The hot tub is up and running through the winter, but the pool does not open until 15 April 2012 (it is not heated).
Starting April 29th, we are Sunday to Sunday only.

Duck Tape is a fantastic, family-friendly, pet-friendly beach house that truly has it all: one of the largest private pools you'll find anywhere in Duck (and a huge pool deck for easy entertaining), a private hot tub (on it's own deck level, with open, starlight views), a wraparound deck, gorgeous, clean interiors, FREE internet, FREE long distance, and a media center that boasts a 42" flat panel TV with DVD, VCR and surround sound.
The inside of the home has a "cottage" feel to it, comes with a gourmet-equipped kitchen, and is beautifully decorated and clean. With 5 bedrooms, spacious decking areas full of lounging nooks, a host of features and amenities, this home is ideal for an extended family with children of all. Brand new carpeting and painting in the spring of 2009, and a new front deck added in the summer of 2011.
The street that this home is on is a quiet road, less than 1 mile long between the Sound and the beach, and right in the middle of the town of Duck. It's an easy, 5 minute walk to the heartbeat of Duck and the boardwalk shops - where you will find some of the best shopping and dining in Duck!

- Town of Duck has a 10 acre property that was just built in 2007. It contains an amphitheatre, covered picnic area, playground, and 1 mile boardwalk along the sound. This house is within easy walking distance to this great feature. In addition, this property is perfectly situated between the beach, and the town - making it easy to walk everywhere! There are also plenty of pool toys, beach chairs, rafts and boogie boards at your disposal!
Rate Details (In US Dollars)
$750-$3595/week, it depends on the week you choose.
During high season, we only rent full weeks. Off-season, we will rent
in as few as 3 days or more.

My family has been vacationing in the Outer Banks for almost 15 years. It's our second home, our place to unwind and reconnect - with ourselves and with each other. We love this house, and this location. Just a short 1 minute walk to the beach AND a quick 5 minute walk to town.
Why the Owner Chose Duck
I love waking up at 5:30, grabbing a cup of coffee, and meandering down (a 1 minute walk) to the beach and seeing the sun rise. I also love being able to walk (5 minutes) into town and eating or shopping. Really, this house is in the PERFECT location.

Juliana, Your place was everything you said it would be and more. The walk to the beach was actually easier than I thought it would be and we never drove it once. We did drive with the kids to the town b/c we have so many little ones and were concerned with the traffic on the main road but if they were older, that would have been a easy walk too. The weather was absolutely perfect -- only 1 day in the 90s and the remaining days were mid 80s and abundant sunshine. The Sunday-Sunday rental is a huge feature -- I couldn't believe the traffic on Sat including friends of mine that took over 4 hours from Norfolk to where they were staying on Corolla.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We highly recommend Duck Tape - the pool was important to us since we had 2 small children who needed to nap during the day, so it allowed us much-needed adult time poolside. Not only was it large, and spacious - but well equipped with furntiure (including a chaise lounger with umbrella), as well as new pool floats & toys. And the location (which was also very important) was perfect - short walk to the beach and restaurants/shops right in the heart of Duck. Loved it, and certainly want to return again soon!

Our family stayed at Duck Tape in June 2011 and had a WONDERFUL time! The Duck Tape house is very nicely appointed and is stocked with everything one would need to have a great vacation. It is also very close to the beach and local shops, and has a great pool/outdoor area. We can't wait to return to Duck and are looking forward to renting Duck Tape again next year!

I recently (May 2011) rented Duck Tape for a week with some friends. My friends had never been to the OBX before so this was a new experience for them. We had a great time and my friends won’t stop talking about this trip. We had a great time relaxing in the hot tub under the stars with a glass of wine. We loved that the pool water was clean and cool, very refreshing. Watching the sunrise in the morning from the top deck with a cup of coffee was wonderful. Listening to the birds and watching the sunset over the sound from the top deck ahhhh I wish I could go back right now. We found the house to be clean and everything in good working order. The house is just a short walk to the beach or the sound side. Bike paths and jogging paths are very close by. My friends and some family that stopped in for a day or two loved the relaxed atmosphere of Duck and the OBX in general. The private beaches are not crowded and our dog loved playing in the ocean each day. We flew kites on the beach and even went hang gliding. It was a wonderful time. We will be back!

We rented property for a month. The listing description was accurate and photos represented the rentals appearance and amenities very well. Property was clean and well maintained and the owner was always helpful. Our children,grandchildren and some friends visited and were very pleased with location and the property itself. The short walk to the beach was no problem at all, the street was quiet and friendly. We have visited the Outer Banks many times and we felt this property gave us good value and we loved our stay.

My wife and I spent a week at Duck Tape and had a fantastic time. The house has absolutely everything anyone would need (plenty of games and videos for children, as well) and the owner has tons of great tips and recommendations for restaurants, shops and places to go to and things to do. The house was spotless, the furniture and beds extremely comfortable, and it's very tastefully decorated. It has a large and well equipped kitchen, and it's in a very quiet street just a stone throw from the beach. We highly recommend this house and the location.
