New log cabin rental near Boone on the New River with VIEW and large one acre tract! Outdoor firepit, hot tub, gameroom, bikes, tubes and much more!

We are very proud to offer one of our newest cabins with over 100 feet of river frontage on the New River on Railroad Grade Road in Todd, NC. The Railroad Grade Road follows the New River for over 10 miles. It is the 2nd oldest river in the world and has some incredible rock formations, aquatic life, and an aura that almost evokes the primordial peacefulness of the river’s beginnings. To ride a tube or paddle a kayak down its meandering, slow but sure, course is certain to suggest some sense of a simpler time, childhood magic, and a “what life is all about” sigh of relief.

This beautiful new log cabin on over an acre of flat land also has a mountain view which, to have both the river and a view, is an exceptional event! This three bedroom home offers comfort and quality in the whole house. With hardwood floors throughout, lots of windows for view, gas fireplace, and a spacious kitchen and living room for relaxing, playing, or cooking, it is a great family home and there is even a Wii in the living room for your added fun. The great room is large with cathedral ceilings and lots of wood, a stone fireplace that is 20 ft tall, granite countertops and pine cabinets and everything you need to cook a gourmet dinner except for food. Grill out and dine on the covered deck while gazing at the river and surrounding hills.

The master bedroom has its own large bath and its own private porch so you can stroll out with your morning coffee and watch the mist rise from the fields or the deer playing in the nearby hills. The King bed in the master has a pillow top luxury mattress for a great night’s sleep. Sleep with the windows open in this peaceful and quiet area where the morning birds are the only noise. The cool summer nights, averaging in the 60 degree range, make for some great snuggling under the lovely mountain quilts. The other two bedrooms with queen beds are equally as comfortable and soothing with lots of windows for those cool mountain breezes.

The loft has an additional sleeper sofa and an air hockey table for your entertainment. The upstairs loft opens out onto another covered porch with a small breakfast table for morning solitude or meditation. The view from this porch is wonderful!

For winter, the living room has a warm gas fire that adds to the ambiance. The leather furniture with mountain touches will make you feel so luxurious and at home. For winter or summer the hot tub is a plus for everyone.
The basement has a pool table and seating area with DVD or VCR.

Down by the river, there is a stone fire pit with a covey of Adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy the warm fire and incredible night sky. With little light pollution, the Milky Way is fantastic! Roast marshmallows or make your S’mores and the knee deep river is also great to wade in and definitely safe for children. The house provides inner tubes for floating down the meandering river or just ¼ mile down the road they rent kayaks and more tubes. They will even come and pick you up and take you home.

This house has several bikes for your family fun. The Railroad Grade Road is a historic track of the old Virginia Creeker Railroad that started in 1917. It is now a popular place to ride or walk along the road that follows the banks of the river where cyclist, even the novice rider, can ride for miles and miles with incredible scenery and peace on a flat ten-mile trek. Take a picnic or stop at the historic Todd General Store and have a lovely lunch and stroll through the old railroad town with its tin sided buildings.

This house is only 11 miles to Boone with all its tourist attractions and fun things to do. It is very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, about 20 minutes to Appalachian Ski Mt or Blowing Rock. However, there is so much to enjoy and do at this house; you may not want to even leave. Come and have a great time!

This home is dedicated to the memory of the owner’s Godson- Andy.

Cruzin River Dreams has paved access all the way to the cabin.

For larger groups, consider renting this cabin with Andrew's River Haven right next door, or New River Ramble just 3 doors down.

Please remember 4WD or chains are always recommended when visiting the mountains in winter.

Why the Owner Chose Boone

We had been looking for a cabin in the mountains on a lake or river for some time. As soon as I stepped on the grounds of Cruzin River Dreams I knew the search was over. The mixture of mountains, flowing water, and the beauty of the cabin itself won me over. It's a 12 hour drive from home, but thats just decompression time.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

I spend most of my free time riding bicycles. After my first ride in the high country riding anywhere in the world is a step down. The effort to climb, the exhilaration of the down hill and the beauty of fall in the mountains is the begining of a perfect day, a glass of wine, the hot tub, a great meal, and dessert by the fire pit with the sound of the river and the stars up above. Need I say more.

My wife and I live in Florida on the Gulf of mexico. I am a personal trainer in 2 gyms and my wife is an RN.

Great Vacation!

This was our first time staying at Cruizin' River Dreams, and staying the the Boone area. The cabin was exactly as the pictures show. The cabin is located about 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was perfect for us. We brought our Gold Wing and spent most days riding in the mountains. It was especially nice to have a paved driveway and room to park the trailer and the motorcycle. We enjoyed the fire pit most evenings. And the hot tub was very enjoyable after a day of hiking and riding. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

We had the best week at this cabin. It was very clean and organized. Had all the paper products needed even had coffee and sugar. Made great use of the washer and dryer. Had great family time at the fire pit, floating down the river in tubes or renting kayaks from the River Girl in Todd. Meeting Petunia at the River Girl is a must. Enjoyed sitting on deck rocking in the chairs watching the cows go up and down the mountain. Kids and adults had fun witht he Wii. Having the wi-fi was a plus. Great for all ages, we had kids, parents and grandparents. The dogs had a good time. Very highly recommended!

We enjoyed this cabin soo much!!! The pictures do not do it justice. The decor is updated and not too rustic/country. It snowed heavily while we were in route and the rental company was very helpful in providing updates on weather and road conditions. We arrived as the tractor finished clearing the drive and the cabin was beautiful! It is warm and inviting with a FULLY stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the yard, air hockey, Wii, hot tub with snow falling and loved the river-we would like to come back this summer and trying tubing. The pool table was fun, there were even sledding discs provided! The outside view was beautiful, we could hear the river when we were outside-so peaceful and relaxing. We have three young boys (3, 7, 9) and were concerned they would be bored and we couldn't have been more pleased with how much we all enjoyed our time here. We agreed it was the best family vacation we had taken and we will be back-thank you!!!

I was so happy to be in a place this beautiful, in a cabin so wonderful. We biked up and down hills all day and relaxed with a fire, a cocktail, and good friends at night. I would recommend this cabin for any one who needs an escape from reality. The cabin was clean, the beds very comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. The river was an added bonus. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Our family rented “Cruisin’ River Dreams” July 5-12. We all had a fabulous time and I wanted to let you know that the cabin was beyond our expectations. I have never stayed in a rental unit that was so well equipped, right down to numerous spice choices! We especially enjoyed having bikes and tubes available instead of having to go through the hassle and expense of having to rent these items. The furnishings were very comfortable and everything was very clean.
