Loved our stay in this condo. I agree that the washer/dryer makes a HUGE difference since you would have to pay ($20.00 just for towels) for maid service and this is a place where towels and clothes get dirty frequently. I found the complex the perfect blend of resort/condo. Had all the conveniences of a resort (pool towels, beach towels, gear rental, pool bar, onsite restaurants (Ono!), friendly staff (we had a flat and the grounds staff pitched in to helped us saving a lot of time to wait for AAA), without the glitz of corporate, multinational resort chains. My friend talked me into a timeshshsare presentation at the Marriot next door and it was just too over the top. The condo is set back (get a map of the property as the complex is large) from the beach but still a short walk and very convenient to the pool area (across the street) with lovely bar/restaurant and great food. One downside is that the pool closes at 7pm which seems really early. Major upside is that you can walk to Poipu Beach, Brenneke's, and the Marriot's beach, each with its own character. The beach has some surf, perfect for our 11, and 12 year olds who love to boogie, so if your children are a lot younger they will love the closeness of the pool which boasts a sandplay area, separate adjoining wading pool, waterslide, and 2 waterfalls. Condo also stays amazingly cool without air conditioning--loved those fans. Quiet, lovely place.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

We had a wonderful time, and your condo was lovely! The washer/dryer was a defininte must for my family. After long days of hiking, it was nice to be able to wash in the condo without having to sit and wait at the coin-operated laundry. Also, no dirty clothes to pack home! The only suggestion I would make would be that you put a cooler and beach umbrella in the closet for your guests' use. It would have been nice to take a cooler with us when we were off for a long day of exploring the island. Other than that, I cannot think of a thing---the condo was fabulous and the location was great! Janet

Hello, Sorry it took so long but here it is. “Kiahuna is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii. The amazing plantation grounds are beautiful and the beach is perfect for relaxing, snorkeling or enjoying some waves. This is the perfect location for a relaxing getaway. The condo is centrally located with access to the pool, tennis court and beach as well as shops and restaurants. The furnishing is perfect and comfortable. You will love staying here and will want to come back. Best, Virginie

Todd, if you have more specific questions related to my responses, I am happy to answer them: We loved the new furniture, although a more comfortable mattress would be really great. Your pricing provides a really good value for us. Your location is the very best for us – your location near the pool is perfect for our two small boys. We tend to use the beach less, but go down to the grassy area every night during our stay. The new gas grills are a big improvement from a few years ago. We do use the kitchen quite a bit. A kitchen refresh would be a nice-to-have, but the current kitchen is not a big detractor for us. Tile floors are a great thing. We love the pool – our boys are 2 and 5. Overall, we love the location of Kiahuna and the grounds. It is our most favorite place to vacation, hands down. We’ve stayed in various units including some close to the beach, but find your unit ideally situated. This last trip we discovered a couple of restaurants in Kalaheo which we hadn’t know before. They were great. You allowed us to stay another night, effectively, because we had a late night flight out. We appreciated that! The good news is that it is now a daytime flight back to Seattle now, instead of the red-eye. By the way, I’m trying to figure out a way to get back to Kiahuna either on our school February break or Spring break. Would you please let me know if you have availability and the price for 7 nights, during the week of Feb 11-22, 2010 (7 day stay in there somewhere) or April 1-10 (7 day stay in there somewhere)?
