Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
My wife and I are California natives who fell in love with Marfa and its warm, artistic community, and spend as much time as we can there, working on and enjoying our house. We both work in the arts (photography and furniture craft), which has lead us to currently reside in Paris, France. We want friendly, creative people to enjoy our home and the many incredible facets of Marfa, Texas.
Why the Owner Chose Marfa
We fell in love with the arts, nature, and true west-Texan culture and history of Marfa and the Big Bend region.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our house is next to stunning natural landscapes, but very close to the center of Marfa. Best of all, it's spacious and comfortable and has a charm that is hard to beat for this area. Many inspired conversations have been had here, as well as books written, songs composed, art made, and much more. It's a wonderful and magical space for those that want to feel like locals but with the upscale amenities and contemporary edge within an authentic adobe Marfa house!

I stayed at the house with my husband and baby. Our bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the living spaces and kitchen. The place is situated within a short walk from a great Mexican breakfast and an Indian/American Southern restaurant for dinner. There's also a desk which is nice if you need to get some work done. Great place!
Owner response:We are happy to have talented and creative people such as yourselves as guests in the West Paris Marfa house. Glad you enjoyed your stay. - Danielle & Adrian

The rental was awesome! Very cute for a romantic stay or with girlfriends for the weekend! We walked from the house to downtown which was a nice stroll. Marfa is definitely a cool place to stay! We will be back in the future!

Our stay was nice and a good value. Though we had an odd start with the timing mix-up of our arranged arrival date, you most definitely made it up to us with that wonderful bottle of Champagne. :)

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you both for letting us stay at your great little Marfa house. My daughter and I really enjoyed it. What a special week with friends- and Rocky and Uday's new restaurant is terrific.

Our stay at West Paris was wonderful! We could hear all kinds of sounds in the mornings and evenings. I loved sitting out in the porch. The colors were beautiful. Oh, and so many stars at night! My dad and I rode the bikes around the house at night, just to fall into the stars. It was so fun. The house was so comfortable, and felt so safe. I loved how there were so many doors to outside too! kind of like secret doors:P We played the guitar in the evening and we would always leave the front door open... It was wonderful at the time, and looking back, it is even more beautiful. Thank you Danielle:)

We had a wonderful time in Marfa and in your West Paris home. The house is very comfy, a beautiful setting, nicely done. We loved the furnishing and the art on the walls. And we loved Marfa as a place. I have already recommended your house to friends, both in the U.S. and Germany, that have plans to visit Marfa some time...We had a good time, and if we come back to Marfa some time, West Paris would be our first choice to stay.

First time to Marfa and it was simply wonderful! The West Paris house is super cute, well lit, cozy and in a great location! Both bedrooms were very comfy and the KING size bed was a dream! My only regret is that it was a little windy to ride bikes, because they provide 2 of them! :( We would definitely stay again, and for the price..for sure! It was an amazing bargain! Thanks!! As the community bulletin board says...'MARFA IS FOR LOVERS' :)

I stayed here for 2 weeks and really enjoyed using the provided bikes to get around and the comfortable beds. The location was great in that it was easy to access everything while still feeling like you are in your own private world with the farm and horses right behind the horse and a view as far as you could see. It was clean, comfortable, and had a warmth about it that made me not want to leave! I fell in love with Marfa and this house and plan to return again this fall in hopes to engage more with the community and tap into the incredible art world there. The owners of the house were a pleasure to work with and were very accommodating. It was clean and had everything I needed.

Our stay at the "West Paris" house was amazing. The well-equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare some great meals from the local organic grocery, the living room was cozy, and perfect for lounging around. The bathtub was a great place to relax and the location of the house was just a nice walk from downtown Marfa. Staying here will now be an annual tradition!
