When we walked into this cabin we fell in love with the all-wood interior. It had the feel of a true vacation cabin where we could leave it all behind. We hope you feel it too.
This charming cabin has 4 full bedrooms; two of them downstairs, and two spacious bedrooms upstairs. There is pleny of closet space in each room, and in the downstairs hallway.
There are beds for eight, along with two roll-aways, and a sofa sleeper; so effectively 12 people can comfortably sleep in this cabin.
Forced-air heating thoughout, with vents in all rooms, keeps everybody warm in the winter.
An open room with a 42' plasma TV, a dining area, and a kitchen, all come together to keep your group connected. Wood burning fireplace insert provides all of the atmosphere you want with plenty of wood provided.
Also, a 1905 Chickering & Sons piano beckons piano-players to lead the group in sing-alongs...'Those Were the Days'.
The backyard is all fenced so little ones can be comfortably left outside.
There is also a new addition of a full-size arcade bowling game for everone in the family to play. Take no quarters as it's set for FREE PLAY.
Beautiful Lake Tahoe is just a little over a mile behind you with all it has to offer. Stateline's Casinos are about 6 miles away with their night-life and fine dining.
Heavenly Valley gondolas are closer yet.
All of the rest of Tahoe and its surroundings are at your feet.
Use this cabin as group / family-value vacation, or as a private weekend get-away just for two of you.
We want to offer a tremendous value for all and hope you enjoy your stay.
We also want to develop a core group of vacationers who will want to come back year after year and enjoy all the area has to offer.
Keywords: Comfortable Family Cabin, all wood interior, mile walk to Pope Beach Lake Tahoe, close to grocery; bike and walking trails,12 min. to Stateline Casinos.

We reached the family cabin on a stormy (snow) night amidst bad driving conditions. But the moment, we saw the cabin, it was exact replica of what we saw in the pictures. We called up the owner upon arrival and he was warm enough in welcoming us even at late hours. We went inside the home and everything was arranged great and it was extremely clean. We enjoyed every bit of our stay in the cabin and we will surely find another opportunity to return and stay back in the same place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My 87 year old mother lived at Fallen Leaf Lake in the 1930's, and we took her back to the area for a trip down memory lane. The cabin was perfect for our three generations! Everybody was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, the back deck is perfect for relaxing, and it is convenient to everything!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks, Hope you were able to find the area where your mother lived while you were up. SC

The location would be more accurately described as South Lake Tahoe, but that's great as stores and rentals are very close and even walkable if necessary. The property is well maintained and beautifully decorated, eliciting oohs and aahs from all members of our group as they arrived! We went skiing and snowshoeing. What's good to know but should have been obvious: good trailhead parking is rare in winter. The owner was very friendly and responded to all of my many e-mail questions.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Our location is explained well, we are located between Y and Camp Richardson. We are an easy bike ride or drive to Camp Richards, and not too far from shopping at the Y. Thank you for your review. We try to keep the cabin well stocked and comfortable. Sharon

Cozy little cabin - very good for sleeping a number of people/families for a day or two at the slopes. Location was close to Stateline and Heavenly. Only wish the kitchen and common areas were bigger. Good for 6-8 people, however over 8 would be a tight fit. Overall, very good value for the location!Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

Our party of 7 had a great winter stay at this cabin. We were 19 minutes from boarding @ sierra @ Tahoe and 10 minutes from hitting the poker room. The wi-fi was excellent and it helped having netflix streaming for the kids. The kitchen provided everything we needed to cook some family dinners and there are sleds provided by the owner. Bang for your buck you cant beat this cabin.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks, We try to make our cabin feel like you are at home. SC

Location is good for families or a group of friends. We had 12 people and fit comfortably. The closet is stocked with games and puzzles and we enjoyed both. There are 2 tv's, one downstairs and one upstairs in a bedroom. About 10 minutes to the casinos and downtown area. Close to swimming, fishing, bike riding, kayaking and hiking. Roomy enough. Upstairs room are especially roomy. Property was clean and comfortable. The property provided several pamphlets of local attractions. Linens provided are clean and in newer condition. Kitchen equipment in good working order. Grocery store and Kmart are conveniently located. Short drive to Reno and Carson City. The neighborhood felt safe, many walkers and joggers. I would stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Mona, We have been working hard over the last six months to get the cabin ready for our guests. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in our cabin. Sharon

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: We are just a couple who managed to find this cabin and we plan on using it regularly along with our family of grown kids. The goal of renting it some of the time is simply to offset the costs associated with utilities and maintenance over the course of a year.
Why the Owner Chose Camp Richardson:
We love the area and this is an ideal location in a great neighborhood. There is a heatlhy mix of vacation homes and live-in locals who are great resources for non-touristy ideas and local places to discover.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
While staying here you can enjoy the simple joys of being away from it alll while being close-enough to grab a local coffee, or a Starbucks at the 'Y', where you also can re-load on groceries at Raley's or buy a raft at K Mart. You can get that movie you've been wanting to watch, or catch-up on your writing at the built-in desk in the Master Bedroom.
