  • Our Family Vacation

"We stayed at Gulf Breeze the week after the Fourth of July. We searched quite a bit for a place my wife and I, our two sons and their wives, and grandkids could really enjoy. We chose Fort Myers Beach and boy were we ever happy! We have used VRBO almost exclusively over the past 6 years and the Gulf Breeze was one of our favorites. The house was as advertised and the amenities were very good. The pool area was outstanding and we spent the majority of the time in the pool with our grandkids and kids! Other than a wild thunderstorm that played havoc with the pool and spa control panel, the house was great. Just enough room for the 6 adults and 2 small grandkids. Let me get to the best part of the house and that was it's location. Far enough away from the Times Square congestion to be wonderful, but close enough to pop up there a couple of times as well without a long drive. The location to all of the restaurants and the Publix grocery were excellent. We highly recommend Nervous Nellies, Yucatan Beach Stand, and Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille for great food and live entertainment. Times Square also has some good eating and a wonderful place to sit and have a cold one while listening to some of the island performers. You cannot end the evening without stopping by The Royal Scoop for some great ice cream treats or the Magic City Slush for some delicious Italian Ice. The location for beach goers is fantastic. We simply walked across the street every day to get to the white sand beach. The waverunner rental was right there so what could have been better!! Got to see some dolphins and a manatee up close on a jetski! The owners have pretty much thought of everything for any renters. Having access to the garage for beach chairs, wagons, bikes, and toys was a pleasant offer. The gas grill was great for burgers, dogs, and pizza on the grille. It was not the most elegant place we have ever rented but it was by far one of the best! We will be back here to the Gulf Breeze to stay again! Great job Todd, Mary, Ken, and Dave the pool guy! Thank You for a wonderful time."

  • What a great condo with a great view

"Our first time renting for a month and it was great. Condo is all updated and was very clean. A great location on southern part of island. Everything you need is nearby. Was great to be able to walk out of the condo and be right on the beach, sunsets were awesome. Owner was great to work with, will be back."

  • Great Location

"We had a fabulous 11-day stay just pre-season. Kathy's condo is just as pictured -- spacious and comfortable. We love the ample closet space, fully equipped kitchen, good water pressure in the shower, and the balcony for morning breakfast. EBT itself has the best pool, we think -- warm (once in you really don't want to get out) and the deep end is 7+ft. Easy access to the beach. As far as we can tell, security at EBT is very good as well. Make sure to register your car and bicycles to avoid any problems... We rented bicycles and took rides on the beach and to Lovers Key State Park just south. The Publix supermarket is 2 miles away and there are many good restaurants within easy reach (as close as across the street). Great location. It was also a pleasure dealing with Kathy."

  • Perfect!!!!

"We had a wonderful stay at the sunrise beach cottage! The location is great, everything we needed was within a few minutes...grocery store, shops, restaurants. The house is directly on the beach, and it was not very crowded wich we really liked. The house was very very clean and 100% stocked with everything we needed. I was very glad to find a pet friendly beach and Barry was nice enough to let us take our 2 dogs and they too had a great time at the beach! Thank you so much for everything!"

Fort Myers Beach Travel Tips

More than 6,200 people call Fort Myers Beach home. This town located on Estero Island wasn't officially incorporated until December 1995, making it a newer Floridian hotspot. Although Fort Myers Beach may be small, more than 1.8 million visitors flock there every year to enjoy the beaches, fishing, shopping, dining, golf and entertainment along the Gulf.

There's no undertow in Fort Myers Beach, making it the "World's Safest Beach" and perfect for families who want to get their toes wet. The entire island is 7 miles long, a nice walk or jog for those who want to work in a little exercise on their trip.

The area that was once home to Native Americans and Spaniards is a favorite among tourists who dine on "pink gold" shrimp and celebrate the fishing industry with the week-long Shrimp Festival held in March.

Fort Myers Beach Attractions

There's a lot to do on the tiny island of Estero including water sports, beach activities and outdoor and indoor attractions. There are 25 public beach accesses on the Gulf side of Estero Island that are marked for easy spotting.

You can stop by one of several playgrounds and parks in Fort Myers Beach. Head to Lynn Hall Memorial Park, where you can fish off of a 600-foot pier. Sports lovers can venture over to Bay Oaks Recreation Center for basketball, tennis and volleyball courts.

There are 17 acres of fun on the northern tip of Estero Island at Bowditch Point Regional Park. For more protected wildlife areas, check out the Matanzas Pass Wildlife Preserve with a restored cottage, 42 acres of wilderness and a sanctuary for native plants and animals. Seven acres are developed for a park and the rest remains part of a preservation. There are boardwalks that allow visitors to Estero Back Bay access to observe ospreys and pelicans as they fish for food. Kayaks and canoes are available at Oyster Bay and Lovers Key Barrier Island.

Things to Do in Fort Myers Beach

Lovers Key State Park: Lovers Key is one of four barrier islands that make up the park. The 2-mile-long beach is popular for shelling, swimming, picnicking and sunning. Over at Black Island you can enjoy 5 miles of hiking and bicycling.
