The Cabin on Long Mountain sleeps from one to seven people. The front porch has beautiful views of the western mountains.
The cabin features a wood burning fireplace, satellite TV, two full baths, three bedrooms (two of the bedrooms have queeen beds and the third bedroom has bunkbeds and a single pull out sofa), a formal dining room, and eat in kitchen stocked with all needed to cook-- paper products, spices, coffee, tea, cream and sugar also provided. For an additional charge of $10.00 per person, you can have a four course breakfast at our Bed and Breakfast Inn located on our adjacent property.
There is also a picnic area in the back yard with a picnic table and charcoal grill. Also, the finished garage has a ping-pong table.
There are nice walking trails on the property and two ponds with small waterfalls.
The historic Dahlonega Town Square is only six and 1/2 miles away. Several hiking and mountain trails are located off of our road including the Appalachian Trail, waterfall hikes and some of the best mountain biking trails in Georgia.
The community of Dahlonega features a top rated Community Theater with live productions, movies and concerts, several quaint restaurants and music venues, gold museum, gold mines to tour, several mountain wineries close by, antiquing, many quaint shops in century old buildings, a college, hospital, small lake for fishing, canoeing/kayaking/tubing on the Chestatee River, etc.

Owner Description
My husband and I moved to the North Georgia Mountains from Texas almost 16 years ago. Upon moving here, I opened a Rare Book Store on the Dahlonega Town square and operated that for 10 years. Dahlonega was the perfect place for us to settle with it's history, hometown atmosphere and surrounding beauty of the mountains. We both grew up in upstate New York but after college we moved around the country, first army and then job transfers (from Connecticut to Seattle and in between) We have three grown children, who have presented us with 7 beautiful grandchildren. We now own and operate a Bed and Breakfast Lodge which we built as a B & B on our property adjacent to our home and also rent the "Cabin" as a family vacation retreat.
Why the Owner Chose Dahlonega
When our neighbor, an elderly lady decided to move closer to her children and sell her home, we didn't think too long about purchasing it from her. The cabin is located up a little higher on the mountain behind our residence on six private acres. It has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and perhaps someday as we are closer to retirement, we may decide to simplify our lives and move ourselves up to the cabin!
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Although we haven't ourselves spent more than a couple of nights in the cabin, since we live in the area, we have hosted many families and couples in the cabin. The views of the western mountains are amazing from the front porch at the cabin. Some of the features that our guests have enjoyed at the cabin are the wildlife sightings, the cozy fireplace, the mature fig tree, the picnic area and the ping pong table!
