Formerly called Hale Aku, this 3 bed/3 bath home is conveniently located steps away from the heart of Hanalei. Annie's Birds Nest includes a 2bed/2bath unit upstairs, with a second master studio suite downstairs with a private entry and second complete kitchen. The separation of the two units makes this home a perfect vacation spot for families with tweens, teens, grandparents, in-laws or friends who want extra privacy. The home is located only half a block from the beach or Ching Young Village with shops and activities to keep everyone easily entertained. Adults will enjoy the close proximity of live music, hula and dancing at the lively bars and restaurants nearby.
Some guests return without a rental car, to “go local” and use the island cruiser bikes provided by the owner to get around to farmer’s markets, coffee bars, fresh fish and sushi bars. There are yoga studios, health food and grocery stores in the shopping area. The most beautiful beach in the world, Hanalei Bay, with its seasonal surfing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and snorkeling. lifeguard, pavilion and conveniences is just minutes away.
The addition of 2 more outdoor rooms on the beautifully built, comfortable and spacious new covered lanai make you feel like you truly are living in a birds nest. You can spend the whole day on the lounge side enjoying the breath taking views of waterfalls and sunsets, then dine outdoors at the custom dining table. The owner has even grown the hedge, palms and bananas trees around the perimeter of the property to ensure privacy. The spacious and tranquil custom built outdoor shower of bamboo and rock makes you feel like you are taking a shower in a garden, there is nothing quite like it for feeling refreshed and renewed.
Enjoy this private retreat of a California glass artist, tastefully decorated from her private art collection. Located within 15 minutes from the home is Ke'e Beach, Wet and Dry Caves and Na Pali trail head. It's only 10 minutes to Princeville golf, spa, shopping and amenities.
The upstairs master bedroom has a queen size bed and private bathroom. The second upstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds. The first floor offers another master studio suite with a king bed and a full kitchen. Outdoors
Music players are in each bedroom. TV, CD and DVD player in living room with iPod adapter. There's wireless high speed internet service throughout. Washer and dryer are in the garage. The upstairs kitchen is outfitted for easy entertaining and cooking, with a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and grinder.

We couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay and take the whole family. Mom, dad and 2 kids stayed up stairs in the beautiful Hawaiian setting with a view of the mountains and all the amenities of home. Grandma and Grandpa were down stairs with privacy and little noise but access to family gatherings and being a part of it when they wished. The location is ideal, within walking distance of town and walking distance of Hanalei Bay. We were fortunate in having excellent weather with little rain and a beautiful tropical breeze. The family was able to enjoy the upstairs porch, the dining area and livingroom together but we were also able to get a little quiet time too. The house is lovely, decorated with Hawaiian style and cute art work. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect house, location or better conditions. I would recommend this house and a vacation to Hanalei to anyone wishing for a perfect setting and everything available. It was very well furnished and very clean. I would love to return and rent this house again in the future.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

The location just a few blocks from Hanalei town & Hanalei Bay was perfect for walking everywhere we wanted to go. day or night. The view from the lanai of the mountains, falls & tree line was awesome at dawn, at sunset. or anytime we wanted to relax.. Banana trees surround the Birds nest and a huge hedge buffers from the street. The interior was very comfortable with island style furnishings. It was great to be able to wash towels & suits in the garage. The kitchen was well equipped and we could eat inside or in the outdoor dining area. Comforable, convenient and beautiful!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+.

Annie's Birds Nest is an amazing property to call home while in Kauai, the location and views cannot be beat. This home has a stunning Lanai that offers a sweeping view of the mountains and waterfalls which is a perfect way to start your day in paradise. After that, you can explore Hanalei town by foot or by bikes (thoughtfully provided by the owner). Hanalei Bay is also within walking distance, providing a great place to swim and frolic in the water with the Boogie boards provided, or just sit on the beach in a beach chair (also provided). Great snorkeling can be found at Tunnels just a short drive away, and again snorkeling equipment is also provided. The kitchen is well appointed, and we were able to make all of our meals with the provided equipment. The house also has a nice private yard with fruit trees, I made it a nightly ritual to pick some star fruit for the next morning's breakfast. Another advantage to the home is the laundry facilities and provided beach towels, great for packing light and avoiding those checked bag fees. Overall, Annie's Birds Nest offers so many amenities that I would definitely recommend it to others for a peaceful, stress-free vacation!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

You'll know the minute you arrive that Annie's Bird's Nest is the home of an artist. Fun, vibrantly colored artwork and tropical fabrics and furnishings welcome you to the open, sun-filled living and dining area. The well-equiped kitchen has everything you need for home cooking, and then you get to serve it on gorgeous hand-made art glass! Great location, close to town and the beach - bikes and beach toys provided. You could easily spend your stay without having to drive once you arrive in Hanalei. The covered outdoor lanai is large and perfect for evening cocktails and al fresco dining. If you want to live like a native and be surrounded by an artistic vibe, I highly recommend Annie's Bird's Nest.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

We miss having breakfasts and dinners on the lovely lanai at the Bird's Nest. This is such a great place to stay. The decor is beautifully appointed in island style. We enjoyed walking to the beach and to the sweet little town of Hanalei. The outdoor shower came in very handy. I cannot be more enthusiastic in my review! This place is wonderful. My husband and I had the most amazing vacation here... The house is walking distance to the beach and grocery store, the furnishings are spectacular, and the lanai is so relaxing (and on top of that it has a stunning view of Mount Waialeali and its many waterfalls). The Birds Nest was a charming and romantic experience for my wife and I last August. The top deck has breath taking views of the mountains and the beach is literally a three minute walk from the front door step. The house is fully furnished with everything a family would need for a vacation get away, even the dishes we ate off of were exquisite!!Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.
