walk over a bit of a parade! The Willow tree in front of the house was lit with christmas lights creating an incredible entrance to our affair. I could not have asked for a more beautiful, welcoming home in which to share my vows. What's more is that the house sleeps over 20! So we had a great number of our family that traveled far distances staying right at home with us-- making the whole event a bit of an extended family reunion. After the wedding reception, dinner and dancing were over (around 11pm) we all sat around the enjoying the crackle of the fire in the portable fire pit in the backyard. It was a dream. Thank you for all of your support and for helping to make my dream wedding come true!

My family stayed at this wonderful home for 4TH of July weekend 2009. There was a total of 20 of us and there was absolutely no issues with space. The house speaks for itself as you can see by the pictures. The BBQ deck, kitchen, attic and back yard is amazing. Another great aspect of the house is its location. Nice park directly across the street; public pool is about 2-blocks away; nice swimming hole across the street through the park. Water tubing and a cool scenic train ride is nearby as well. This house will not disappoint. Great getaway weekend...we are already reserved for 4TH of July 2010.
Owner response:The Village heated pool is two houses away but the swimming hole across the street through the park is most memorable.

What a weekend we had! Just wanted to let you know that once again a great time was had by all. The skiing was the best it has been in the Northeast as far back as I can remember. Sunday was even better than Saturday because it was less crowded. Hunter and Windham were both closed on Saturday due to no power so they diverted all the skiers to Belleayre Mountain which made for a packed afternoon on the slopes. It was like skiing on cotton balls. I wanted to let you know that the plow did not come until Saturday night and by that time we had already done his job. Friday night we had a shoveling party and believe it or not we shoved enough for ll six cars to be off the street, it was like putting a puzzle together with the vehicles but it was a lot of fun. The kids were outside in the yard all weekend long when they were not skiing and we even went tubing at Platterkill on Saurday night. Your home is the perfect getaway, inviting, cozy, private, comfortable beds, just a stimulant for fun with friends and family. Nice addition in the living room with the new flat screen HDTV. We were able to watch the Olympics without competing with the little kids and their preferences. Thanks again for your hospitality and it was great to meet you in person. Hope you enjoyed your day on the slopes. The group were already asking me when we were getting together in the winter of 2011 and if I had booked any dates yet for Weeping Willow. I think that says it all.

Thank you for sharing your home for our family reunion in the Catskills. Your home is absolutely welcoming, comfortable for our group of 22 people. Your choice of historic colors in the exterior & interior complimented the color scheme of the stain glass windows. We were worried about the seating for dinner, but your extra large dinning room table and side buffet table made it possible for everyone to enjoy a dinner together. Your parlor with period antiques allowed us to imagine what it must have been like to live there years ago. The comfort of the floor pillows allowed the kids to enjoy the HDTV in that room while the adults enjoyed the large HDTV in the family room with the comfortable leather sofas. The kitchen was the delight for all "the Chefs" in our family. There was sufficient counter space on the granite counter tops for all the helpers. Your spice rack was divine and your gajet draw had all the things one could ever want but had no room for. We enjoyed your kitchen so much that we only had time to go out to dinner once at the "Inbetween Resturant" in Archville. The prices were fair, the portions were very good and the food was outstanding. The bedrooms were comfortable, the suites were very nice and your choice of antiques matches the architectural style of your home. The attic space was a wonderful surprise with the two private bedrooms and the other beds were nicely placed. The kids loved this space the most. The backyard spiral fire escape was artistically done. My daughter fell in love it and now she wants to get married there next year. The two BBQ grills were sufficient for our group and the side yard provided roaming space for the children and the dog. The park across the street was was an extra playground for the kids. There was a vintage base ball game going on which we all enjoyed. Grandpa said that he liked the front porch and hammock the most since it remined his of the time when he asked grandma to marry him. Our family reunion group consisted of 8 year old to 86 year old and we would recommend it for anyone in between. The swimming pool, just down the street was closed and we must have missed the opening day by a week since they are only open during July and August. We did discover the swimming hole at the end of the park across the street. My husband, kids & dog enjoyed this the most. They caught three fish which we ate for lunch. The drinking water was so fresh and cold that we did not have t
Owner response:Thank you for your kind review. Weeping Willow has been used my many families for family reunions since we started renting it out and we continue to improve our offering in the area of electronics, kitchen gadgets and future basement improvements.

Four generations of family, sixteen of us from 4 to 92 years old, from the East, South, and Midwest converged on quaint, quiet Fleischmanns in July, 2009. The house was exactly as described (with one exception -- see below): old but very well kept. Den, living room, dining room, a half-bath, and kitchen on main floor. Lots of seating here and there for subgroups. The kitchen was excellent. One of our group was a professional chef, and she couldn't stop raving about the appliances, utensils, and provisions. The dining room has a smallish table, so a large group indoors won't be able to eat all in one room. There are four private bedrooms on the second floor, two with ensuite bathrooms, and two sharing a bath in the hall. All clean and comfortable. Up another flight in the attic are two more private rooms plus a "dormitory" with about six more beds and one more bathroom. Front porch with rocking chairs and a hammock which the little ones loved. Deck out back with two large charcoal grills and lots of wicker furniture and a large table for dining. The only disconnect between description and reality was the bedroom count. Expected seven, not including the "dorm", but there were only six. That wasn't a problem for us, but if you're cutting it close, be aware. The park across the street has tennis courts, a small playground, and a baseball field, where an authentic vintage baseball league played several games (old woolen uniforms, baseball gloves out of the 1800's). Very entertaining. There's a creek on the far side of the diamond. The kids could have stayed all day throwing stones into the water. During our stay, we journeyed to Woodstock for an afternoon and also took a ride on the Delaware and Ulster historic railroad, definitely worth the time. Bring as much of your own groceries as you can. The nearest supermarket isn't near at all. The owner was very prompt with answering email inquiries and also graciously took several phone calls from us before our stay. Though he lives in NJ, one call he answered from the house in Fleischmanns, in the middle of some improvement project. If the description of the property and surroundings sounds like it will suit your group, I say go for it. We had a great time. I'd go four and a half stars if I could.
