We had a great time staying at Susan's place! Our dog especially enjoyed swimming in the lake and having easy access to the water! Thanks again, we'll definitely be back!
My kids loved the lake and the paddle boat, shallow beach swimming, great location, short drive to Traverse City, but very much away from the bustle of the city. Great Lake cabin getaway!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Susan's place. its' quiet with a beautiful view of the lake -- paddleboat & row boat on site. We had campfires every night and visited Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Turtle Creek Casino.Everything you need is provided. I did bring coffee and tea.The only downside is that there is no A/C and the upstairs bedrooms can be a little stuffy, though the fans did help.
Check in was super easy as we got there at 9pm. Rustic cabin in perfect location. Very quiet with only occasional minimal noise from neighbors. At night you can hear all the frogs which is peaceful.Didn’t bother me, but some might like a more updated cabin. Bathroom area a bit on the small side. Only down side was the carpet is very old and a bit dirty.Overall, a great stay.
This place was great! Had everything you might need. Super clean. We were there the week before Memorial Day so it was really quite in the neighborhood. Great water access for the dogs to swim. Fishing was fantastic right off of the dock or in the little fishing boat. Location was ideal. Off the beaten path but just minutes away from grocery or bait stores. Traverse City is an east 15 minute drive away. So many cool things to explore in the area! Susan is an amazing host! Great communication and there to help if needed.
my only complaint was the carpet was very dirty and smelled. we were outside so not to big a deal.
But the bedding was wonderful! very comfortable and clean. loved having a beach to ourselves. its an old comfortable cabin but had everything that you need! trees kept it cool in the heat . great space for us all. Frig. was new and good size. felt away from town but just minutes from Travesere city.
Very quiet lake location. Comfortable and everything we needed for the two of us. We stayed 12 nights and we were not ready to go home. Excellent internet which was important to us bc we were both working.
Overall it was great. Just a couple of things could have made it fantastic. There was a major amount of cobwebs and dead bugs under our bed. There were a lot of towels, but some pretty raggedy washcloths. We kept tripping over a rug in the living room that needs some repair. I finally sewed one end with some fishing line, but it still needs repair. We had to do a major sweep of the deck due to a thick covering of pine needles. It looked like they had been there for a month. Other than those things we had a great time. It was cozy, great location to restaurants and downtown Traverse City. We would come again!
We had a great stay. The lake was beautiful and had tons of color in October. The neighborhood was also very quiet and serene in the fall. We will be back!
Exactly as represented; neat, clean, well-organized, complete, and very comfortable! Everything worked well; no problems and no complaints. Had a great week.
The location is very peaceful and relaxing. We had everything we needed for a stress free and relaxing stay. My biggest surprise was that the beds were very comfortable which made having to leave and go back home that more difficult.
Second year staying at this cottage. Kids enjoyed a lot of fishing and swimming on this quiet lake. Beach area at the property could use a little attention for easier access to the water. Stairs down to water also need some attention, many stubbed toes. Number of beds and rooms were perfect for our family. We love being on this quiet lake, but also love being so close to T.C. and the wine trails. Will definitely be coming back again!
It was a nice quiet lake tucked away with privacy. The house was equipped with everything we need and plenty of towels. Close location to Traverse City
This was a great place to get away, far enough from town that it felt isolated but close enough we could go shopping or eat out when we wanted. The owner was very responsive and check-in was easy. We had a great trip!
Everything was great. It’s like going to your grandpas favorite place on earth and being able to sit in his favorite chair, cause he’s not there (lol). We loved our stay. A little chilly for fishing but no lack of things to do in this beautiful area. I’m pretty sure we accidentally hit the best weekend of the year for tree leaf color. Cabin was exactly as described and thinking about returning in 2021
