The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
Interesting places abound nearby Dreamy and evasive Cafe Alou on 83rd between Columbus and Broadway is where Tom Hanks dated Meg Ryan in You Got Mail. The pastry is as luscious and decadent as the French decoration. A must visit. Then around the corner you have the best Hazelnut coffee in town. The place is called Drip and do pay attention to the stationary computers and myriad of folders. It is one of the most ingenious dating concepts in a coffee shop. Then later at night you have Lava Lounge that has an exceptional red lounge room with huge pillows and a basement lava room. It changed names recently but ask around on 83-84th Street on Columbus and you will be directed in the right direction. In addition, just walking down Columbus you must take advantage of the exquisite Snapper presented at Calle Ocho between 82nd and 83rd Street on Columbus. It was spectacular and is a must treat. The oyster lovers will be pleasantly served on Columbus between 78th-79th Street at Ocean Grill with your own private fire place, find it and for a final enjoyment of privacy, find Cafe Artistes at 1 w. 67th. Of course, you must visit Tavern on the Green which is located a stone throw away in Central Park off Central Park West and 70th Street. Lincoln Center and the Shakespeare in the Park have free performances all summer long, every summer. Lincoln Center has live music bands outdoors on Lincoln Plaza for free for 4-6 hours each Saturday night during the summer' All from Salsa, Jazz, and Classical to anything that makes you move.

The best feature of this apartment is location, location, location! Transportation to East Side, West Side by subway or bus is excellent. Nearby attractions & activities are convenient -restaurants: Sarabeth's, Good Enough to Eat, Monaco, Nick's Burger/Pizza Joint, Shake Shack, Zabar's, Trader Joe's,Fairway,Central Park, Museum Row and more(not enough days to try other eats)! The neighborhood is safe and friendly. The property is as listed, clean & well-maintained; owner Tony is responsive and helpful. We (4 'youthful' ladies from California would definitely recommend & stay here again. My only suggestion is updated linens and towels. Thank you Tony for a fun-filled 9 days!

There were only three of us so we had a room each, plenty of space and privacy although the walls are not soundproof both in the apartment and the apartment floors above. Apartment clean but some attention needs to be paid to maintenance which could be easily remedied. The apartment is nicely situated with convenience to grocery stores, subway, and restaurants. We enjoyed the apartment and description is fairly accurate. The owner was helpful and courteous. We would recommend this to others.

Located one block from subway/bus lines. Walking distance to Central Park, museums, restaurants, and Zabar's grocer. Accommodated 6 adults comfortably. Modestly appointed apartment. Quiet except for heavy foot traffic from the neighbors directly above. Disappointed in the owners attention to detail and addressing minor repairs. For example, the front-door handle was loose and broken, missing batteries in the smoke detector, paper towels were not provided.
Owner response:The front door handle was repaired, batteries were replaced in the smoke detector We provide cloth towels and linens, not paper towels.

This is a great place to stay!. Very convenient to the subway (red, blue and orange lines) about 1.5 blocks in each direction. The owner was very helpful with some directions. We would have been late for our tour of the Statue of Liberty, except Tony warned us to leave earlier. The apartment is very nice and clean and well-stocked. The neighborhood is nice and we felt safe at night. Lots of good local restaurants nearby and a grocery store. We had a group of 7 and had plenty of room. I would definitely stay here again!

This apartment was used by 5 people from 0ctober 2010 for over a week it was very well equipped, and maintained to a high standard, We had good customer service and I would recommend it ,The owner was helpful and allowed us to stay in the apartment later as we had a night flight, however it must be said that the apartment does not have any natural light.Which was not mentioned in the literature and would have made a difference to the booking . It was safe and secure and central to all local amenities.
Owner response:Thank you for the 4 star rating, there is natural lighting in the living room and kitchen and all the bedrooms especially the third bedroom which overlooks the backyard

We had a wonderful time in New York and the apartment's size and location was perfect for us. We could not have had a better. It was clean, spacious and surprisingly quiet. The entire experience of renting through Tony and VRBO was extremely straightforward and easy. We would rent this place again in a heartbeat when we come back to New York.

Our family reunion trip (6 adults) stayed in the apartment for a week in early September, 2010. From our initial contact with Tony, through the arrival, until we departed, the "rental" process went very smooth. As far as the apartment itself - it exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal. Walk to the Natural History Museum, Lincoln Center, Central Park, it's all around the neighborhood. Quick access to two subway lines and we felt like "native" New Yorkers as part of the upper West Side neighborhood. With all the restaurants in the neighborhood we never even ended up cooking a full meal at the apartment, although the kitchen was well stocked. One of the best was a Thai place over on Amsterdam. We were impressed with the clean apartment and I would recommend this place to anyone. Sure, the "closet" bathroom is tight, but was sure workable for our group. Having a private bedroom for each couple worked well. Only one minor annoyance, the wireless is a non-secure connection, and in during the evenings the internet speed would get very slow, sometimes even bumping the connection off-line - I am guessing other residents from nearby apartments are "sharing" this unsecured internet connection. I would strongly recommend that Tony simply make this connection secure, note the password in the on-site instruction guide, and call it a day!
Owner response:Thank you for the excellent rating of 5 stars. As per your comments we have installed a private wireless internet connection

We loved staying in this apartment. It was in a great location, very near to Central Park, the Museum of Natural History, the subway and lots of good restaurants. It was very clean and well-maintained with a beautiful kitchen and dining room table. There are 3 nice-sized bedrooms and two bathrooms (although one is very small). We were able to find FREE parking outside on the street and the neighborhood was very safe. The apartment was very quiet at night and we were able to sleep well. I would definitely recommend the apartment to others and we would love to rent it again.

My family (of seven) was so pleased with the apartment! Location was great - two blocks to Zabar's, two blocks to subway or bus, two blocks to Central Park, etc. The apartment was clean, comfortable, convenient and well-equipped. Our four full days in NYC were full of museums, shopping, Ellis Island trip, etc. and it was always great to return to comfortable beds, and bagels for breakfast the next morning. Three generations existed in this lovely apartment and had a great time together. Thanks Tony and Elaine for providing such a great reasonably priced place for our visit.
