I would have given the review a 5 but we were very disappointed that the heater in the pool was broken after it being advertised that it was heated. Upon arrival the owner told us the heater just broke but then later told us it has been not working for over a year. This is a big miss considering the time of year and potential weather issues. We picked this specifically for the heated pool and it was not usable because of the temperature of the water. The home was very nice, almost everything we could want or need. More outdoor seating would be great though. The San Destin resort is awesome and would definitely go again but would want to be in a neighborhood with full working amenities as promised.Did you find this review helpful? This home is decorated beautifully, makes a very gracious, comfortable home base for making memories on the beautiful beaches of Destin! If you like board games, you'll be in heaven! The owner even has kid's bikes and lots of beach toys available, so that makes it simpler, especially if you have little ones! The linens are all high quality, she even furnishes beach towels, which saves a lot of space packing, we loved how every bedroom had a private bath, along with a 1/2 bath on the main level. All in all, it was a great vacation -- a very good time was had by all!! We highly recommend the Topsail Reserve State Park, which is close, and has an almost empty beach -- a welcome respite from the summer crush elsewhere!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My wife, myself, and our 2 1/2 year old son had a wonderful time at Fins and Family Bungalo. The house feels like a comfortable home you have been invited into rather than a property setup for rental - nice towels and sheets, well appointed kitchen, nice comfortable beds and furniture, all with a laid back beachy feel. We enjoyed the beach, multiple pools, the Village restaurants and shops, and nearby outlet shopping. We look forward to returning to the bungalo and highly recommend this property!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We just returned from our 6 night stay at the bungalow and are ready to go back. The home is absolutely perfect and especially for families. With 6 children and 3 adults, we had more than enough room to relax and enjoy our time in Destin. The kitchen was stocked better than any home I have rented in the past... from the ice cream and snow cone makers, to the fondue pot and lobster pot. She has not missed a detail for those who love to cook. We had over half of our meals at the bungalow and used the grill almost every day. Perfect location right across from the pool and the easy access on our bikes to The Wharf and shopping center which our children loved. No need for your children to bring boogie boards, sand toys or even beach chairs and beach towels... it is all here! This is the first vacation that our children have not asked to go to the movies, to play putt putt or go to the water park... all they wanted to do was spend time at the beach and the pool, ride bikes and play BOARD GAMES! Our oldest is 17 and the youngest is 7 and every night we played board games together. There wasn't one game that we wanted that she didn't have here. Unbelievable!!! I had to spend some of my time working while I was there and the internet access both on WiFi and the computer /printer she provided made working a breeze. The master bed is heavenly and the other bedrooms had more than enough room for all of our children. I highly recommend the "Beautiful Beach Bungalow"... my husband and I agree that this was the best beach vacation we have had as a family!! We will be back!! Thanks for being such a gracious hostess and making your house feel like a home!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My friends and I had a wonderful time in this beautiful home, but the two-hour check-in process put a damper on our vacation. Each of us has traveled extensively and none of us have had to deal with filling out paperwork, much less a six- page checklist. Also, wireless Internet never worked, which was a huge inconvenience, since two of us needed to get some work done. Overall, it was a nice place to stay and very convenient to restaurants and shopping. We really enjoyed being near the pool and being able to go for walks.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: Jane I am sorry you had a bad experience completing the inspection form and difficulty using the internet. I am not sure why the inspection form took two hours. The forms are created with categories so that someone can simply note where indicated any observable problems. Your very detailed report on inspection at check-in was appreciated and assisted me in making some small repairs that I was unaware of including the places on the couch cushin where the apolstry needed to be stitched tighter. We also had the pull on the Futon reinforced and put a new down pillowtop mattress pad on the pull out queen sofa bed. As for the internet issue, it was working. Unfortunately, the internet modem must be plugged in or it does not work. I tried to assist you on the phone for a long time (perhaps this is what you mean by a two hour check in). I regret there was a complication. The computer cords have been re-labled - at both ends with HUGE writing to say where each end should connect. All cords were connected correctly when I arrived; however the cord going into the internet modem was not connected. There is no way to get internet service without any connection from the COX internet modem to either the wireless router or the computer. The help numbers and account numbers with paid support for both the internet company, the wireless router company and the computer are all under the keyboard and readily available. I have placed several extra ethernet cords next to the computer with lables just in case someone is not computer proficient in the future. The long phone jack for the fax you could not locate was sitting under fax machine and I have now fixed it to the side so it is easily seen. Again I am sorry you had difficulty with the check-in and internet. We have not had this issue occur previously and the current renters are not experiencing any problem with the wireless internet. Best wishes.

I AM 11 YEARS OLD. IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN READ THIS COMMENT. My mother and I own this beach house so I am here a lot. I have a lot of good info about this house and the surrounding areas. Best Resturants: Poppys, Hammer Heads, Marlin Grill, Hartells, Mangos, Jim n Nicks, Another Broken Egg, Tommy Bahamas, and Cantina Laredo. Best Attractions:Swoop charter boats, Bogies water sports, Ripleys, Gulfarium, Gulf World, and Big Kahunnas. The Villiage:In the winter there's ice skating. There's pottery. There is a zip line and a ropes course. You can fish in the lakes or off of the docks. There are 15 tennis courts, 4 golf courses, a marina for water sports, tons of trails, and bike rental. A nice place to go to is Top Sail State Park. Panama city has some fun stuff to do also. For water toys you can go to Alvins Island. Have Fun, T.J. F.Did you find this review helpful? We went parasailing and to Ripleys Believe it or Not. I learned to sail at the Sandestin Marina. We saw dolphins, sharks, turtles, and Jellyfish. I really liked the restaurants including Hartells, Poppys, Marlin Grill, and Mangos. This is the best house ever!!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The weather was wonderful! Some wonderful things we did were swimming, golfing and shopping. We saw and discovered a new ice cream place on 98. Moments that matter were relaxing on the sand and unwinding from a busy schedule. How romantic.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
