About this property
Cozy Mountain Log Home Overlooking Rushing Stream
Get away from it all! Remote lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom log home with sleeping loft nestled in the woods and looking out on a bold cascading stream. Soak in the covered hot tub or rock on the covered porch overlooking the rushing stream and relax to the sound of the beautiful waterfalls. Open up the windows and feel the cool mountain air, fall asleep to the calming sound of falling water - The best nights sleep. Gather round the fire-pit, roast marshmallows, and soak up the scenery. Cook burgers and hot dogs on the bank of the stream on the picnic table with park style charcoal grill. Relax, hike, or play in this true mountain paradise! . WiFi and free long distance calls included. Enough room for everyone, 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, 1 full sleeper sofa. **NOTE: The cabin is 2.6 miles from Hwy 19 into our mountain community on Hornbuckle Creek. The road is gravel (not steep) but is very well maintained by the HOA, we have provided very detailed driving directions and proper signage as GPS is not fully accurate in the mountains. It is a 15 minute drive to town. While in the winter months - driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle would be recommended, no need in other seasons. If getting away from the crowds and enjoying a remote Great Smoky Mountain experience is your thing , you will love this place! The kitchen is extremely well equipped to prepare any meal. Outside you will enjoy cooking on the gas or charcoal grill over the stream. In the beautiful cool evenings of spring and fall take the chill off watching the flames in the woodstove fireplace. Pets may be considered. Ask us.

The cabin was well furnished and comfortable. The view of and access to Hornbuckle Creek was excellent. The cabin and rushing water stream were all that we hoped they would be.
The drive is worth it! The cabin is on the creek with all the amenities for a relaxing, fun stay. The cabin was one of the best stocked rentals we've stayed at, and the furnishings were very comfortable. The owner, Neil, was very communicative and thought of everything! We'll definitely be staying again.
Everything was absolutely fabulous. We will definitely rent this cabin again, comfortable, all the amenities you could need, and a beautiful view! Perfect!!!
We had a great time, it is So quiet and secluded! I do recommend 4-wheel drive and be sure to carry your food in for first couple days, as you will not want to leave when you get there! Thanks for letting us stay.

The home was exactly what we wanted. My grandson declared it the best cabin I have found so far ! Sitting on the porch listening to the creek was so relaxing. The hot tub and fire pit area was an added bonus ! I would definitely rent this home again !

Thanks Renee! Glad you and your grandson enjoyed the cabin. Hope to host you again!! 😊
Cabin was great and the location is just what I was looking for to unplug for a few days. The property was secluded, beautiful and well maintained. Will definitely stay here again!
Absolutely loved the cabin and the area. We even got to see a bear about 1/2 a mile from the cabin. I do recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the road leading to the cabin.
The gravel road was rough (we drove a Honda sedan), but it was worth the drive to the cabin that was one of my favorites! We enjoyed the fire pit, the rushing creek, the area around the cabin - so woodsy and cozy! The cabin is decorated so cute and thoughtfully. Plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. We will go back!

Our stay was exceptional! Beautiful, cozy and clean cabin. The views and rushing stream were amazing! Excellent communication with the hosts as well. We loved it!
This place was awesome! Perfect sized cabin for my family if 5 and family dog! We used it a refreshing stopping point coming home from a cross country trip. And it was perfect, the sound of the creek really helped us relax and sleep soundly! We had fun exploring the area and even went tubing in nearby Bryson City and went hiking off the blue ridge parkway! Sitting on the porch and exploring the rushing creek was a fantastic! Thanks for letting us stay!

Thanks for coming and so glad you enjoyed the cabin! Love to host you again in the future ❤️
This is one of the best vacations we have ever taken! You will truly enjoy your vacation, and you will feel like this log cabin is home away from home… property was absolutely beautiful and the cabin is well kept and very clean. The property owners are premier host for a reason this home and vacation exceeded our expectations! We look forward to returning to Running Bear Falls!!!
Stop scrolling: you've found the perfect cabin. It's extremely cozy, well stocked, quiet and hemmed by a picturesque stream. The owner is very responsive, the WiFi worked perfectly, the water stayed hot and everything was as comfortable as can be. The drive isn't too steep, but it is long, so grab what you want before you head up the mountain because you're not going to want to leave.
Our stay at the Running Bear Falls cabin was absolutely incredible. Between the hot tub, the creek behind the house, & the convenient location, our family could have stayed for a week without running out of things to do. The cabin requires a 10 min drive along a gravel mountain road, but that only adds to the charm of feeling completely disconnected. Once on the main road, you are less than a min away from the Blue Ridge Parkway & Solo Falls. You're also about 10 mins from Maggie Valley (with it's nice little shops & restaurants), 20 mins from Cherokee, & 25 mins from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. My wife, daughters, & I all can't wait to return to Running Bear Falls asap.

Gorgeous setting with flowing creek in backyard. You can enjoy the beauty of the mountains right there on the property. Easy walk from the house to the creek side fire pit, bench swing and picnic table.Home is spotless, well-appointed and everything is in working order. Kitchen and property are well stocked with cooking ware, tools and most anything you need (except the food of course). The hosts are efficient and effective communicators. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Pictures do not do this cabin justice! It is beautiful inside and out. Anything you could ever need is already on site. The views are breathtaking - we enjoyed exploring the creek and then relaxing on the porch, watching the hummingbirds. We will definitely be making a return trip!
If you're looking for paradise, secluded, running creek, no one around then this is the place. If I could afford it I would live here year round. Internet & phone service is a little sketchy but in paradise who cares?
Beautiful property right on a stream. Cabin was large, clean, and comfortable with extras such as games, basic necessities, ice maker, condiments and all small appliances needed. Lots of wood for a campfire beside the stream or in the cabin if desired. Loved it, loved it, loved it.
Our trip was wonderful. The cabin was great and was very clean. It was private and so was the creek. We spent most of our time on the creek and enjoying the hot tub.we never had a problem so we never really had to get in touch with anyone. It’s one of the best trips we have ever taken.
The cabin was wonderful and very relaxing! We enjoyed sitting on the deck, watching the hummingbirds and hearing the rush of water from the creek below. We built a fire and fixed smores with the items left for us by the host. My son and grandson loved playing in the creek. Will definitely visit again!!
