Housekeeping Service is available if you desire to enjoy your stay without having to worry about clean up at the end: cleaning/ damage deposit is $120/visit. A $30 Checkout fee is all you pay if everything is left per the Checkout Checklist, otherwise, we only charge you for the amount our most reasonable cleaning service charges us. ($30/hr)

You can rest easy, because if you don’t want to do the Sheets, Towels, Dishes, Vacuum, and Garbage, then the property manager will take care of it for you.

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2007

This is a picture of my other partners (except Mom and Dad: who are really responsible for our good fortune.) Brother Scott, and son Bradley are with me at my friends home / abalone beach off the coast of Fort Bragg (really-- Elk, CA.) My father is a sometimes retired Director of Public Safety (and an amazing handyman), Mom is a retired Bank Account Manager and a never retired Mom, brother is a Forman Electrician with Cupertino Electric in S.F. area, and I'm a retired U.S. Navy Officer (USNR), and current pilot with American Airlines (LAX Int'l.)

My brother and I are partners with my Dad and Mom. We built two properties on 3-lots around 30-years ago. The first property was bought out by our very good friends (family to me)/partners/neighbors, and we kept the newer property 1-door down. We were able to build the "newer" property from scratch because we won a Tahoe sewer lottery 20-some years ago. When my Uncle, who was also a partner, fell ill, my brother and I bought his half to help him out, and have been working hard ever since to try to offer a quality product at the best rates in Tahoe. My brother and I also wanted my Mom and Dad to enjoy the fruits of their labor, and finally be able to enjoy their cabin. They, and we, enjoy it immensely, and hope you do too! We put our love into it every time we get the opportunity to visit.

Why the Owner Chose Brockway

I travel around the world often, as many of us do these days, but nowhere gives me greater peace and satisfaction than going to the cabin in North Tahoe. Growing up, and driving up from Petaluma, I remember being in the back of our 1966 Ford pickup truck with 3-on-the-wheel, riding with the wheel barrows, shovels, cement bags, tool kits, lumber, gravel, foxhole shovels, saws, etc. many, many times. "All I got for all those years of work was a few quarters to go throw in the arcade at Cal-Neva. . . ." Just kidding. There is nothing like sweat equity.

Our location in Tahoe is really special. It's far enough away from neighbors to make it feel secluded, but close enough to shopping, casinos, restaurants and the most beautiful beach in Tahoe to make it convenient to those wonderful sundries in life. I go there to study when necessary, and will hopefully write a book someday at the cabin. It is a special place, full of great memories and hard, dedicated work along with many fun times had by all family members. Take a jump off the the back of the rock formation at our Buck's Beach, and really feel alive! It's the essence of Tahoe, the fresh mountain air, clear water, hiking, skiing, diving, and sense of outdoor adventure combined with peace, tranquility and appreciation for the treasure that is in our midst that makes it the consummate retreat on this planet.

    • We lived in Tahoe for 10 years, and moved away. We have stayed in numerous hotels, houses and condos. The Courier Cabin is BY FAR the cleanest and most wonderful place we have stayed. We were soooo impressed. Just a walk away from Buck's Beach (one of the most magnificent views around),casinos, hiking and restaurants. The house has EVERYTHING you could need. Wonderful linens, stocked kitchen,grill,washer/dryer and cable tv too! Best of all the owners are great people with the best deals around!It was a worry free trip! We can't wait to make it our yearly vacation! Thanks!
