Brand-new log cabin rental near Boone on the New River with VIEW and large one acre tract! Outdoor firepit, hot tub, gameroom, bikes, tubes and much more!
We are very proud to offer our newest cabin with over 100 feet of river frontage on the New River on Railroad Grade Road in Todd, NC. The Railroad Grade Road follows the New River for over 10 miles. It is the 2nd oldest river in the world and has some incredible rock formations, aquatic life, and an aura that almost evokes the primordial peacefulness of the river’s beginnings. To ride a tube or paddle a kayak down its meandering, slow but sure, course is certain to suggest some sense of a simpler time, childhood magic, and a “what life is all about” sigh of relief.
This beautiful new log cabin on over an acre of flat land also has a mountain view which, to have both the river and a view, is an exceptional event! This three bedroom home offers comfort and quality in the whole house. With hardwood floors throughout, lots of windows for view, gas fireplace, and a spacious kitchen and living room for relaxing, playing, or cooking, it is a great family home and there is even a Wii in the living room for your added fun. The great room is large with cathedral ceilings and lots of wood, a stone fireplace that is 20 ft tall, granite countertops and pine cabinets and everything you need to cook a gourmet dinner except for food. Grill out and dine on the covered deck while gazing at the river and surrounding hills.
The master bedroom has its own large bath and its own private porch so you can stroll out with your morning coffee and watch the mist rise from the fields or the deer playing in the nearby hills. The King bed in the master has a pillow top luxury mattress for a great night’s sleep. Sleep with the windows open in this peaceful and quiet area where the morning birds are the only noise. The cool summer nights, averaging in the 60 degree range, make for some great snuggling under the lovely mountain quilts. The other two bedrooms with queen beds are equally as comfortable and soothing with lots of windows for those cool mountain breezes.
The loft has an additional sleeper sofa and an air hockey table for your entertainment. The upstairs loft opens out onto another covered porch with a small breakfast table for morning solitude or meditation. The view from this porch is wonderful!
For winter, the living room has a warm gas fire that adds to the ambiance. The leather furniture with mountain touches will make you feel so luxurious and at home. For winter or summer the hot tub is a plus for everyone.
The basement has a pool table and seating area with DVD or VCR.
Down by the river, there is a stone fire pit with a covey of Adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy the warm fire and incredible night sky. With little light pollution, the Milky Way is fantastic! Roast marshmallows or make your S’mores and the knee deep river is also great to wade in and definitely safe for children. The house provides inner tubes for floating down the meandering river or just ¼ mile down the road they rent kayaks and more tubes. They will even come and pick you up and take you home.
This house has several bikes for your family fun. The Railroad Grade Road is a historic track of the old Virginia Creeker Railroad that started in 1917. It is now a popular place to ride or walk along the road that follows the banks of the river where cyclist, even the novice rider, can ride for miles and miles with incredible scenery and peace on a flat ten-mile trek. Take a picnic or stop at the historic Todd General Store and have a lovely lunch and stroll through the old railroad town with its tin sided buildings.
This house is only 11 miles to Boone with all its tourist attractions and fun things to do. It is very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, about 20 minutes to Appalachian Ski Mt or Blowing Rock. However, there is so much to enjoy and do at this house; you may not want to even leave. Come and have a great time!
This home is dedicated to the memory of the owner’s Godson- Andy.
Cruzin River Dreams has paved access all the way to the cabin.
For larger groups, consider renting this cabin with Andrew's River Haven right next door, or nearby River Mountain Cabin less than one mile away.
Please remember 4WD or chains are always recommended when visiting the mountains in winter.

Why the Owner Chose Boone
We had been looking for a cabin in the mountains on a lake or river for some time. As soon as I stepped on the grounds of Cruzin River Dreams I knew the search was over. The mixture of mountains, flowing water, and the beauty of the cabin itself won me over. It's a 12 hour drive from home, but thats just decompression time.
The Unique Benefits at this Log Cabin
I spend most of my free time riding bicycles. After my first ride in the high country riding anywhere in the world is a step down. The effort to climb, the exhilaration of the down hill and the beauty of fall in the mountains is the begining of a perfect day, a glass of wine, the hot tub, a great meal, and dessert by the fire pit with the sound of the river and the stars up above. Need I say more.
Owner's Map of Boone
My wife and I live in Florida on the Gulf of mexico. I am a personal trainer in 2 gyms and my wife is an RN.

Our family rented “Cruisin’ River Dreams” July 5-12. We all had a fabulous time and I wanted to let you know that the cabin was beyond our expectations. I have never stayed in a rental unit that was so well equipped, right down to numerous spice choices! We especially enjoyed having bikes and tubes available instead of having to go through the hassle and expense of having to rent these items. The furnishings were very comfortable and everything was very clean.
