Cute place but not for tall people

                                              Ewa H.

This was out first time in Seattle, and stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The location is wonderful: quiet, quaint neighborhood, walking distance to the great restaurants and coffee shops in downtown Ballard, Discovery Park, Sunset park, and less than one block to the bus route to dowtown Seattle. Though small, the kitchen was well-equipped. Our biggest gripe was that the home is not comfortable for tall people. My 6'4" husband had to duck at every doorway and showering was difficult for both of us. At 5'8", I had to crouch down quite a bit. Also, there were extra pillows available, but only one additional pillowcase. Less annoying was the toilet that needs to be reset, but everything worked well and was well maintained and clean. I would recommend.

Great location in Ballard, property needs TLC

                                              Laura S.

The location in Ballard is great- under a 10 minute walk to coffee/small grocery, bar. 15 min. Walk to all the bars, shops, etc. on Market and Ballard avenues. However, the property really needs some attention. The bathroom/shower setup is a little treacherous, shower at your own risk. There's dirt, food splatters on the walls. found hair stuck to the bathroom wall on check-in- the whole place could use a good deep clean and paint. It's too small to cook, but even if I wanted to, it was too unclean for me to consider. If you're looking for a place to crash after partying, this is a great place. If you want comfort and cleanliness, I wouldn't recommend this location.

                                              Pig with lipstick

                                              Ruth T.

I am shocked this property received 5 star reviews. I should have known that something was up by the phony pics--they do not show this property realistically. They make this place look clean and new but it's more like a camp shack patched together and dressed up with pretty paint colors. The bathroom ceiling has pink mildew, as well as a spider smashed into the wall and a hole that was spackled over with what looks like a big blob of dried toothpaste. Only one window in the rental had a screen so I couldn't open any others without letting bugs in. The patio was a mess; the pretty wood barrel with the flowers that you see in the pics was actually falling apart with nothing but a pile of dirt in it. Behind the house was a junk yard--literally--with trash strewn about and endless clay pots filled with dirt, ugly garden gnomes, and basically just crap lying around. Even the flatscreen TV picture quality was horrendous--blurry and out of focus. The bottom shelf of the fridge was duct taped in place. A previous reviewer said she made Thanksgiving dinner here--I don't know how that is possible, with the tiny range and total of about 4 square feet of counter space. Last, Ballard is nothing to speak of. The main strip is a 15-minute walk from the house, and the few places close to the house (grocery store, coffee shop) close at 8 PM. The cleaning fee is more than I pay my housekeeper every other week for my house which is literally 3 times the size of this house, and in the Washington DC area, which is not cheap. To add insult to injury, they make you bring out your own trash/recycling/composting. Trust me--if you have any standards at all you do not want to stay here. Like they say, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still just a pig.

                                              Charming and well appointed cottage!

                                              Kate R.

Perfectly located charming cottage. Within walking distance of old Ballard and many restaurants. Well appointed and quite comfortable!

perfect for single traveler or cozy couple

                                              Jackie W.

Like your own private hotel suite! The street is peaceful and the house feels secure. We stayed for a week and enjoyed eating our way Ballard Ave. As other reviews have said, beware the foot of the bed frame - it is a destroyer of toes. Otherwise everything was lovely. Recommend renting a car if staying longer than a few days to reach other parts of the city.

                                              Owner's Response:

Hello Jackie, thank you so much for staying at the Ballard Cottage and reviewing your experience! We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us and we will definitely look into padding or cushioning the foot of the bed frame. All the best, Sea to Sky Rentals
