Many units at Ka’anapali Shores Resort claim to be ocean front. None are as close to the ocean as ground-floor unit 161! The only things separating you from Ka’anapali Beach are floor to ceiling windows and your own private lawn furnished with lounge chairs and outdoor dining table on a covered lanai! Imagine enjoying beautiful unobstructed views of Molokai, Lanai and Hawaiian sunsets all vacation long!
Unit 161 is a 2 bedroom, 2 full bath, air conditioned unit. It comfortably sleeps 6. The master bedroom has an on-suite bathroom, TV and king bed. The second bedroom is furnished with 2 twin beds and the large sectional in the living room pulls out to accommodate 2 more, when not being used for family TV viewing.
The kitchen has new stainless steel appliances and is separated to the living/dining area by an eat-in bar. This non-smoking unit has a washer/dryer and tile throughout with carpeting in both bedrooms. The condo is tastefully decorated in traditional Hawaiian décor.
Ka’anapali Shores Resort really is full service with numerous amenities located on the lush tropically landscaped grounds. With 2 heated pools, 2 hot tubs, restaurants, shopping, year-round children’s program, gym and salon you may never need to leave the resort or rent a car! Many other shops and restaurants including a grocery store are located just across the street. Parking is available for $9/day.

Great location, you couldn’t get closer to the beach...walk to grocery store, snorkel rental, and takeout restaurants. Unlike the previous review we found the unit very clean, free of any mildew or mold and the furniture unstained and in good shape. Prior to rental all emails and questions were answered promptly. We had a small issue with the unit on arrival and it was taken care of quickly, the Management team courteous and extremely helpful. As posted previously the kitchen is remodeled the rest of the unit is slightly dated. If you are looking upscale accommodations with a lot of services, pay twice the nightly rate and stay somewhere else. If you are looking for a comfortable unit for a family of four in a great location, a nice beach and a great value for the price….this is it. We would love to stay here again.

Location was good steps from beach and pool. Condo property in general however is in serious need of remodel. Pool tiles missing, pool deck and chairs dirty and pool itself needs to be cleaned much better and each day. We practiced scuba diving in the pool before going into the ocean and there was trash etc floating at the bottom of the pool... Yuck! Actual unit had a remodeled kitchen however the rest of the unit needed work especially the bathrooms. The overall cleanliness was questionable. Master bath had moldy shower curtain and under the bath mat black slime... eww! Having a second bedroom and bath with laundry was nice, don't believe that off set the cleanliness issues however. Couch in main living area very dirty could use a professional cleaning for sure. Overall location was great near shopping and lots of great restaurants and activities. Picutres in listing showed better than the property in real life. Definately will come back to Maui however won't return to this property. Regardless I think with a little elbow grease and some minor cosmetic fixes this unit can be comfortable for a family on a budget. We'll be looking for something more upscale on our next visit. The Westin Villas looked more in keeping with what we're comfortable with. We may also a single family home on the ocean if we can find something with a pool. Love Kaanapali!!

Our family of 4 stayed here March 12-19, 2011. The unit is spacious and well equipped. The location absolutely can't be beat: it is steps to the pool and basically right on the beach. The view is spectacular, and we were lucky enough to have "whale shows" everyday. As people passed by on the boardwalk in front of the unit, we were constantly told "wow, you've got the best place in the resort", and we couldn't agree more. Stay here, you won't be disappointed. We will defintely be back!

We had a wonderful stay in this unit. The location is probably the best in the complex. It is truely steps from the beach. The ground floor location was great for pool or beach access. Although the complex had a pretty good restaurant, there are plenty of restaurants in the area and reservations are not required. The rental process was easy and owners were always available for questions. I would recommend this to all and am looking forward to returning.

We stayed here in August for a week and absolutely loved it here!!! The pictures do not do this rental justice. It has the biggest and most private balcony in Kaanapali Shores. I did not count but it is probably about 10 steps to the beach. You can also snorkel or scuba right at your own beach front. If you enjoy sunsets again, this is the place to be. Many people walked over each night as I think this is probably the best spot around. We really enjoyed so many beautiful sunsets each night. The unit has everything you need. What can I say "I am so ready to go back.".

We stayed in early January and this was the best location being on the ground floor and had ocean front views. The owners were very friedly and helpful with our booking. We enjoyed very peaceful and quiet evening from the ground floor private lanai where the kids could play, have our own private sunset viewing and whale shows. Lots of spacious room and very clean. You can ask for extra housekeeping for a charge. Parking is very close and shopping is within a walk across the main road. Onsite corner store and amentities. The pool was fun and had pool side restaurant service. Only ate at the Restaurant a couple times but was very good and reasonalbe. Resort was Excellent for families or couples. Beach was lots of fun to sit in the shade or venture out and take surf lessons. This is the place we will stay again. Property is beautifully landscaped and clean and safe and quiet. Friendly service. Thank you.
