i wont ever need to stay anywhere else in ann arbor. my daughter and i have stayed here twice and this little house is just perfect. Located in a beautiful neighborhood a short distance away from the center of town, the Tollhouse provides us with all the amenities; lots of extra paper products, towels, linens, blankets, pillows, a well stocked kitchen. i baked cupcakes for my daughter on her 19th birthday. we are now sentimentally attached.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Anyone coming to Ann Arbor or the area needs to check this place out. The home has everthing you will need, every detail has been thought out. Came to town and used this place because of its central location. Owner went above and beyond to help us out as we were traveling overnight with a yound child. If you are U of M fan or a fan of a rival Big Ten School you have to rent this place for your Saturday game. The garage is great, the heated area was a big hit for our sons birthday parth. Everyone who visted was so impressed, do not be afraid to rent this place you will not be disappointed.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My family stayed three weeks at this home, and we wanted to stay longer. We instantly felt right at home, with all the amenities (including a high chair!) We couldn't have asked for a better location for taking in the Ann Arbor culture. Sarah was always available to us it seemed, and answered any questions we had very quickly. We would definitely reccommend this home to anyone looking for a warm, comfortable place to stay in Ann Arbor.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We were a large group visiting Ann Arbor for the weekend and had an absolutely fantastic stay. The pictures don't lie, the location is incredible - literally 30 seconds walk to enter the Big House! It was our first time attending a game at the Big House and it was better than we could have imagined. Sarah was an incredible host. Her house is in fantastic shape and comfortable sleeps a larger group with futons and/or a sleeping bag or two. The backyard and front yard space are tremendous for tailgating atmosphere and the three parking spots you get on game-day would cost $120, easily. 5 stars without hesitation! Thanks for everything Sarah.Owner response: Thanks Justin, I'm glad your first experience at the Big House was such a roaring success. Thank you for taking the time to review the Tollhouse! Sarah

Description says it all. Picture says it all. In the shadow of the scoreboard of The Big House. Great tailgate spot. Also, a lot easier walk to downtown than we expected. 10 - 20 minute walk to anything we wanted on Campus or just downtown. Cannot think of anything I would change. Sarah (owner) was extremely helpful with information both leading up to our stay and while we were there. Always answers e-mails quickly. Had lots of suggestions for us. Have used VRBO for many properties and in many cities, this was as good as any experience we've had, in fact better. Cannot stress enough how great the location to the stadium and the tailgate experience because of this is...this makes this house unbelieveable for game days. As stated, locations works well for entire Campus as well...Would be the first place I consider next time I come to A2 Thanks again Sarah...you're a great host!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Well, gosh Bill, that sure was a wonderful review! Thank you so much. I'm so glad you stayed with us, and sure do hope we see you again in the future. Sarah

This is the best place to stay in Ann Arbor. Very cute well taken care of place. Sarah was wonderful to work with and even had wine and beer in the refrigerator when we arrived. If we ever have to be in Ann Arbor again this is where we want to stay. It''s for everyone and it's close to downtown with lots of places to eat. You can have Domino's Pizza and they get it there in 20 min.. If your going to a University of Michigan game you couldn't ask for a better place it's right across the street. Thanks Sarah for having a place to relax in after our training classes. T.H.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thanks Theresa, we loved having you.

Came to Ann Arbor to settle my son in his apartment as he starts Graduate School at Michigan. Great place in a great location.Across the streets from the biggest stadium I've even seen, Downtown 5 minutes away with seemingly unlimited dinning options. Lots of room, the place was clean and comfortable and everything I needed was there. Nice back yard for relaxing and easy parking on site.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Now that your son is at U of M maybe we will be seeing you on a regular basis, I sure hope so. Thanks for the lovely review. Sarah

It is a cute little house, great for a family. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. The house was clean and well kept. We were traveling with an active toddler so it was very helpful that there was a park a block away from the house. I plan to use this house again next time we travel to Ann Arbor.Owner response: I'm so glad you enjoyed our little house and found the nearby park. Thank you for taking the time to review the property. Sarah

About the owner: Sarah is a life long Ann Arbor resident and well know entrepreneur. Integrity and outstanding customer service are her core values. When you let from Sarah you'll know you will be in good hands from your first correspondence to your final departure, she will be there every step of the way to assist you anyway she can.
Why the Owner Chose Ann Arbor:
When relocating her business Sarah looked at many locations. She was immediately taken with the historic crooked old Plank Road Toll House. Loving the history... This 150 year old house was the toll house on the once private 'plank road' that is now Main St. Horsemen paid a one penny toll and carriages two pennies to use the road.
Seeing an opportunity to expand her businesses, she knew right then as soon as she stepped inside, that this would make a wonderful addition to the rental options available to guests visiting Ann Arbor.
Determined to make her mark, Sarah outfitted the crooked old house with the finest appointments. Hey we might be crooked, but we can still be posh!
The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
Wow, literally the best seats in the Big House! Even if you don't go to the game, listen as the crowed roars and the band plays.
What a great way to be more then a tourist, see the city from a 'townie' perspective. Everyone knows Zingerman's, but do you know about Knights Steak House? Or paddle boating at Gallup park???
