Beautiful oceanfront home located on Isle of Palms. Features: private pool, newly renovated kitchen with all new appliances, including double ovens and two refrigerators & under the counter icemaker. This home also has hardwood floors, flat screen TVs in Living room, den, and kitchen, DVD player's, Internet access, two decks, private shower room and bathroom under house, Jacuzzi tub in master bathroom, two car garage, gas grill and private boardwalk to the beach. Linens included. No smoking. No pets. **Please note that large gatherings/parties/events may NOT be held at this home due to surrounding noise ordinances. ---LAYOUT--- Bedroom 1: Downstairs; 2 Twins; Shares full bath with Bedroom 2. Bedroom 2: Downstairs; Queen w/slider to covered patio and pool; TV w/DVD (ocean front) Bedroom 3: Upstairs; Queen (ocean front) Bedroom 4: Upstairs; Queen (street side). We had stayed at this house the last 2 years with good results. This year was a disaster. We arrived on Saturday. On Monday we went out to swim in the pool and there was a live rat in the skimmer. On Tuesday there was another live rat sitting on a kick board in the pool. On Wednesday I was sitting by the pool and a rat scurried under the chair I was sitting in. There were cockroaches all over the kitchen. The rodent person came out and said there was no problem. Needless to say our four grandchildren refused to go in the pool so it was a wasted expense. If you don't mind rats and cockroaches I would steer clear of this place.Owner response: We truly regret you had these pest issues out by the pool. We never want you or any guests to deal with pests like this. We sent pest control out immediately to remove the rats as well as the pool company to treat the pool. After speaking with pest control again, he suspects a nearby neighbor has put out poison, which when eaten by the rats, causes them to seek water. This is just not a normal event at all. We have not had this issue with this home in the past and normally the pool is enjoyed by all. See statement by pest control below below. "I was called out to 614 Ocean due to a complaint of 2 rats that in the pool, so of course fearing there was a rodent issue at the property, Island Realty wanted to make sure it was taken care of ASAP. I spoke with the guests who said they had no problems in the house but rather just at the pool. Nevertheless, we did a full inspection of the property to determine if there was a rodent infestation. There was not, the house is sealed up very well and there were no places that rats could be staying. The area outside the fenced in sections are grown up with bushes, as is behind almost every house on the beach. These natural areas that guests find so appealing are also home to many types of wildlife and it is not uncommon that we will eventually come in contact with one another. Some things are just not preventable but we try to respond as quickly as possible to resolve any issues of the sorts.
