Why the Owner Chose Brockway
I travel around the world often, as many of us do these days, but nowhere gives me greater peace and satisfaction than going to the cabin in North Tahoe. Growing up, and driving up from Petaluma, I remember being in the back of our 1966 Ford pickup truck with 3-on-the-wheel, riding with the wheel barrows, shovels, cement bags, tool kits, lumber, gravel, foxhole shovels, saws, etc. many, many times. "All I got for all those years of work was a few quarters to go throw in the arcade at Cal-Neva. . . ." Just kidding. There is nothing like sweat equity.
Our location in Tahoe is really special. It's far enough away from neighbors to make it feel secluded, but close enough to shopping, casinos, restaurants and the most beautiful beach in Tahoe to make it convenient to those wonderful sundries in life. I go there to study when necessary, and will hopefully write a book someday at the cabin. It is a special place, full of great memories and hard, dedicated work along with many fun times had by all family members. Take a jump off the the back of the rock formation at our Buck's Beach, and really feel alive! It's the essence of Tahoe, the fresh mountain air, clear water, hiking, skiing, diving, and sense of outdoor adventure combined with peace, tranquility and appreciation for the treasure that is in our midst that makes it the consummate retreat on this planet.

New Wide Screen LCD HD TV, Blue Ray Disc Player, New top-end stove installed in 2011, New canned dimmable lighting installed in living room 2010. New HD Flat Screen TV in Master Bedroom 2012. Clean, comfortable. cared for--very often. Partners visit property at least 8-times/yr.
One of the top scenic and locals beach in all of Lake Tahoe. 3-5 minute walk (closer than it looks on the map.) Less than a minute drive.
5-minute walk. Lots of specials on different nights of the week for dining, lady luck, and live entertainment. Prime Rib Tuesdays for $9.95 at Biltmore and 2 for 1 deals on Fri/Sat/Sun. They also run breakfast specials. Call the casinos to get their latest! These casinos are North Tahoe-style casinos. Low-key, overall, but offer good entertainment value.
My favorite Safeway. Lots of gourmet items available, and the friendliest service. 5-minute drive
Great skiing and quaint resort shops/restaurants around 15-20 mins away.
12 to 15-min drive to Incline for a lot of gourmet, boutique and local restaurants. Drive down Lakeshore drive to see some spectacular Mountain Homes with beautiful views of the lake.
About 15-17 min drive. A fun, close ski area with reasonable rates, and plenty of terrain for beginner, intermediate, plus there is some advanced. I enjoy skiing here for half-day, because I can be on the slopes (skiing!) within 30-minutes from leaving the cabin. Easy! I go here often. (On "big" all-day skiing, I go to Squaw Valley, but that's because I grew up skiing there. (It's about 25-mins from Cabin.)) I can put in a whole day at Diamond Peak, though, and be very happy and wiped out by 4pm.
20-25 min drive. High Elevation, great snow, --ski area. All kinds of terrain for every skill level. Some days they run specials for lady's, seniors, students, etc. Call.

This is a picture of my other partners (except Mom and Dad: who are really responsible for our good fortune.) Brother Scott, and son Bradley (who is a lot taller now...) are with me at my friend's home / abalone beach off the coast of Fort Bragg (really-- Elk, CA.) My father is a sometimes retired Director of Public Safety (and an amazing handyman), Mom is a retired Bank Account Manager and a never retired Mom, brother is an Electrician in Sonoma County, CA, and I'm a retired U.S. Naval Officer (USNR), and current pilot with American Airlines (767/757 LAX Int'l.)
My brother and I are partners with my Dad and Mom. We built two properties on 3-lots around 30-years ago. The first property was bought out by our very good friends (family to us)/partners/neighbors, and we kept the newer property 1-door down. We were able to build the "newer" property from scratch because we won a Tahoe sewer lottery 28-some years ago. When my Uncle, who was also a partner, fell ill, my brother and I bought his half to help him out, and have been working hard ever since to try to offer a quality product at the best rates in Tahoe. My brother and I also wanted my Mom and Dad to enjoy the fruits of their labor, and finally be able to enjoy their cabin. They, and we, enjoy it immensely, and hope you do too! We put our love into it every time we get the opportunity to visit.

We had the opportunity to rent this beautifull cabin. We stayed with 6 adults and this place gives everything we could wish for, great rooms, great bathrooms, very nice livingroom and kitchenarea, a nice patio to have great barbeque. If we come back to the Lake, for sure we will "try" to rent this clean and beautifull cabin again...!!! The neighbourhood gives all what neccesary, great restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dining, beautifull beach, fantastic nature... wow... I hope people will undertsnad what I am trying to tell, my Englisch is not that perfect.. Thanks again to the great Courier family...!!! Luc, Annie, Alex, Lief, Rita and Benny Belgium

This was the first time I had used vrbo for a vacation rental and now this is the only site I'll use to book a vacation!! This listing couldn't have been more accurate. The Courier Family were so very accomodating and their home was more than had been described. The amenities were amazing!! Stocked kitchen, comfy beds, great pillows. This was a girls weekend to celebrate my 50th and we were all amazed at the comfort and cleanliness, as well as the great location to the beautiful lake and shopping. Thank you for the bottle of Champagne..It started our day out Great with a Mimosa. This was a great, last minute way to celebrate my 50th! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. We will be back. We lived in Tahoe for 10 years, and moved away. We have stayed in numerous hotels, houses and condos. The Courier Cabin is BY FAR the cleanest and most wonderful place we have stayed. We were soooo impressed. Just a walk away from Buck's Beach (one of the most magnificent views around),casinos, hiking and restaurants. The house has EVERYTHING you could need. Wonderful linens, stocked kitchen,grill,washer/dryer and cable tv too! Best of all the owners are great people with the best deals around!It was a worry free trip! We can't wait to make it our yearly vacation! Thanks!
